Yeah I brought mine when I was 22 (just 23) had no prior car insurance, hooked up a deal with the RACV for 'bout $1500 yearly. Straight to rating 2, Just Car was gonna charge me about 3 large and was gonna be like rating 5 million. Dunno if you have an equivalent of the RACV over in Adelaide, Just Car is way 2 expensive. Ok whizzer, here we go... Marked and removed tailshaft to carry out check for the noise Removed uni out of tailshaft and checked - found uni to be dry Regreased uni as required Removed the flens and inspected spines on shaft and found nut lock not very tight Cleaned up spines on flens and shaft - used locktite on nut and re-torque up nut to 100n/m Refitted uni back into tailshaft and refitted to vehicle. Road tested vehicle and found all to now be driving fine with no noise Good luck hope this helps

Anyway, going back to the original post, it would seem strange I reckon unless you were doing something excessively wrong, like going through a stop sign in a school zone. Or going seriously over the limit. As for getting out and greeting the cop, tried that only to have both officers reach for their guns, yelling at me to get back in the car. I don't think people would mind as much if they were just issued the ticket, and can move on. Most (some?) accept that they were over speeding and will cop the fine and points (that's what I was prepared to do). that's all that is required for the officer. Diatribes don't get most people on side, apparently I will never be Mark Scaiffe, last time I checked I was driving an XR but anyway I'm getting side tracked. There are pricks everywhere but nothing pisses people off more than pricks in positions of power, whatever job it may be. By the way, I have a tape recorder in my car now for evidence, because the sh*t that was said to me was totally inappropriate and if it happens again I will be prepared.

Good news! It wasn't the tail shaft, so I no longer have to wait for the 'balancer' to fix it. They had a good look this time and discovered that it was something to do with the diff / axle not geling too well (don't have the tech read out sheet yet). That was 'bout a week ago, and haven't heard the tinking noise since Whizzer that's probably your problemo mate. I will post when I receive the full details. Cheers

Cuspub, how do you know they run 14psi for the Phase II? I believe you re: the phase 3 with the higher boost but they do say the kit will be running less power than the results they have printed, less boost then? I wouldn't know just asking!

JIMBO, mate I am in the same boat with my tail shaft "there is only one balancer in Melbourne and all dealers have to wait their turn" I have been waiting for a month. They gave me a call up and said it will take a while longer before they get it in ... but they did say they might be able to repair it, optimism is good. Going in Wednesday I'll keep you posted. Could be a short cut who knows? I wonder if they could tell us which dealer it is at so I can take mine there, I wouldn't mind the drive, they can't be fixing that many you know.

The manual is fine, sure its not the slickest 'box around, you do get used to it, as well as the clutch, that lightens up too.

You might know that my tail shaft is well ... shafted :( But had a call from Ford saying the replacement is a long way away ... but they might b able to repair it next wednesday. Now that would be a great pressie cause then I can get my phase 1 done Cheers

It is an option. I did mine afterwards as I wanted to know exactly who was gonna do it and choose the tint I wanted. If you live in Melbourne I have no hesitation recommending you speak to TINTR he did a great job on mine.

I think the phase 2 is a little way off yet! Don't quite think the bank balance will look to good after that. It would be good though

Thanks mate, I was thinking of getting a hi-flow cat done at the same time as the chip so that it would be tuned properly. Let us know how the injectors go and the $$$$cost.

Hey hypnodoc, U said your going in for a unichip retune and bigger injectors. Do you have Phase 1 upgrade or other mods? Just curious as am thinking of getting the phase 1, also whats the preformance like? Cheers
