The 5 sp in XR6's is a T5 and in all sorts of things, was a good G/box but just can't handle the torque of a 4L turbo

Still cant see that power curve DJ. If it is still losing boost iv got plent of duct tape.

If it is the waste gate it will have to be jammed open not allowing the turbo to build boost. Sure you havent put the BOV in backwards!

Mate speaking from experience 5 speeds can go bang with very little warning, mine got out and walked at 80K, easily eating up the 5k difference. The six speed is a totally different box and is as tuff as nails. The 4 speed autos seem to cope a bit better but who wants a car with only two peddals. I really wouldn't worry about the BA motors being a problem unless you are planning on making big power like 330 RWKWs. Keep saving or expect problems down the track. Stop stressing mate, it will all be alright, just check the levels when she gets home, some spirited driving will usually clear any airlocks and as for over filling the overflow its not going to hurt it. You are now qualified to work at Fraud or Yoda

Looking at buying a wrecked BF MkII XR6T auto for the motor, just wondering if anyone might be interested in some bits and pieces to make it worth my while. I imagine the NA boys will be keen for the turbo kit but what should I do with a low k auto. The other thought is to turn it into some sort of burnout beast but seems a bit of a waste.

If ya want a better finish I reccomend removing the brakes for a good clean and then paint the brackets black for a bit of contrast. Doesn't make em work any better!

Yeah that was me in the blue XR, it was a pitty I had it handed to me the whole way, but fun to try none the less. Djkice that was my duct tape and im sure its rated for 10 PSI ,plus its on the hot side so no chance of sucking it in.

hey Mat looks like ya got the same kit as me, including the one black silicon joiner in the same place. I also had to wait about for 4 weeks to recieve a kit with no instructions
