  1. its pretty rough comparing us Aussie roads to US roads. Compare NSW to California. Cali has half the area, 5 times the population and The Terminator as governor whereas we have a half yank/half aussie chick who will be here today gone by the next election. Driver education is the key IMHO. Our L plate and P plates are a joke. Proper driver training embedded in school would help heaps.
  2. we drove up yesterday, took 13.5 hours but that included 1.5hr lunch to meet family and lots of stops to feed a crying 6month old. Roads for the most part going up the pacific was good and your right trying to go thru kempsey was the only nightmare. Had everything from pouring rain to bright and hot sun. The run after balina was pretty good, seems they must of improved that bit alot from what I remember, totally bypass that part going past GC airport which was always a slow and banked up. The T made it without a drama although I kept it off boost due to gearbox and weak rod concerns. Saw a heap of cops, most were on bikes hiding in bushes with radar guns.
  3. I hope you're right. I reckon I have at least a 3 week wait to find out if it was on or not.
  4. no flash but got worried and googled it... SYD: New Red Light & Speed Cameras ! [locations] - A place for all Ralliart Colt Enthusiasts the first one on list is exactly the intersection I am worried about. Actually Im more worried that if I loose my licence, I have an agreement with the old handbrake I would sell my car as she reckons it encourages me to speed...
  5. help me out here with some answers.. I think I just got busted going thru one of the combined sped red light "safety" camreas on the citywest link at haberfield. Was cruising/daydreaming with the flow of traffic but going about 70-75kph. Saw the red light and gunned it. Went thru the intersection at about 80, then slowed right down before I hit the other side as I saw the 60k sign. Pretty sure I went over the first white line while it was still yellow. No flash though and I went past about 2pm. So would I just be busted? knowing my luck speeding and red light. 3 points each infringement plus double demerits = 12points gone lol.
  6. if you like Top Gear and like listening or reading what JC writes, this makes for a good read Jeremy Clarkson Car Reviews | Driving - Times Online
  7. wow Buf that's pretty impressive to get up there is just over 10hrs. Im only going to the GC should in theory it should be about 45-60 minutes less but in reality will be closer to 12hrs due to having to stop and feed kids and let them run around. As for leaving midnight, Im bad for microsleeping, so plan is 5am bright and early. Kids will still be asleep for a few more hours. 5am is what time I normally go to work so its no big deal for me
  8. driving at speed around corners and sweeping bends is the last thing on when I got my kids in the car. Infact I barely get it over 2500rpm as it scares the sh*t out of my misses. Unfortunately I have to take my T. So heres hoping it makes it without a hitch. It will be the longest trip it has taken away from my tuner and trusty mechanic.
  9. So in a few days Im taking a big trip up north. Trying to make it in 1 hit driving Sydney to Goldie with 2 kids under the age of 3 in the back. Wanting to be as quick as possible(within speed limits ofcourse). What is the quickest and best way to get to the gold coast, the Pacific Hwy or New England Hwy? What should I look out for and any tips and suggestions? I havent driven up there in 10 years and the last time we went we took the pacific but with a heap of trucks and road works
  10. if you find some one local let me know, Im keen to get mine done aswell. Maybe 2 for 1 special? I know of a place that has usually quotes $300 for a front bar to get re done. But that was for a camry with a few scrapes. I wonder if it will be the same for a XR6T. Pretty good work and a sponsor of the Parra Eels
  11. or you can go to bunnings and buy a $99 karcher pressure washer and it would pay for itself in 33.3 weeks going by your formula of washing once a week.
  12. The Honeymoon A couple were on their honeymoon, lying in bed, about ready to consummate their marriage, when the new bride says to the husband, "I have a confession to make, I'm not a virgin." The husband replies, "That's no big thing in this day and age." The wife continues, "Yeah, I've been with one guy." "Oh yeah? Who was the guy?" "Tiger Woods." "Tiger Woods, the golfer?" "Yeah." "Well, he's rich, famous and handsome. I can see why you went to bed with him." The husband and wife then make passionate love. When they are done, the husband gets up and walks to the telephone.. "What are you doing?" asks the wife. The husband says, "I'm hungry, I was going to call room service and get something to eat." "Tiger wouldn't do that." "Oh yeah? What would Tiger do?" "He'd come back to bed and do it a second time." The husband puts down the phone and goes back to bed to make love a secondtime. When they finish, he gets up and goes over to the phone. "Now what are you doing?" she asks. The husband says, "I'm still hungry so I was going to get room service to get something to eat." "Tiger wouldn't do that." "Oh yeah? What would Tiger do?" "He'd come back to bed and do it again." The guy slams down the phone, goes back to bed, and makes love one more time. When they finish he's tired and beat. He drags himself over to the phone and starts to dial. The wife asks, "Are you calling room service?" "No! I'm calling Tiger Woods. To find out what the par is for this damn hole."
  13. drove out to Penrith last night on the M7 then onto the M4. Saw 4 yes 4 Fg F6's. 2 white with Dark argents, a green and black in the space of a few minutes. On a side topic I dont ever recall seeing a FG GT/GTP. I wonder was the sell ratio is between the F6's and Gt's
  14. I read of stories about these type of cars in the Nevada desert. They start off on the road and usually take flight and end up crunched up metal on sides of the mountain they crash into
  15. the only way we would be able to get rid of the state govt is for them to vote themselves out....Unfortunately even they arent stupid enough to vote themselves out of a job and a nice fat pension
  16. I had the exact same thing happen to me(very embarassing watching half a tank of 100ron premium fuel @$1.49/L spill onto the ground at the servo. When they found the rubber seal and tried to put it back they found it had expanded and then had to order me a new one from Ford. On top of the when I first got the car it wouldnt start in front of their shop. Seems the dodgy hose that came with the walbro pumps had come off and split. So they replaced it with a gates submerisable. All this service and all they charged to actually change the pump was $80 lol. I think they would have lost money just on replacemnt parts alone
  17. RBA? since when has the Reserve bank been selling brakes?
  18. what do you mean FPV wouldnt allow it. How could they stop it? They obviously bought it at auction as a write off and can do with it as they please. I enquired about it as I wanted the brakes and wheels, but all the wheels are buckled and it only has 4pot brembos/pbr rears.
  19. you must have a strong pop up blocker on stopping you from using it. I just temporaily allowed the site and works but in saying that dont bother. I just tried with my misses Camry and it was $350 more than what AAMI wanted....
  20. Found this video. Some informative bits to it, but gets ridiculous at the end. They answer a few questions on BOV's and also answer that question of "Can you have a BOV on a non turbo car?" Look out for when the connect a wire to a car battery using just electrical tape....
  21. I remember reading somewhere that before the Territorys were release, Ford tested all the 4wd running gear in falcons. This was done as to not spoil the launch of the Terri's before it was offically revealed. But who knows how much was chopped and changed to get it all to fit
  22. A big Thank You Reg for organising all the cruises. Really appreciate all the effort and co-ordination you put into running these things. and as usual I can wait for the January cruise details to be posted. Oh and I'd be up for a mid week cruise if Im not working the late shift.
  23. so your putting them on your BA typhoon or your next project?
  24. in epsiode 3 they had a new 2wd gallardo and the stig didnt take it round the test track on a power lap....instead they drove round a POS kit car lancia stratos......which went round in the slowest time ever . I love TG but definitely no one of my fav episodes
