  1. I am interested in this also. -What power can the clutch handle in the FG XR6T? -What power can the clutch handle in the FG F6?
  2. Sensible response: A year ago my wife and I agreed to sell the Alpha Spider and go back to being a one car (XR6T) family. I guess that I am lucky in that I am walking distance to the train that can get me to work in around the same time that it takes me to drive. The annual savings though are significant: Rego - $550 Insurance - $1100 Maintenance - $500 Depreciation - $2000 A saving of roughly $4000 per year by sharing a car!
  3. Great read. The taxi looks really good, if only other cabbies looked after their cars in this way.
  4. iPhone works 100% on wifi but on NextG intermittently I get the error which has been described.
  5. I have the same issue. It's intermittent.
  6. Ok I'm in. I'm coming with a mate who also has an XR6T. See you guys there!
  7. 1. Anyone that drives a Camry. 2. People who change lanes in front of me to get pole position at the lights, and then proceed to drive off like a nanna when lights turn green. 3. Altezza tail lights. 4. People who don't speed up sufficiently when on a freeway onramp.
  8. Having said all of the above, the last thing I would do in this situation is to try and offload the worthless XCAL product on some poor unsuspecting bloke.
  9. I am an owner of an XCAL1. when I purchased the item 3 years ago The manufacturer specified that it had a certain number of "lives", where it could be transferred to subsequent vehicles, as long as the previous vehicle was flashed back to stock. The fact that the manufacturer has decided to discontinue this product contrary to the terms in the original purchase is very disturbing. I would not buy any XCAL item again on this basis. In fact, I presume that XCAL1 owners should be entitled to some sort of refund, as the terms and conditions of the purchase have been breached by the manufacturer.
  10. Congrats. Could you please describe the main differences between BA and FG. I'm thinking of making the same step up soon. Cheers, Jake.
  11. We are at Appolo Bay. 14 cars, great weather, senational!
  12. Ok, Im going to try to make this cruise. I hope to see you guys at the Shell servo at 9am. Cheers, Jake
  13. Hi guys, thanks for the replies. My questions weren't really about dyno rwkw but about which car would be quicker on the street. I am looking to upgrade from my modified BA MkII to a stock FG. Surely someone on here has jumped from a mildly modified BA or BF into an FG?
  14. Ok, so it seems that perhaps the FG would be roughly equivalent to my BAII. I think I need to take one for a test drive. I'm impressed by the fact that stock it would be equivalent to my mdified beast. I'm looking to upgrade in the next 12 months, and love the FG with the 19" rims. Jake.
  15. 12.3 @ 113 is very impressive for those mods! I assume that this is not on street tyres? My assumption was that: Stock BA XR6T has been run by the magazines at the quarter mile at approx 14.0sec (~210rwkw) Stock FG XR6T has been run by the magazines at the quarter mile at approx 13.1sec (~235rwkw) The FG has a smaller turbo and less lag, therefore the peak power does not tell the whole story and it would get the quarter in around the same time as a 250rwkw BA - with the larger turbo. Obviously, a 12.3 sec BA would destroy a stock FG XR6T.
  16. I have a manual 2005 BA MkII with a custom tune, air intake, valve springs, and intercooler that makes 250rwkw. I have never run the car at the track, so I its hard to say what it would be capable of. I know that Stock vs Stock the FG XR6T is about 0.9sec quicker than BA XR6T 0-100km/h and also to the quarter mile. Given that my BA is modified I was wondering which would be quicker? I am thinking that perhaps they would be about even? Jake.
  17. I'm hooked on "racing live"

  19. Well, I had some time to think today, and came up with some questions: 1. If an intercooler is too large - would this create lag due to longer time required to pressurise the system? Assuming cooler is large enough to cool the air down sufficiently in the first place. 2. Does the BOV plumbed back into the intake system on a manual car reduce lag by dumping boost back into the system, reducing time required to pressurise the system for the subsequent gear? Sorry if these are silly questions...
  20. I have the NM of a truck!
  21. Pfft... 600 CCA is the go! http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...mp;#entry782995
  22. Apologies - slightly off topic: How much power can the stock FG clutch handle ?
  23. This stuff looks like the shizzle: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-85515200479269460
  24. Yep. I replaced the rear muffler with a stock one off a BF that I purchased from another member. Fixed the problem straight away, and its all good again. The note is so much better now! Cheers, Jake.
