  2. Thanks for the write up Punchbunny. Makes me feel like going out to do a few test drives again. Enjoy your new beast.
  3. So does this mean that now your posts will have alot of content as when you do get to log on you will have alot of catching up & ranting to do. I will miss your 40 to 100odd posts per day though. Well some of em.
  4. I think it is a great idea. Would be great to see it running as a comp. with voting by members on the different categories. Most T's owned by a forum member: Me
  5. Three more sleeps & my loved ones are back from the UK. 5 weeks has gone quick. Man it is gonna be a culture shock for me having toddlers running around the house again. Sh*t better get the girlfriend to move out.
  6. Having a bad day?
  7. Confused blondes....Look closely they are holding numbers
  8. First arrived 20 Dec 02 and what a glorious day it was :o (Now if only I can remember my wedding anniversary..... :o ) Anyway around 78,000 to 80,000km. I still love driving a T.

    BA MkII

Me too. Probably not until late January or early February. Haven't decided on colour yet, might get a new one. ie Shockwave or Rapid.
  10. You forgot thong wearing, lamington eating old codgers.
  11. I don't have any problem with police doing the HWP speeding thing as when it comes down to it, it is up to the individual on duty to make a decision if to fine someone or not. Camera's on the other hand I dislike greatly. Interesting read on the stats VG, thanks for that. Would be interested to see how things are on a national basis. I suspect that camera's now account for the bulk of monies raised.
  12. I also do alot of km's for work and stuff, around 42,000km per annum. When in towns and stuff I try to stick to the posted limits. That said I quite often exceed the posted limits out on the highways. I try to stick around 10-15km above the limit. Any faster and I know I have a good chance of being done. Last time I was booked was about 4 years ago. Last time I got a warning was about 2 months ago. Had a really good chat with the bloke. I guess it depends on what sort of day the policeman I travel past is having. I try to wave to say g'day to them if I see them in time. The double demerit bit does suck, but when I get to see the quality of some drivers on the highways that holidays bring out I guess I can understand it. I think maybe I've been lucky so far. (touches head) I also know that if like you I get done a few times, with double demerits it doesn't take much to lose all my points. And yes I have all 12 of them. My opinion, I think the current speed laws are draconian and govts continue to feed the masses to get away with it. Until standard driver education improves we are stuck with what we have and it will only continue to get worse. I'm sure there was a thread around here somewhere that included politicians address's to write to. Various car magazines have details on who to write to. Give it a go.
  13. Today is the big day for you. Congrats, Enjoy etc. etc. Your dealer hasn't rung you yet to tell you about the delay in getting the PD done has he?

    please have a look

Bad stutter you have there geea. Understandable though when you are looking at Boof for maybe the last time. I know it happens all the time, but isn't it great (not) that the insurance company will write it off, then flog it again calling it repairable. Still as with the rest of you I am interested to see what he goes for.
  15. Yer good action flick. A little to hollywood in the end for me. More people needed to die to cover things up. But then they wanted to leave it open for a sequel I suppose.
  16. Thanks for a great day Serge. Sorry I didn't do the train bit, but it just seemed that bit to far in the wrong direction for me. Hail , let me tell you about F#*ken hail I was just north of Yass on the Hume when it hit, everything turned everything white and there was no cover for miles. The only way to keep going was to follow in the tram tracks of a couple of trucks. Here we all were travelling down the Hume with hazard lights on at 30km. As my windshield wipers began to stop working completely I finally made it to an underpass where I could try and clear the ice. My car was covered front to rear in 20cm-40cm approx of ice. I could not even see the boot spoiler until I cleared it off. My windshield wipers were bent and the drivers side ceased to work althogether. (stuck upright) I didn't have my camera with me which was a bugger as it would have made for a great pic. Anyway made it though the storm without becoming one of the unlucky who slid into ditches, trees, one another etc. My baby has been too and got a clean bill of health from the smash repairs and my dealer service has fixed my windshield wipers, so it is all good. Apart from that I had a great day it was good to meet everyone and the convoy did look mighty impressive when together. Look forward to the next one I can get to.
  17. Ah... After crawling out of my sick bed and look at the sky things do be grey in my part of the world. I hope that as I travel north to the tropics of the Gong that the sun will show it's face, for it's a cruisin I go. A few of questions.. 1. Where in the Gong is a good car wash? and 2. How many people will be kicking around the Gong tonight? Anything planned? Food? A couple of ales? Sorry for the late appearance it seems this last fortnight has been lost in a flu haze for me.
  18. I think they will definetly buy a turbo if/when it is built. How many XR owners in previous models had 8's before the turbo's. I know that before the turbo came along my big goal was to get an XR8. Then the turbo appeared and changed all that.

    BA1 v BA2

I doubt this will be the case. When the BA first arrived in 02 and the wait for Turbo's was unbelievable Other people and mysekf were still able to buy at fleet pricing. (It just took some shopping around) I don't see Ford having the same massive interest and supply issues as they did then. On your choice of car, if it was me, and I wanted a manual to modify I would wait for the Mk II.
  20. Wow this thing has passed the joke thread in page length. It seems it will never end. At least it is somewhere for me to post when I have nothin to say and am going through post withdrawal.
  21. Yay, just finished with a work audit and now just have to pack the wife & kids off to the UK next week and I will be a free man for a while. It's off a cruisin I go. I'm just sorting out if others will be coming along & should be able to let you know by the cut off date. Look forward to seeing everyone.
  22. I think you have got a good price. The Luxury pack + onroads should push it out to about $53,000 ish rrp. Don't know why there is difficulty with colours. If it isn't built yet it is just a matter of the dealer changing a code on the Ford system. Vibe will grow on you, maybe, it is an aquired taste. Good luck with your shopping.
  23. Try shopping for deals and then make a decision come late Sept. Both Holden & Ford should have more info as to what is available then. $46,000 to $48,000 for those options may involve alot of dealer hunting. Good Luck with it. Bang for your buck, the T is the way to go.
  24. Steam Train you say.. How does that involve driving down/up mountainous twisty roads? 5/09 should be good for me, wife & kids will be O/S.
  25. Sounds like you got my car. Well done I'm sure you will enjoy. ...Crap..How so? I have got the 18's and haven't had any problems.
