  1. I got the bars and the hard lid on the bf when they first came out, dealer didnt even know they existed!! had to have it right or wrong, then when I got it, realised the tourno hooks were still on. spoils the whole look. didnt even think of asking to have them deleted, just figured it'd be common sense they wouldnt put them on. as for useablilty, the hard lid on them is an absolute waste of a ute! anything slightly higher than your average esky and you got no chance, can get quite frustrating...
  2. mate ive had nothing but trouble with mine, even had one snap off leaving the hole and no lock at all!! like said above, avoid ford, go to a locksmith and get decent ones instead. or, save up and get the ones that you can unlock with the push button...
  3. buy a ute, bigger fuel tank means you get more k's, therefore makes you feel better. that's my backward thinking anyway.........
  4. thanks mate much appreciated, just an awful lot of "bits-n-pieces" cars around at moment hey. cheers
  5. Gday all, just after a bit of assistance. Saw this car for sale, nice looking T, low k's, decent price, but has a chrome strip that runs around the car. sticks out like the proverbial!! im pretty sure the fairmonts had this strip, but have any of you seen it on an XR?? http://www.countrycars.com.au/Southern/lar...&location=A

ha ha, reckon I've got the drive between kiama and berry covered as about the quickest you can do it without being seriously booked or becoming part of a tree, but outside of that I dont even try mate!!

well, the test drive never happened yesterday, spent all arvo mon and some of yesterday morning cleaning, polishing and detailing, then had some work dramas which meant I couldnt go in. Was all keen to go in this thurs, then last night when parked in a car park, I looked at my ute, all clean and polished (1st time in months, well since my wedding in Sept!!) and got all sentimental about it. Thought to myself, silly to get rid of it just yet when I still really enjoy it. In reality, the car in question was a bit of a mystery, the dealer couldnt tell me anything about it, like mods etc, and I was a bit hesitant to go for a car that is so easiliy modded without knowing what had been done. That and the fact that if I wait 6 months or so till the FG is released, I will have paid off an extra $4k on my ute, meaning I will have more bargaining power, maybe even on the new model, if not a runout BF. So, unfortunately I will have to wait to become a legitimate member of the turbo club, but thankyou all for your help and advice, this is one of the best forums going around and I might just stick around if its ok to have a lowly V8 driver on here!! And Derek, cheers for the offer mate, sounds like a weapon you got there. If your ever down Kiama (I work in Kiama) or Shoalhaven Heads/Berry way let us know, ill see what a real sweet ride looks like!! Thanks to you all, see you round the streets Paul

I'm in Nowra mate. Other question for you all, they're after $34990 for it, 15000K, May 06, man, stock interior, polished intercooler?(havent asked details about mods yet). From what you have seen or valued does this sound like a decent price? Alreadychecked redbook etc, but they are usually a bit off current values. oh, and never driven or been in a T, going to test drive tomoz.
  9. like has been said, turbo rental is not really possible, however it is possible to rent an xr8 which would give you similar fuel figures. rental for the 8 was through Hertz, but the bloke renting it was a gold member or something and was in the navy, which I guess may give him more choice. worth a shot but.

thanks fellas, its good to see a bunch of people that love their cars as much as you do. think the general consensus is that compared to the BOSS, with the exception of the rumble, there wont be too much to regret. the car in question is an 06 with just under 15k on the clock in ego. looks pretty clean, gonna try for a test tomorrow. anyone point me in the direction or got any pics of this colour on cars that arent stock, eg with different wheels, cleaned and polished etc. could be getting closer to a T by the minute

    V8 Regrets

gday all, im a new member here and was after some advice from those who obviously love their turbo's. I currently drive an XR8 ute and was seriously considering trading on a nice XR6T I spotted. Now I know that the turbo's are a pretty special car, hence the reason I for the dillema. Have any of you owned a BOSS, traded on a turbo and then regretted the decision. Obviously if your on this forum, you hold the turbo's high and so do I, but I think I'd be heartbroken if I got rid of my ute and then thought "bugger". Thanks for your help Paul
