Unless you do serious track work and like to walk away while the car cools down in the pits a timer in a street car is a pure novelty (wank?) device. water/oil cooled turbo's only need a minute to resume operating temperature even from extreme conditions.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Mundaring weir road rocks. the cop station closes at 8pm so only minor police presence. It also keeps attendees under control until we're out of the metro area.

Fantastic turnout. Lots of decent cars and map was a nice selection of roads. Unfortunately the number of attendees far exceeded to the number of maps printed. anyone here have roll on's with the blue rx7 :-)

Nice call Mat. Lads I've entered MV since 2000. Highly recommended event. If I'm happy with the way my phoon works out I may even enter. A good recipe for mv is to get a group entry confirmed and entered BY AUGUST 2008. This shows organisation and commitment from a club level. The layout 'usually' runs with a marquee for out of the sun fun and night time shenanigans as well as a small mobile cool room and a bbq. You won't regret doing it. Jme

Street Scene in Wangara are pedantic mechanics with alot of experience. Highly recommended. Tuning wise, seek out Ant (Anthony) from Xspeed in O'Connor, he is more than capable of tuning the Barra i6 Turbo.

Only if you have a seperate 'race' tune using a higher octane fuel. Once tuned for the optimum boost level of say 15psi, you could run a closed boost control setting of the factory 5 psi and run increments of your choice up to 15. You're running less boost so no need to worry about the state of tune unless you exceed the 'tuned' boost level.

Yes, accuracy of gauges is suspect with some cheaper units, so if it sway a pound or two I wouldn't be too worried. Hook up a mechanical hydraulic air gauge and it should give a fairly accurate measurement. Or as mentioned once on a dyno, hooking up the manifold pressure sensor will also give an accurate measurement.

You could always run a stand alone boost controller. Run 5psi on daily commute, and switch to 10psi, 15psi settings at the flick of a switch.

Does anyone know if the triangular plastic section above the middle console in the non fpv falcons fits in place of the double gauges. Reason being I'd like to fit 60mm gauges there and wanted to put a flat section there instead of bastardising the gauge pod in place.

Finally picked up the taxi today, goes suprising well for a factory tune, but the turbo lag associated with the oem tune is a joke.

Couldnt find anything directly related here. Im aware an edit is available for the ZF auto. My question is, does the edit improve the shift speed at all. I.e. from the time im flat out in gear, tap the shifter its a little delayed before engaging the next gear. This being an issue when you come on hard sideways and it bounces limiter. any info appreciated. cheers Jme

Just picked it up today, going to give it two months before carrying out the mods...... will be a loooooong two months :D
