I saw a Expensive Daewoo recall add in the paper on saturday, then on the next page webasto recall add on the next page. Must be a lot of sunroofs because it said 2002 to 2009. I wonder how many have come off while driving. I'm getting mine done on friday from a Webasto dealer in kelvin grove. Only 20 min job they reckon to replace the glass.

I changed both pulleys (idle and tensioner) today and was pretty easy to do. Pulleys and bearings were $25 and $31 from repco and I also put a new belt on which I'm glad I did because I found a decent crack in the old one. This link was handy as it tells you how to replace the belt. I took the fans out like he says too and it makes it much easier. BA Falcon drive belt replacement

I think I'm just gonna head to repco tomorrow and see what their prices are like, usually pretty good. Might replace the tensioner pulley as well if its around $25.

Anyone know where I can order the idle pulley bearing online? I pulled it off and repacked it but the seals on the bearing were all cracked and breaking up. Little bits of plastic where falling off everywhere. I put it back together but I want to replace it for a new if its only $25. Picked up the belt from supercheap for $50. Gonna chuck that on with a new bearing. How long does a belt usually last? I just thought I would replace because its done 100K and is 7 years old now.

Its a really black powdery stuff. I just use a rag with my fingers or a screwdriver to wipe it out. I'm assuming its carbon but could be wrong...?
-
Sounds easy enough, I might give it a crack. Should be simple to replace the belt at the same time I'm guessing?

Is it hard to pull off the pulley and put it back on? Mine squeaks as well and I've been wanting to fix it for ages but don't know the process for pulling it off and putting it back on. Any tips would be great

Mine used to threaten to stall a fair bit and then it did a couple of times. Once I learned how to clean the throttle body that fixed it all up. Seems to get dirty pretty quick though, like a few 1000 kms.

Hi all I was wondering if anyone has a good idea or fix for preventing the carbon build up in the throttle body. I have a ba xr6t and every 7500km I clean out the throttle body because it gets a build up of carbon which can sometimes affect the idling of the car. Is there a product I can use or do I just keep cleaning it out. Anyone know where it comes from?

I got all those same guages working now. Pretty cool app, I bought the full version cause its only $4.80 AU and might as well support the developers because they will continue to improve it. I've only got my boost to 5psi on my standard ba xr6t. If you were keen enough you could buy one of those 7 inch android tablets and make yourself a cool set of guages just don't know where you would put it. So far only got boost, revs and coolant temp to read. I do have a Nokia Bluetooth kit in the car so I might try it again with that disabled. does you boost read -9.9 psi at idle?
-
bit of a bummer, when it connects to the bluetooth adapter is its says, incompatiable ECU, but torque will still try to read the data anyway. It manages to read the boost and coolant temp. Coolant temp seems about right. The boost stays on -9.9 psi at idle and when you drive it gets back to nearly 0. If you wind it right out it got to 5psi. Might have got to 6psi if I really pushed it but I couldn't really test it much cause its pouring rain. Hunia - Where did you getyour adapter from and does it all work properly. Mine was a $30 ebay job from hong kong so I can't expect too much.
-
Good to hear it works. I'm still waiting on my bluetooth adapter from ebay. I have an old iphone 3g I want to try as well , I was looking for apps for it but they all seem to use a wifi obd2 adapter which was a bit dearer than 30 bucks.
-
Hi there Just wondering if anyone has used the Torque app for android? I see there are similiar ones for iphones. I have just ordered a cheap obd2 bluetooth adapter off ebay so just waiting for it to come in the mail.

Air Con Fan Noise. What Oil To Use?

just let you know I think the stretched out brushes springs did the trick and has fixed the ticking noise. I haven't heard anything out of it for a few weeks now. I'm guessing it will come back over time as the brushes get smaller and smaller but I suppose I could just put a small spacer behind the springs when it gets to that stage. -
