  1. I'm about to get a e85 tune put in my car and currently running PW stage 2 kit.. It's a fgf6 with the upgraded f6 turbo.. Just wondering what I'm gonna run out of first.. Turbo puff or cooler flow? The car has 400rwkw now, hoping for 440-450rwkw on e85.. Will the stage 2 cooler get there or will The turbo run out of puff first? And does a stage 3 PW cooler core fit up to a stage 2 piping kit? The predigamet I'm in is its $2400 for e85. If I can't get decent numbers above 400, I'll have to do the turbo, intercooler aswell.. Which means +$6k and then I guess the box will go which will be another $3.5k.. So don't want to start the e85 upgrade if it's gonna cost me ~$9k for 50-80rwkw Cheers all
  2. Guys, Just wondering if there is a standard retune period when you should take the car in to be retuned? I've had a solid 400+rwkw tune in my F6 now for about 2 years... its starting to idle a bit wobbly at startup and sometimes stalls when I'm pulling up my driveway and the revs drop down (auto). The tune still feels solid, my tuner says it shouldn't need a touch up tune, but I thought with engine wear etc over the years, the specs of the motor can change (small amounts) and thus the tune needs to be touched up to suit?

All, I've noticed with some creative throttle blip'in on downshift I'm able to get my F6 to sound like a awesome sports car when its changing back gears in manual mode... just wondering if the ZF can be tuned or modified to do this as the norm when downshifting? Similar to how the R35 GTRs do it...
  4. Just wondering what everyone else is getting in terms of fuel consumption with modded barra engines. I'm getting on avg approx 16.5-17lt / 100km. (seems a little thirsty?) FG F6...400rwkw tune, running 98.. like to give it a squirt..

Guys, seen a few posts here already similar to this but not the same. for the last 2 days my fg won't start using the starter button. battery check was ok... terminals, fuses and connections ok... today I tried it this morning and it started but made a real funny electrical sound and all the dash lights were flickering. turned it off and on and it did the same thing and started. this same issue happened about a month ago, but it started after a few attempts and worked fine until now. something I've noticed is the engine light stays on when its in ignition (the days it wouldn't start) and it was off this morning when it did start. I'm thinking the starter motor is clapping out? who's the the best person to do that kind of work other than ford who charge through the roof? Mechanics or auto-electrical ? and whats a ball park figure to get new starter motor installed? Cheers fellas

  9. Nah it doesn't turn over.. Yeh u can hear the fuel pump when it goes to the "on" position.. It just won't kick over.. How do I use my flash tuner to scan for fault codes?
  10. Went to start my turbo this mourning and it started to turn over then just died... I turned it off then tryed to start it again and nothing.. Allthe acessories are working... Battery is fine and I ran my flash tuner through it and reloaded the tune.. Still didn't work!! I'm thinking starter motor.. But I'm not that mechanically minded so does any1 have any suggestions??   11. Hey guys, I've just ordered a xr8 bulge with the scoop in the front.. (same as XR2DY4's) ... because I live in Perth I dont have ppl such as phat customs or the like over here to graft the fiberglass to my orginal metal bonnet... can any1 give me a rough idea how hard it is??? or at least where I can get it done in WA??? Or even better does any1 have a link to a write up of how to do it??? anything would be appreciated!! cheers guys!

  13. hey all, just wondering wat should the normal fuel pressure be when the xr6t is at idle? I heard from someone it should be 58psi.. then watever over that is your boost? can someone give me a quick run down about it? Ive got The Autometer cobalt gauge (Fuel Pressure)

    haha that's arright tom... yeh its droped a lot of jaws lately when people go for a spin in it. A few updates: 1. Did the boost solenoid trick and didnt really fix the boost problem.. so im more looking at the wastegate/flapper mod now. Although it did come on boost a little more earlier in the rev range. 2. Yeh I had a chat to the guys at BPT but they are flat out... probally going to have the inlet/outlet job done first before the flapper/wastegate job.. around early december. I'm going to get BPT to give it a go with the inlet/oulet job and re-tune.. see what they can produce.. then if its still not around 350+ I will take on simons advice to get the flapper/wastegate mod done and give him a tune on the car. theres a lot of hype around weather or not this mod should be done and if its needed.. from what I know its more of a tunning thing rather than hp gains. Another little thing I like to add is that I went against a Blue R34 GTR V-Spec yesterday on the freeway.. had the N1 exhaust and by the sound of it had some work done to it. he couldnt pull away from me as hard as he was trying and I gained a car length on him when I was in full swing in 6th gear.... geeeeezz that made my day :)

    yeh with the parts I have on I should definetly see 350rwkw dont ya guys rekon? I mean theres heaps of cars around that have less parts running the same power... I was just a lil pissed off these guys couldnt work out wat was wrong... I think once the cooler gets fixed I should see the better flow thus giving more power and better boost control? Whats involved in doing the wastegate and flapper?

    yeh the PW stage 3 does normally have the 3inch outlets but the one I brought was modified from new to suit stock inlet/outlet sizes.. dont ask me why.... but im getting it made to bigger sizes in the coming weeks which should see heaps better flow... the temps are down majorly!!! Im not sure if its a wastegate problem.. the boys at BPT were pretty big on it being the boost solenoid but im going to do that WD-40 trick when I get home (2 days) and see if that fixes it... if it dosnt it prob is a wastegate problem then ay?? im not too clued up on the turbo side of things ay... any1 can shed some more light?

    hey all, just thought I'd drop my dyno sheets cause I made it into the 300+ club Just a few things I wanna ask some people... Firstly, I was expecting around 350+rwkw... but for some reason the boost was spiking all over the place when it got to about 14psi. I had the actuator changed to a 12pound one for xr6turbo developments, and had the valve springs done etc etc. The guys at BPT reckon it may be my boost solenoid is sticking that's why it was spiking? They controlled it relativly well after about 4 hours on the dyno. But they said if they can get that sorted they should see more power.. any1 with any ideas? Also, My stage 3 PW cooler I put on it has only the stock inlet/outlet sizes so they said that would of been restricting flow which is why I probally didnt get to the 350+ mark... they are gonna re-engineer the cooler to bigger inlet/outlet sizes so hopefully that will fix the flow up a bit. Other than that I was resonably happy with the power and 900+Nm of torque which really made the difference. Also had the Malwood short shifter fitted... feels great a you can slam it into gears. going to take it down to kwinnana this next wednesday to see wat time she runs... hopefully I can get my mickey thompsons in time.

  22. Mine is in atm getting the PW stage 3 cooler, valve springs and fuel pump installed.. My car is a 05 BA Mk11 PHANTOM sedan.. hopefully it has the same glitches as these other phantom cars hahahaahaha.... it should produce around 360rwkw :)
  23. hey guys, just got a few questions. How hard are the Whiteline sway bars to fit for a sedan? can it be done in a driveway with some car stands etc? Also my car is really low... its got the SSL.. and im getting really bad camber wear on the front and rear tyres. is there any way to fix this other than return the car to stock ride height? a few suspension shops say u can get camber kits but ford already have them... others say nothing will fix it.. and ive had ppl say they can offer a complete package to fix it for big bucks. cheers fellas
  24. any1 heard of cryogenics? its a C02 system that cools the intercooler.. works off a system much like the nitrous kit. you can purge it and all that sh*t etc... dosnt seem to expensive
