Yeah have got the one with the screw fittings....just waiting to see if its worth installing it. Will it void the turbo warrenty ? most likely ?
-
Hey guys, I have a FG XR6 T and want to know if I should install an EARLS inline turbo filter as I am worried the stock filter and pipe may be blocked or starving the turbo of oil. I have heard numerous horror stories. Is the earls filter a good replacement ? Or is it just as good to clean/replace the stock ford filter. Do you think the 65000km without the filter ever been cleaned could have been starving the turbo of oil ?

Yeah thanks guys....it has to be a hose...im losing about 85% of my boost. I have booked it in to get it looked at on Wed. Just hope its nothing more serious. Might have to think about some afermarket stronger pipes if these cant even hold stock boost for 50000 ks

Hey guys My Fg xr6 turbo has developed a major boost leak somewhere around the turbo area. I have a had a look for obvious things. Pipes look ok. Could there be a problem with the turbo itself ? It seems to spool fine with no noises. Just heaps of air coming out somewhere. Doesn't do it when o rev it in park. Only under load.

Fellows there is a reason I have not said much on the forums my solicitor has advised me not to say to much particular negative I would not want a case of defamation on my hands. to give you guys a update FPV have acknowledged there is a problem. there is another guy in the same situation as me both of us have sought legal advice. so far I have had a diff replaced, steering rack repaired, two pcv valves replaced, a new cat, rear brake was leaking and replaced and a power steering switch replaced. and I only noticed yesterday that the new diff is leaking oil. when I get confirmation from FPV on exactly what's wrong with the motor I will fill u guys in. I would not want to scare any one off buying a new GT I think this is a isolated issue.
-
hey fellows, just got back from NZ no new news on the car as of yet FPV are still working on a fix. however my diff hs started leaking and I mean a lot. a car with less than 4k on the clock has engine problems and now diff. I will keep u fellows posted as to the progress. Cheers Cranny

Sorry guys I have been flat travelling with work. the updates so far: my dealer cant find the fault. Fpv Engineers cant find the Fault. there is another case exact same up in Newcastle I have spoken with him and the dealer. FPV practically rebuilt and replaced parts in his motor and they couldn't find the fault.(his car was shipped back to FPV) My dealer has told me to keep driving until he gets further word from FPV on what to do. I am quite concerned iam driving around with a car that sounds like a 1927 ford on start up and has a very loud ticking ratching noise on throttle. when I first took the car back to my dealer it took them three days to check over my car and on the third day I received a call saying come pick up your car there is no problem everything is normal. I was very frustated to say the least I marched down there and took the service manager for a drive in under 30 secs he agreed there was a problem. another thing to add was those three days that my car spent at the dealership I was told the car was locked away out of the weather and on two occasions the car was left out in the cold under a tree. great way to treat a unhappy FPV customer. I dont want to rant to much but you guys get the picture. I will keep u guys informed as to what happens next. I also have recordings of the noises which I have sent to the dealer but still they insisted they were normal.

Thanks Fellows I really do appreciate you guys support it actually takes away most of the anxiety. On a positive note this is the best car I have ever driven the power is insane and the fit and finish bar any problems is amazing. I would still be this cars biggest ambassador. I do not in anyway want to state that FPV or FORD make bad products and I hope that I didn't scare any one off one of these vehicles because they really are amazing. I just found out today that a bloke at work owns the new R35 GTR paid 160K for it, the first track day blew a gearbox. just goes to show no car is bulletproof. I think I will call FPV tomorrow to discuss options. my only concern is exactly what bunna said the way the dealer handles it I hope that the technician that works on my car wont argue and try and tell me that my motor is a pushrod(like on the phone Today). Thanks Guys I cant believe how much support I have gotten, we should organize a drive day so I can meet a few of you blokes when my car gets better obviously. Cheers

thanks for all your replies fellows. The funny thing is that I tossed up between the GT and the F6 for so long. and I thought well if I want to Mod it the GT seems like it makes more power and more reliably (FORGED EVERYTHING EVEN THE DIPSTICK) I was wrong I should have stayed with the Taxi Rocket. I had 4 I6 falcons and not once did I ever have a problem. my brother has still got my Au falcon Xr6 now with 432Ks on it thing still runs like a machine. In the end of the day I love fords and will stick by them until the day I die. its like following your favorite footy side sometimes it hurts to watch. I will keep you guys posted on the progress so far Ford have been really good.

Cheers mate, should I go back to the same dealer, the reason I ask is that I bought the car from Power ford Castle hill and I live near sutherland and work in the city. I was going to take it to macarturther as a member on here said it would be the best dealer. Cheers
-
Thanks for your replies guys, does anybody on the forum work at ford or know anyone that I can trust to project manage this thing. I am happy to let ford fix the car I jsut want it done properly. if someone could recomend any dealer that would put me at ease. Cheers guys.

my biggest worry is that they fix it dodegy and I get a second grade motor the rest of the cars life.

who is the best dealer in Sydney to go to. thanks guys I am so devastated any ideas on what it could be. my thoughts are collasped lifter. is that hard to fix.

HI Guys, 335 GT BONE STOCK (not touched) so much for a Bullet proof motor in the new GT, I was driving tonight and droped back to second to overtake a slow vehicle next minute the engine starting making a really loud ticking noise almost like a failed lifter. the noise gets louder and faster the more you accelerate.(So loud that you can hear it over the top of the supercharger.) now the car seems to have lost power. I did notice however this morning on a cold start that there was quite a loud bearing slash tappet noise coming from the drivers side bank. it went softer as the motor got warm. Brand new GT up the creek, what are my choices take it to a dealer that has no idea about this new engine (no one even nows how or what oil to put in) I am devastated. any can help me.
-
HI Fellows, I have to take my new 335 GT in for its 3k service next week and I need a couple of things fixed. such as the steering rack makes a clicking noise when turning side to side. & when on really cold mornings the Drivers side cylinder Bank gets a rattly tappet for about 20 seconds thens its gone complety. any ideas ? also what oil do you guys recommend they use a castrol 5W-20a(ford want $25.00 a litre for it and u cant buy it anywhere) from factory which is like water, I want to use a royal purple 5 -30 what are your thoughts. lastly which is the best ford service centre in or around Sydney to go. I really want these things fixed I didn't spend 70k on a car for it to have minor probs in the beginning Cheers guys I always appreciate peoples input.

Good stuff mate, it does sound like a different car. sorry guys but I never thought I would say this but I like this car and the power delivery over my typhoon. its incredible.

It is really easy there is two vacuum lines that connect onto the actuators on the back of the mufflers. pull out the little vacuum line and plug it with a screw and cable ties. the vacuum lines are pretty much a boost line so when you drive normally they shut. as soon as there is boost it opens. really simple and easy once you have a good look. just remember to plug the lines as these go right back to the motor and u dont wont unfiltered crap getting sucked in. onces you have removed them. your car will spit and crackle like a real V8. a mate of mine heard me the other day and said it is the loudest and nicest v8 he has ever heard. and this bloke lives and breathes LS V8s (Expensive Daewoo Garbage) Cheers

Hi fellows, I bought a brand new 335 GT nitro Manual, leather and no srips. the car is awesome, I will get some photos up soon. I cant believe the power diff between my Bf Typhoon and this animal. I used a G tech meter last night to check 0-100 times (just for break in purposes) and I cracked a 5.1 sec amazing for a car with 360 kms on the clock. I also disconnected the bi modal flappers, what a difference the car sounds like a v8 super car now. I am over the moon with this thing it is by far the funnest car I have owned. someone mentioned to me that by opening the Bi modal flappers I would decrease back pressure and loose power. I cant see how this is possible when they open fully anyway on WOT. I thought there only purpose was to quiet the car down any one shed some light. LOVE THIS CAR Cranny

thanks for the replies guys, just a quick question I have found a few GT demos but all of them have stripes (which I dont like) the dealer has told me that they will come off easy and wont damage the paint. however he wont give me a guarantee. has any one taken ford decals off before. what do you guys think will it damage the paint. this demo has 7000kms aswell so it would have been in the sun. Cheers
