Cheers for the reply's fella's. I tried disconnecting the battery for 30 mins but nothing changed. I have read the gearbox ecu stores the "tune" like the engine ecu and so it needs a tuner to reset it. And I have played around with steady throttle and lifting slightly etc nothing seems to persuade it to change. Im about 150k from melbourne but I think I may need to run it up to pitlane for it's 75k to see what they think. Thanks for all the suggestions. I really dont want to sell the car. Pete

Hi guys, I own an 08 bf xr6t that I love with one LARGE exception. At anything more then mild throttle in 3rd or 4th gear it will get stuck in gear and rev and untill it is changed manually. I have left it for a few minutes before to see if it would eventually change up and it never did just ticked along at 5k rpm. I brought this up once before and everyone said it was normal, but surely everyone cant accept this automatic box failing to change gears automatically as normal. So has anyone managed to fix this issue? My local shop was real keen to sell me the ford zf oil for $100 a litre. It's due for it's 75k service soon and I would dearly love to resolve this else I think the vehicle will be up for sale soon. Please help me avoid that as I brought this car as a keeper. Pete
