Ok lads, this weekend Im gonna do a full service on the T, are there any other lil tips amd tricks I can do to get her going perfect?

yeah It was the thermostat it was closed tight and wouldnt open. Glad to hear that the engine has overheating procedures so it wont hurt itself cheers guys.

Hey guys, was driving the T home 2day and it started beeping like mad at me, looked at the Temp gauge and it was in the RED! anyway like 3secs after it beeped at me it and it shut the engine down and ran like sh*t, I waited a while for it to cool down, after that started her up again and bam the same thing, so I kept it off and checked the thermo stat, sure enough that was it, changed it and its back to normal, after that took it for a long drive and all seems normal, question is do you think it whould have caused any engine damage? are they ment to turn off or run like arse like a limp home mode when there over heating??
