Just replaced my drivers side this week, I had problems getting the mount out of the top bracket, it was very tight. Couldn't get the new mount seated all the way into the top bracket either which was annoying. Anyone else have that problem? I'm just going to wait a couple of months til it settles then go in again and retighten.

I'd be interested to hear what a no speed camera's political party would have as policies for maintaining revenue. Face it, without increasing tax for EVERYBODY, or allowing problem gambling to flourish there are limited ways to get the money. It would be nigh on impossible to find efficiencies in spending as practically everything is already privatised these days and there are no government workers left to sack (in Victoria anyway). I would prefer inattentative drivers who don't have the skill to avoid being detected pay for projects and other things rather than spreading the cost among the general populace. Its cameras or nothing gets improved, pretty simple economics.

Bingo, some people like to think they are the first person ever caught speeding since the technology was introduced in this state; or that they have some sort of awesome edge to play in court that will secure victory. Basically you get off using technicalities like this

Please tell me you have everythnig he promised in writing, or at least email. I don't know how things work up there but in Vic one of the first points of call would be Consumer Affairs Victoria for some free advice on avenues to pursue. Letter from a solicitor would be into the hundreds.

Like most electrical devices they require testing as part of commissioning. However I wouldn't count on stories in the local paper or ribbon cutting ceremonies by the minister to give an idication as to when its detecting actual offences. Best person to ask would be DOJ or contacts within Aspect Traffic if your in Vic.

Well obviously not to be taken literally, I was in fact having a go at gutless wimps who deny deny deny, or just flat out refuse to admit wrong doing. Like dudes in Melb who hit run, then go home strip their vehicles down, then once caught play the "I panicked" card.

I don't think they will lose sleep over it. Unless he has a history with drugs or similar he wouldn't even be on the radar. As for saying nothing, that can be just as bad and infuriating. People should just man up and take the consequences for their actions. Sooks are the sort of people that do hit runs.

All, My lower control arm bushed at both ends and on both sides of the car are shagged. Just wondering whether there is a particular bush that people are happy with or whether I just put more Ford bushes back in. Thanks in advance Mick

The SS wagons are generally fitted with a dash mounted moving radar. Arguing this case would be purely based on technicalities, like proving the device wasn't used in accordance with the manufacturers specifications/guidelines. If he knows he was speeding he should just cop it on the chin and not be a whinger.

Nothing stopping them doing that now. Considering the mega wages paid to workers in this country it is already cheaper.

If these big companies are so soft skinned and pull out I'm sure someone else would be more than keen to take over the business. So like I said as long as there is profit in it, someone will always be keen to go after it unless they pull out and keep every lease in the country (unlikely). Which ever company keeps mining would obviously need to hire the labour to do so, so job loss is another scare tactic. More jobs are actually threatened and lost by sending manufacturing overseas for cheaper rates, which is why mining is more secure employment. Can't exactly do that with a site dependant business. Production being slowed is also a scare tactic being thrown around, if anything production will have to increase to offset reduced gain from the tax, which would mean more local jobs as projects would have to come online sooner. To infer that production would be reduced by the companies because of the tax is mental, the shareholders would not tolerate that big a drop in $$. As long as the stuff is still in the ground someone will want it.

As long as the mines are making a profit they aren't going anywhere. As if someone isn't going to whinge in the worst way possible when there lifestyle is under threat. They are just lucky they can afford the viral media campaign to match the governments. Personally I don't care for big business, or big money as greed makes me sick.
