  1. Usually, yes. However, that's what the big deal is with these amps, direct line input AND rca input etc. So plug in the speaker cable and voila, digitally converted sound that is very, very clean.
  2. rather than in line boosters etc, try trhe new amps I am looking at, the new alpine digital range take the speaker line in, convert it "better" than even a bought signal converter or any in line converter and then amplify the "clean" signal, or that's the pitch...New JL amps apparently do the same. Your thoughts? see linek http://www.alpine.com.au/technology/pdx.asp
  3. Thanks everyone, a big help. I now believe that mine is stuffed, no doubt. Will go back to Ford but still considering if it's worth upgrading the componenets myself. that's said, I have heard many times that it is the DECK itself that is sh1itting itself...?? Everone says, do not bother upgrading this or that because the head unit/deck is poor in output quality....?
  4. sounds like your right, mune is terrible.
  5. Hi All, Just spent well over 2 hours searching threads and various upgrades that people have had. I also read about people having their sub changed upto 3 times, replacing standard components (speakers/subs) with better ones etc. My question is this. Is the "premium sound" on my new RRP $70K (almost) car THAT CRAP??? It sounds farkin terrible IMO. Sh1ts itself on radio at 14.. CD on 12 -16 and it's popping, the sub pops.. Dodgy amp perhaps? Head unit stuffed or Cheap Ford..? Any audiofiles please tell.. If it's useless (as I suspect) then I want to keep it looking stock, but want a MUCH better sound. So I have read up (heaps of great threads guys) on getting a new head unit, using VDO/Alpine/Other units to convert the in line sound to a better quality sound output etc. However, the easiest, best, cheapest solution is say a JVC DVD headunit for $500 and replace subs/amp/speakers, say further $1600 but then it's an ugly looking setup... Can I get stock look/Kick arse sound without the hiss/crackle etc? Any and all help is appreciated.
  6. Congrats on the system, I was looking at the Alpine hub pro too, do they now ONLY sell the good/US one? Or do I need to be careful? Ta
  7. so cat included, through to twin 2.5's (so is that twin pipes through to the tip V single with twin tips for looks huh)? Nice, thanks for your help.
  8. yep, mine was registered 2 weeks before I bought it, never driven though. Had 7 klms on it (on/off trucks whatever). cheers
  9. o.k, so where is Melb is a good place for a "decent" cat back system? Cat through 3.5 to the rear keeping factory tip? any first hand experience or recommendations? I am sure Xforce is good and I hear you on the product backup, I have emailed the guys on ebay and had no response for a few days now. That means nothing I know, I am sure they are great. Just makes me think that I would rather see/meet the people who sell it and get them to fit it off, locally if anyone feels a particular shop is a goodie. Ta
  10. Maybe some delaers are getting factory kick backs? Paid $51k 3 weeks ago for a new R Spec, auto, leather, no roof. Getting ready for the new car no doubt.
  11. Cheers, sounds like a twin system may be the go! Now, ebaaaaaaay! I agree Joey, your description is exactly what I want in a zorst..
  12. Cheers, I hear you. Now, to get to that first service... :banghead: Any more X force feedback..?
  13. so 3 thou sound right?
  14. Thanks guys! Appreciate the info and sharing of experiences. Keep hearing about X Force...hmm Forgot to mention, only travelled 500 clicks..would you wait a few thou and if so, how many thousands clicks do you reckon? Ta
