  1. This is probably where I get laughed off the forum .........But to all the people who have cut holes in the lower part of their airbox and fitted the F6 snorkel does it really make a noticeable difference?? And if so wouldnt a similar result be achieved by simply cutting a hole in the base of the airbox??
  2. thanks mate. I did find it in the end, initially I thought it was inline with the rear door for some reason. fitted a fuel miser one which is probably as good as any, wasnt too much drama fitting it although getting access when your in your driveway using axel stands can make it a little akward. I think it has made the slight improvement in performace I have been searching for. after changing the oil and spark plugs and lubing the boost solenoid. the car has still felt flat. now it seems to rev from 3000 rpm right through. Now I just gotta wait till I can afford a flash tuner.....
  3. think I've found the info im after just had to read the post a little further. cheers. hope its not too difficult.
  4. Hey guys Could someone please tell me where the fuel filter is on my 04 BA XR6T.........I figure once found it will be fairly easy to replace??
  5. Getting back to what I said, I sprayed the WD40 through the solenoid was I supposed to spray it into the two pipes it connects to as well??!
  6. Yeah I can appreciate you do get used to the power but a few months back I drove another XR6T with 90km which was also stock but it just felt more responsive. Perhaps it was just one of those cars that goes better than the rest?.......
  7. Hey there Thought this might have been the solution to my cars sluggish feel. I pulled out the solenoid removed both pipes and sprayed WD40 through it so WD40 was goin in one pipe and coming out the other, dont know if that was the right way to do it?! I didnt spray any WD40 down the hoses that connect to the solenoid, should I have? anyway dont think it made a noticable difference, hard to tell cos it was lightly raining which caused traction issues. Earlier that day I had changed the oil and put in new spark plugs which hasnt improved the feel of the car. Any ideas what I might try to get back the power?? Its a 04 BA XR6T with 61km stock standard with a new KN panel filter. Having a look on here I guess cleaning the throttle body would help and maybe the exhaust manifold studs may need tightening?? any help would be appreciated! Cheers

    Stock Xr6t

Can anyone confirm how much the herrod exhaust adds 30kw?? seems kinda high?? Can you remap the ecu or just put an aftermarket chip in them?? I work in used vehicle sales for ford and I know abit about specifications of the cars but dont know much about tuning these xr6 turbos. ive owned a s14 silvia in the past and improved performance in that by opening up the exhaust, pod filter and boost tap which worked well. but id appreciate advice and experiece from you guys before I try anything on this. cheers

    Stock Xr6t

Power figure wise im not really too sure. I havent had my car on a dyno to find out what its making. I guess a stock XR6T makes approx 180rwkw?? I reckon 220+ would be just right......for now at least. Can they just be retuned to reliably make that power?? An increase in throttle response would be great. I drove a typhoon and loved it, probably the ZF 6 speed had a lot to do with the way it drove. thanks

    Stock Xr6t

Hey guy just after some quick advice on modifing my 04 XR6T auto. So far its stock just put a K&N panel filter in. From what I've read so far I think the next step is upgrade the injectors to 440cc ones and upgrade the fuel pump and get a flash tune or something? I dont want excessive power and start running into reliability issues etc just something fun to drive. I was told a herrod exhaust was sposed to add 30kw straight away which I doubt as I was told the standard exhaust is a good one capable of 300rwkw. anyways any advice would be appreciated. cheers steve
