  1. Exactly my thoughts F1performance just hope the clowns at ford can see the same.
  2. My BA is tuned my FG is stock.
  3. Have asked my mechanic to write a report but it's pretty obvious that the valves made contact some time ago. Spoke with Head exchange to see if they could disassemble the rest of the head to look for more bent valves or strange wear patterns they said I need to get the Motor trade association to do the report as they have more clout and will be willing to go to court. Nuford called me before lunch to say that they still are waiting on a reply from Ford so I guess I'll just wait and see.
  4. Should I clear up that I had a mechanic pull the head off today just happens that I helped him in his workshop.
  5. Valves are not designed to make contact with the pistons and this has obviously happened. Not sure if I should remove any valves from the cylinder head to see if there is a slight bend on them or if I should get prehaps a third party to investigate?
  6. Had the head off today and found marks on all the pistons! The marks are quite obviously from when the timing jumped 2 years ago as the car has had nothing done except the log book services. So I called ford and told them what had been discovered and they said that the valves couldn't have been bent as they did a compression check. After a heated discussion I ended up down there, which didn't achieve much,. but at least they said they would send the details on to ford and see what they say. I have attached a pic (note it is not the relief cuts on the pistons but the small indents opposite them)
  7. It didn't drop the collets just let the head go
  8. Don't think I will waste my time, anyone have a complete motor laying around or should I look at going the rebuild.
  9. Hi Guys Has anyone ever heard of FG's droping valves? Unfortunately today mine did, It is stock as a rock and 9 months out of warranty so I think this is going to hurt. The car has always been driven hard but at the time it went wrong I was driving on the cruise control so I certainly didn't rev it too hard. The only thing I can think of is that about 2 years ago it broke a chain guide and was fixed under warranty, is it possible that it tweaked a valve that long ago and only just let go today?
  10. Happy Birthday blueprintbullet!

  11. yep same thing happened to me on my fg ute. Strange thing was it was the week after my gearbox failed, they asked me if id had it on the dyno and I told them to check it themself she's stock as. Fortunatly no damage occured and they were able to fix it within the week but it left a real sour taste in my mouth.
  12. I know its old news but haven't been on here for a while but hey LOOK who I spotted having breakfast on our floor after the AC/DC Concert
  13. Ok so I spoke too soon, less than a week and the rattle is back. Im sure whatever it is I could easily fix but that's not the point so ill send it back
  14. yep I got mine from pedders for about the same and can honestly say that at a few months old behind 300rwks in a manual they seem to be good enough
  15. All fixed thankfully it was driving me mad ford had a look at it at the first service found the handbrake cable had come unclipped
  16. Mate mine is doing this too, so im guessing it is something to do with the handbrake cables. Will see what fraud has to say when it goes in for its 15k service. By the way its a FG XR6T ute in auto
  17. 13.067 stock FG turbo ute at 107Mph with 2.172 60' on stock 18's. Maybe we need a stock time sheet
  18. you'll have better luck catching crabs in Northbridge
  19. I second the motion, mine no good either. Ric. yep mine took two attempts and some swear words from Simon to see it right, yet these guys are the best in Perth
  20. Try pulling off the hatrmonic balance first gives ya that bit more room
  21. With only 6k on the clock this had to hurt
  22. Mate don't know how many kays ya have but it might pay to throw some new bearings at it as ya have got to have the sump off anyway they wont cost much for some peace of mind.
  23. Managed to squeeze a 13.06 out of my FG ute first run so very impressed
  24. Things didn't go exactly to plan but still had a good time setting a new pb of 13.2 in my manual BA and 13.06 in my auto FG ute so well impressed at the ute unfortunately the BA rode home on the tilt tray as Sammies launches managed to destroy a CV
  25. Thanks XRO6T I did give pedders a call and got one of there complete shafts (2xCVs,shaft) for the price of a second hand CV. They sell these as a upgrade to XR6T and XR8 so only time will tell
