  1. Hi Guys, Noticed my lowered G6ET is scrubbing one of the front tyres very badly. Looking for a good suspension place to do a full alignment some where around bayside Melbourne. Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers, Pete
  2. Have to say I was a bit sceptical about this modification so had not done it. I was down at Jaycar today and thought id pick up the male and female crimp plugs (PT4518 & PT4522) and make a bridging harness so I could reverse the polarity and see if it did anything. Have to say the difference is fantastic. The car actually now has some bass. Well worth doing this modification for anyone that has the premium sound. Pete
  3. I have been lucky enough to have a GT-P for the last couple of days and have to say, it is absolutely great. Having driven my G6E Turbo for the last eighteen months I have been exceptionally happy but wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the supercharged V8 From start up these things are amazing. The sound is just brilliant. even at idle, the rumble is unmistakable V8. once you start moving is when the supercharger whine starts and you really get an idea of what these cars can do. Power delivery is so smooth and constant. unlike the turbo that starts of smooth and then goes crazy once on song, this is just sheer consistent grunt. The other thing I noticed was how good the brembo brakes are in the GT-P. Before driving one of these cars I could not understand how people could spend so much money on a brake up-grade. I now understand why. Style wise I like the outside but not sure about how I would go long term with the seats. They are absolutely fantastic, but it does take a little effort to get in and out. (My wife likes the seats in the G6E better) The touch screen navigation system is great and very easy to learn. I also like the new ipod integration better than the one in my car. With the new system, you use an existing ipod lead that plugs into a USB port so rather than stuffing an ipod in the centre console, you can even hook up an ipad with the length of lead you have to play with. So having thought my next car would be an F6 I think it safe to say I may just have to buy a GT-E if I can stretch the budget. Pete
  4. Happy Birthday PCW!

  5. If you tell us where you are based someone will give you a heads up on who is good to check your wheel alignment. Worth spending the dollars on a decent alignment as it is far cheaper than replacing four tyres once it is too late. Pete
  6. Hi Guys, Photo of the Laser on glass (In side) antenna I installed a couple of months ago. So far has worked very well. (mainly used line of site etc) Pete
  7. Last time I needed touch up paint I went to Fraud and they wanted to charge me $35.00 for a little bottle of the stuff. Ended up going to Super Cheap and paid $11.00 (I am lucky though the car is winter white so the match is fine)
  8. Not sure if this help. I have these on my G6E Turbo. Pete
  9. Maybe give these guys a call and have a chat. I also need to speak with them about a similar issue. http://www.advancedalloys.com.au/home/ Cheers, Pete
  10. I would buy from the one who gives you the best deal. that's why I bought my G6ET in Brisbane and drove it back to Victoria. (The Melbourne dealers were all obviously on "crack" looking at the pricing they gave me) Cheers, Pete
  11. its not bad where it is and although in line of sight for the passenger I think OK (it is just out of the sweep area of wiper). not sure if you can move closer as it actually indicates in the instructions to keep it 150mm away from the pillar. (Would possibly be a case of trying it closer to the pillar before final install to see if it makes a difference.) I mainly use if traveling in the bush to speak with trucks going in the opposite direct. (good to find out where the double ones are hiding) Pete
  12. Thought you guys may be interested in a recent CB antenna install I did. I was not wanting to put an external antenna or through glass UHF antenna and came across the Axis UHF brand that mounts inside on the windscreen that is a direct connection to the UHF CB. So far the performance has been great and am very happy for what I use it for. ( on highway listening and talking with other vehicles to see where traffic issues may be etc) Cost is around $50.00 plus install time. Cheers, Pete

  15. The wait will be worth it Carter. I have had mine for over twelve months and still love it. I was comparing the G6ET to my brother's current model BMW M5 that I drove for two days while in S.A. last week. Value for money, ride quality and performance these cars are so underrated and definitely give the euro's a run. Pete
  16. Hi Guys, Looking at doing something like this on my G6E Turbo. Any recommendations in Melbourne around Mentone that will do a bolt on dump pipe and high flow cat? Will also need a tune. Cheers, Pete
  17. One of mine did the same. I ended up buying another set of clips through spare parts.
  18. As a side note to the Ford wiring loom, you may need to clean the plug cover as when it gets dust and dirt in it, the reverse sensors some times don't cut back in when you disconnect your trailer plug. Has only happened a couple of times but apparently the way it works is via a magnetic switch. (I was a bit confused why my reverse sensors didn't come on after I unplugged the trailer) Cheers, Pete
  19. I pulled the towbar off my BF series II when it was being grounded and had it put onto the G6E Turbo a few months later. (I had bought this off ebay for $100.00 a couple of years before) You need the Ford wiring loom as it disconnects the reverse sensors when you open the plug cover to plug in your trailer. (hope this makes sense) Pete
  20. You can get internal glass mount antennas that stick to the inside, not very high power I think around 2.5db. this is fine if you are using it to monitor and speak car to car or close to line of site. www.ebay.com.au/itm/UHF-Transparent-glass-Antenna-/260780096879?pt=AU_Electronics_Radio_Equipment&hash=item3cb7b47d6f GME use to do the programmable UHF that you could program the different UHF emergency services into. not sure if they still offer this as the Police etc have changed to different frequency. The other thing to look for is the new UHF radios that offer 80 channels. Apparently the current 40 channels will be fazed out in the next couple of years and you will need to upgrade to these new ones. Suggest you have a look at the GME and Uniden web sites for further info. Cheers, Pete
  21. Suspension city in North Melbourne is where I got mine done. Have a chat to the boys I'm sure they can help you out. (they can get the SSSL springs if required, they can also cold compress them if you want) Pete
  22. much appreciated gentleman. I can get the KU31's from Advanced tyres for $225.00 per tyre fitted. will also check out tyresplus. Cheers, Pete
