    Rotor Upgrade

jack up car take off wheel remove 2 bolts holding caliper on use a wire hanger to support caliper while changing rotor tap rotor from behind to loosen compress piston to get caliper back on(some people say use a clamp or such, I just use brute force) put everything back on(make sure you have slots going the right way) bed in new rotors simple? if your not confident, let a pro do it for you. Would only cost about $100 from local mechanic
  2. lol RAS I was on your arse on the way down, and a little daihatsu that came from nowhere was right on my arse.
  3. BA2's only came in manual so strike that off your list. Diff between BF's I thought were just cosmetic. Correct me if Im wrong!
  4. aarrrhhh just got home now. Blew the lower hose off the turbo going back up mac pass. No boost = very long drive home. Thanks to Reg for keeping an eye out for me though on the drive home ! How much damage do you think I caused the motor keeping it under 2k all the way home for about 150kms?
  5. ill be in for the 9pm slot thanks
  6. fark, just spent 10hrs cleaning my car and now the rain clouds are overhead!!
  7. BAH! Harry's to robbo pie shop or nothing! Crusing with 15+ cars thru Sydney's traffic lights would be a nightmare. Worst yet hanging out with all the ricers at stanmore maccas which has a carpark that fits about 20cars.
  8. never driven the 6speed man but I have driven the 6sp auto and they are a fantasic box. Living in Sydney Im sure the ease of not having to change gears in peak hour taffic would appeal to you

  13. I visited 2 well respected tuners recently. The first couldnt stop raving about VCM saying it god's gift to this earth and all that. Even spent time showing me a whole bunch of different tables from my old custom tune(which looked like sh*t BTW). VCM didnt seem from what I saw to be in beta. Second tuner then went on to rubbish VCM saying it doesnt have all the tables and paramters that SCT have. So im like hmmmm who is BS's here?

  16. I dont see the point of getting a cheap cool then upgrading in 12months. Do it right the first time. Spent the ~$1k on a decent cooler instead of the ~$300 you want to spend on a cheap cooler. Save having to install it twice and get much better performance
  17. have you got an aftermarket stereo setup? Did you install it yourself or get a shop to do it? Im no expert but I would check the connections again on both the front and back of the car and give them a good clean. I presume they are brand new. I would also check the earth connection to the body of the car. Make sure you have a good clean connection there going directly to metal and not paint. Have you got a meter? check the voltage at the front of the car and then again the rear while the car is running to see how much voltage drop there is
  18. farout spoilt for choice in sport tonight! How the hell am I going o watch the F1, the ashes and the tour de france all at the same time... lucky im on annual leave at the moment so can stay up late
  19. its always funny when someone mentions "work to rule" in my employment. I work in infustrature for the railways and during our last battle with the state govt for our 4% increase someone mentioned at a union meeting that they were going to either strike or "work to rule". I just thought to myself, dont you work by the rule anyways. If you dont work by the rules and something goes wrong your basically up sh$t creek without a paddle if you caused an incident were there was a fatality Ofcourse this would probably be alot different in other industries and the police force.

  22. are you talking about the hose locator bracket that is bolted on to the caliper? If so that bracket is different between the standard setup and the premo setup. I discovered this when I installed some premos that I got and found the gromets on the braided lines wouldnt go into the bracket and were too long. I think your on the right idea getting some custom lines made up. Unfortunately I had already installed the lines when I discovered they were wrong and as such are just floating ATM untill I can sort something out.
