Any Ideas For Group Buys? - Window shopping for blokes...
a topic replied to XR6 Turbo Developments in Group Buys
Is there any intrest in group buy for Walbro Fuel pumps ... Ive had a few PMs so im thinking of doing on.. Let me know if your interested... These are Wlabro pumps and kits to fit XR6 Turbo with hoses and all hardware not to suit Mustangs like most others sell.. Around the $155 delivered Australia Wide... Let me know. Jim -
I only distibute them with my Turbo Upgrade kit.. G&G Perfomance Concepts actually manufacture and distribute them.. They can be contacted via my website.. Jim

The X-Force IMO sound a little tinny and is made of lower grade of stainless steel as well.. Ive had an X-FORCE next to an APS and the quality of the X-Force is no way near the quality of the APS.. Take the Y pipe on the X-Force where the cat finishes and it splits into twin 2.5 pipes! You will see exactly why you are paying $1400 for a polished stainless steel exhaust system and getting what you pay for.. I know of a few people that refused to put it on until they cut the Y piece off, ported and smoothed it then put it back on the system.. Power wise the X-Force may outflow it on the dump pipe side BUT there are cars that make 400RWKW with an APS exhaust system using the 3" dump pipe and run 10s all day.. Downside of the APS system is the cat!!! Shocking... I had one that the metal element came loose, tappered itself to the shape of the flange and wedged itself into the flange. I know of may people that say to hell with it and gut them... Your more than welcome to come and have a listen to my APS exhaust both at idle and at song... Good luck in your choice..

I havnt used Mick at Pitlane but I have seen some of his cars and they really move.. Have talked to him a few times on the phone and at his workshop and he seems to really know his stuff.. Give him a call.. Headsex is a really good tuner but he does it as a hobby so Its hard to get him to do it as he is busy as hell with his day job as well... If you can get him to do that would be my first choice.. Jim

] Got it from CAPA yesterday mate.. It has a date etched on the back 26.08.2007 which when I saw I was like WTF! I have tried everything with this thing to get ot working firmware, 3 different versions of LiveLink etc... you name it. It connects to the ECU and reads the HAANF strategy and updates the PIDs no problem its only when you start the loging and turn the car on it does nothing! Anyways I tried to deal with SCT a while back with some other issues and they just said call CAPA so im not even going to bother with them. I called CAPA this mornign and had a chat with one of the guys there. They said that the unit is not a big seller in Australia and they have only only SOLD a few of them and had problems with all of them. I then asked them if I was to send it back would they replace it with either a SF Strategy Flash Device or ford flash 2 But I cant tell the difference between tem.. All I want to do is store my tunes and be able to datalog as well... Jim

Anyone Had Any Luck Datalogging With Livewire?
XR6 Turbo Developments posted a topic in ECU Workshop
Hey all just wondering if anyone here has had any luck Data logging using SCTs LiveWire? I cant seem to get the damn thing to work LOL... Can anyone shead any light on it? The box seems to flash the car okay with custom tuned and is able to identify the HAANF strategy but doesnt seem to be able to read data... Even the on board data logger on the LCD seems to drop communication after 2 seconds when trying to datalog. Ive updated the latest version of Livelink and updated the firmware which has at least allowed a CAN connection but no data :( Thanx -

The track is sticky as all buggery. I had a chat to one of the scrutineers and he told me they spent 20k after the crusty demons 4 weeks ago to get the track sticky again. About time I reocn.. -

Well done to FSIX with the 10.8 was great result! I could only sqeeze out an 11.7 @117MPH with 1.78 60ft.. Had a few issues with the throttle body closing which im not sure why its doing it while I was stalling it but ill sort that out this week and hope to chop an 11.5 before I put a plenum on her. Well done Danny on the 11.4... Hey what about that old Chev truck whos wheel and axle came off?? Anyone see that LOL. -
Thanks for that Simon. Try this plug mate NGK BKR6EIX

If the gap is too small you will find it will just blow the flame out causing it to sound like it misfiring under load. gap your plugs to 0.8mm What were your AFRs when it was pinging? Lean it out a little and just pull some timing out of it. Running it rich will foul your plugs. You best bet when you get a few $$$ is get a custom tune done on it. You will be amazed just how much power it wil pick up... Good luck with it.

Yer it does have some seriouse go in it. What diff gears do you have in the back of that thing??

Ineed we did PURV Who else did I spot that night? Headsex was out, BADZLA was out as well with HINRG, Excellent F6, sh*tbmxrider was cruzing around.. Was good to see everyone just cruizing and being sensible... Jim

I enquired with SCT about this Friday Im just waiting for them to get back to me on it.. I hope to hear from the in the next day or two. The software will be locked to one vehicle only. Its suited for the do it yourself tuner... If it works on our cars ill have copy of it this week... Jim

You will also find that a larger actuator allows the turbo to spool quicker as well. It allows the wastegate flap to stay shut longer allowing boost to build faster.. We offer a wastegate and flapper modofocation at a very affordable price. Jim

Force 6 What Are Your Thoughts?
XR6 Turbo Developments replied to Russ F6's topic in FPV PERFORMANCE INC.
YES mate I noticed that as well which im also 6 ft 1 and I was too high up to be confortable. In saying that after sitting in the FG so many times in the last week I found the same issue. The seats would not go down far enough Apart from the interior I really like the Force6 and have always liked the look of the duco. -

I went to the ford dealer again to see if maybe they had FG XR6 Turbo on the way but they didnt. They had an Force6 in the S\hand lot and to be honest with you have always likes them until I actually sat it in... The RED seats just killed it! What were they thinking Some people may like this but I think it look crap and can see why they have not been so popular... Now they had a typhoon in the lot as well and after sitting in that I wouldnt even consider the Force6... Jim -

Seemed like I was taking sides but I wasnt. I think that there are some good points to each argument and the funny thing was it was just a hose off the boost controller that caused the overboosting!
