  1. yeah I don't reckon they are trying to take me for a ride because they walked away not interested, but the thought did cross my mind. Arron that'd be awesome, let me know when your free and I'll supply some beverages!
  2. I'm in Atwell It was doing a few weeks ago before I had it serviced and they replaced one of the coil packs, put in new plugs and put an injector clean through it which seemed to make it better. I just havent really been pushing it to full boost to see if the problem came back, blissful ignorance I suppose. Could it just be the coil packs?
  3. G'day, I've got my BA Mk II up for sale and had a bloke come look at it who bought his mechanic mate. Anyway they took it for a drive and came bak saying the turbo is blown or it has a blocked intercooler. I hadn't noticed it previously, and the car just came out of a service so I tried to get it to do it again. Basically once the car is on full boost it starts to cough and shudder a bit, and that's about it. So my questions are: If the turbo is blown how come you only notice it at full boost? What is the best way to diagnose it? Can you recommend a good mechanic in perth to check it out? Also the bearings are starting to make a bit of noise, nothing that sounds fatal yet but its probably not a bad idea to get them changed too, do you have to get a whole new core? or can you simply replace the bearings? The car has done just over 185000 kms. Cheers
  4. G'day, Ive got a 2004 BA MkII XR6T with 160,000 K's on the clock and recently when I have gone to overtake or something and the car has hit full boost, the revs have jumped up around 250-500 Rpm and then settled back to the appropriate level as the car accelerates. Obviously it sounds like the clutch is slipping, I just find it strange that once it slips, it is gripping again without any modulation of the throttle. I would have thought once it had slipped, the only way to stop it would be to remove some of the torque? Thoughts?
  5. G'day I've had my '04 BA mk II XR6T ute for just over 4 years after buying it used from a dealer. About a year ago the clear coat started to flake along the top of the door, the top of the front quarter panels and a few spots on the roof. It hasn't gotten any worse over the last year however when I washed it on Friday, a massive coaster size chunk of clear coat came off the genuine ford hard lid. Im not really sure what has gone on with the car, if the quarter panels, roof and doors were resprayed as part of a crash repair why is to bonnet still ok? Would the paint damage on the hard lid be from the same repair? And most importantly is anyone responsible or am I up sh*t creek without a paddle, and have to pay to have it all fixed myself? Thanks guys
  6. G'day all, just picked up my new baby, a 2004 BA MK II XR6T Ute in rapid with the sports leather interior. anywho, I spend a lot of time at the beach then driving home semi-wet so was looking at those waterproof seat covers. just wondering how well they work and whether its worth buying them or better just to sit on an old towel like I always have? cheers
