  1. If no one has mentioned it, maybe change your spark plugs, it seemed to fix a similar problem I had.
  2. Your not displaying your plates as well??? Damn your just asking to be caught and if or when you do it probably wont be worth it. Yeah black paint will be fine and is the least of your worries lol
  3. In all seriousness why would anyone watch these stupid "current affair" shows anyway? They do this hoon thing once ever couple of months along with dodgy builders, fruit that gives you cancer and banks who god forbid act like a proper business and not a charity for poor idiots to get themselves into more debt. I dont waste my time getting worried about this.
  4. Ive had this problem, the problem is in the remote, sometimes it can get moisture in it and it can cause the panic alarm to set off when the remote is in range. As a test take the battery out of the remote and see if it still does it. Try replacing the battery in the remote (it opens up easilly enough) or failing that you may need to replace the remote. I did this and it fixed the issue. It creeped me the hell out when it happened in the middle of the night lol.
  5. Ive had my tune for a fair while (3 years) and it feels like it can do with a "tune up" it might just need everything tightened again. I reflash my tune once every few months usually when I service the car. Cars having souls is another way of saying that it can be unreliable sometimes lol
  6. If I go down to the shops its usually in normal mode, In traffic or spirited driving I have it in Performance mode or manual mode when I want to be adventurous, but honestly its not too often, performance mode usually does a good enough job.
  7. Nulon 10w-40 never had a problem with it, but horses for courses.
  8. Where you get it tuned at?
  9. Dont know if its been answered but can you program it to blip the throttle on downshifts? Especially when in Perf mode or Manually shifting?
  10. that's really bad to hear, hate to think what was going through your mind when it happened and I must commend you on your calmness, I would have been swearing so badly! Haha bored with 340! Good luck getting to 500, a failure like that is always good for a new project.
  11. Wow and what gets me is that they did a run earlier 9.93 sec, I think that was on 93 octane!!!!!!!! http://www.amsperformance.com/accomplishments.php Insane!
  12. If these people had any idea how an auto tranny works, they would know why its not a good idea lol
  13. why would you need to rev the engine any higher in neutral? Its most likely a rev limited a parameter in the ECU.
  14. Is this a generic tune? If so dont use it and get it properly tuned, these tunes which come with the cappa box can cause huge problems, but from what you have described it sounds like a mechanical problem. I agree get the valve springs replaced as the BA's are know to have fairly weak springs.
  15. Cant see why not but having alot more power over stock will increase the chance of failure. Just make sure that you can do without the car for a period of time, if not id suggest a lower power. Not sure on the model you have but mine is 267rwkw an has not missed a beat, had it tuned for well over a year and was used daily (its now a weekend car).
  16. How so?
  17. Yeah each side of the cabin can have a different temp, mine is always set the same, something about having two differing temperatures really freaks me out lol Basically set the temp you want for the cabin, press auto and it will keep that temperature. Of course you can set it so air movement goes to different places live foot well, demister etc etc.
  18. BFBC 2 is the bomb! Got it both for PC and Xbox Once you play a game where buildings collapse around you as well as the brilliant sound you dont go back to COD with all the 12 year olds.
  19. Taller ratios will make it fell more sluggish, I think your wanting a shorter ratio. Im not sure what the 4 speed auto diff ratio is but I think you might want to look at a 3.45:1 or 3.71:1 any shorter and you will be reving too hard when cruising. I think Taller (I.e 3.08:1 to 2.73:1) increases top speed where as shorter (3.08:1 to 3.45:1) will increase acceleration but with the reduction of top speed.
  20. For sure go for it! I love seeing older cars with turboed engines! That being said expect to have to fork out alot of money. Even with off the shelf kits you will have to think about other parts eg transmission, diff, fuel system, tyres, brakes etc etc etc. No good having a car which only lasts a few weeks. Probably not ideal for a daily but awesome for a project
  21. Depends, if its been looked after then my guess it will last for a lot longer, oil starvation kills turbos pretty quickly so if your oil isnt changed frequently it may have a damaging effect. Just listen for unusual noises or excessive grinding on shut down or excessive play in the shaft both up and down (usually a tiny bit 1mm or so is fine) but there shouldn't be any in/out. Dont go forking out to get a turbo replaced unless you need to, they aint cheap.
  22. I have the pedders coilovers in my car and they are great on the road and also on the track. Id recommended them
  23. If you can invent a way to store it safely then sir you will be the wealthiest man in the world Or killed by an oil industry hired hit man
