It's a tight squeeze to get behind to piping, I'll take off the piping and have a look at it tomorrow..
-
its not the black screw on top of the plenum near the cold side pipe is it?
-
Does anyone have any pics of where to install the vac hose off the BOV to the back of the plenum? I cant find where to attach it.
-
yeah definitely need a tune dude. my car was chuggin all over the joint at full boost (when it was stock) just when I fitted the cooler. The AFRs were ridiculous. a nice tune, modified or aftermarket exhaust, injectors and u are set!!
-
would that help open up the bov at all? can I reduce the flutter somehow?
-
Hey guys, Real brain dead one for u.. I've had rapids V2 kit on my car for a about a year now and always had been running no BOV, so I just decided to put an aftermarket one on, but it doesn't open, even on the softest setting, I put the stock one on that's been vented but cant even hear the thing over the flutter. (running 10psi btw) What my question is, could the reason that the bovs are not opening because I've hooked it up wrong? I cant for the life of me remember where the vac line goes on rapids setup coz its been blocked for so long. My boost gauge reads vac but no vac line fitted? is that normal? I've attached photos of how I have it running now, where do I run the the vac lines to? The hose underneath the bov is going to the boost sensor. So as u can tell im a fkn moron when it comes to changing little things around so as much info is appreciated! Cheers -Christian

Hey all, I tried searching around on the forum for answers I've been looking for but got no luck. I Got a few questions; What im wanting to do is install an aftermarket head unit under the bog standard ICC (not premium), 5 channel amp, 4 5x7" all round and my sub.. now I want to get it all fitted. JB have quoted me a little over $300 to do the install but I did the install in my old car so im more than happy to do it again myself and save some $$ (JB can do the deck cos I really CBF) Does the tissue compartment have to be cut in the middle to fit the head unit? or is there aftermarket housing that u can just replace the stock one with? I've never done audio in a falcon so is all this worth the head f**k or should I just get JB to do it for me and be done with it? Cheers - Christian

So does a slim kit need to be fitted or can we make do with the standard one? I got rapids piping so that should make it a lot easier.

I'm interested as well because im having similar problems to the first post... I've done; - Rapid's V2.0 cooler - Deleted centre muffler + hi-flow cat - Custom 10psi tune - Liquid LPG system Except mine is a little different. its a BA Mk1 Auto and thru first gear, it hits 10psi no problem but then once 2nd kicks in the boost drops to 4psi then jumps to 7psi and fluctuates for a bout 3-4 seconds then jumps up to 10psi again thru the rest of the gears. what my tuner told me is that it could be to do with the actuator or torque management kicking in reducing the boost to save the auto. also, the timing doesnt back off. but he reckons most likly its the torque management. in a couple weeks im changing the valve springs and a re-tune, I'll keep you guys posted with a verdict does anyone else know what it might be? also, on the Mk1's, whats the "safest" boost level I can run before I start breaking sh!t?

my mate had a GSM controlled alarm system on his R33 about 3 years ago and he could call the car to start it up... but then it had some issues so he uninstalled it. Anyone installed 'Python' alarms on their car? Are they any good?
-
well im not married and I dont have kids...... that I know of who will install it though? bcoz I dont think places like strathfield or autobarn will? will a normal auto elec do the trick?
-
haha nah I have a valid reason for mine. Its on Liquid LPG and takes like 20 - 30sec to purge on a cold morning ..so its needed
-
yes you can get it installed? or no you can't get it installed?
-
Hey guys, I was thinking of upgrading my alarm in my car with a 2-way pager type set up (I.e Viper or Black Widdow) ever since my GPS was stolen at work about 5 months ago. I was told a while back that a remote start cannot be installed in a BA Mk1 as the immobiliser won't allow it, is that true? can u get a remote start installed? Cheers.

how'd I know that was gonna come out?... :banghead:

**UPDATE** Hate to bring up an old post, but I just thought I'd give you guys an update! Since I last posted a few mods have been done. The LPG kit has gone in since about Dec 08 (thanks John @ Ices Performance) FMIC (stage 2 from Rapid), delete centre muffler and new High Flow Cat....... now just in the process of tuning my car with John at Ices. A few problems with my computer (courtesy of Ford) is delaying the tune but once its done, John hopes to hit around high 200s running at 10psi. Just a mention.. this bloke know what he's doin and he'll look after you. I've dealt with a sh*tload of mechanics in the past and none have been as trustworthy as much as him. I take my car every time to him now. (even though im 50km away from the shop) Awesome job mate! - Christian

Hi guys, Looking to change my cat in a few weeks to get my T tuned properly. To fit a stock zorst system, what are the sizes for the inlets? Came across this and was wondering, would this fit my stocker on the BA? or am I better off going for one of these? Also, im lookin to push 260 - 280 at the wheels, would a 200cpsi do the trick or would I need a 100cpsi?
-
that's sweet as!.. id love to hear your spooling too lol did u have many dramas fitting the kit?
-
