  1. This is incredible I can't believe this is going to happen. This will kill the aftermarket scene in QLD and people will just drive stockers everywhere except the track. I don't think QLD will get any car enthusiasts visiting from the other states if they fear their car can be confiscated. And WTF? something legal in NSW can be classified as illegal in QLD and there goes your car whilst you are on holiday. Instead of Govt's cracking down on drink driving and eliminating single lane high volume highways that are responsible for 25% of deaths on roads...they go for the easy cash cow.
  2. Excellent! I thought fpv were hinting last year at a spare parts business were you could buy authorised enhancements like these larger rims. I wonder if that's still on the cards.
  3. http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/fastestever-ford-falcon-gt-20120813-2445m.html More details on the gt r-spec....and yep it is 275 on 9 inch rims! Just wondering is it legal to swap out the 245 on 8 inch rims on the f6 rspec with these 275 on 9 inch once they become available on the aftermarket.?
  4. The latest motor mag has a full pic and more details on the panther. It's officially being called the gt R-spec. Same 335kw but with the expected upgraded suspension and tyres designed in collaboration with Shockworks in Melbourne. Quarter 12.8sec , 0-100 high 4s. It looks like the boss 302 mustangs from the US. Nice! Reading between the lines there is a hint that 2013 will bring a new model...I expect this to be the Gt Tempest
  5. http://www.carsales.com.au/news/2012/large-passenger/fpv/fpv-plots-new-model-onslaught-31320?intref=ed-news Read past the stuff on the panther ...the tempest looks more exciting!
  6. When all of senior management gets sacked it must mean a) some forecast was badly missed b) the bean counters are back in control and the difference between fpv and ford will be even more minimal as costs are slashed. I just hope they don't put some accountant in charge who believes the way forward is cost cutting vs listening to enthusiasts and delivering a product they want. At least rod barrett actually raced the products fpv sold and delivered the f6 310 and the boss 335. 2 great fpv products which put them at the top of the game in 2008 and 2010. I was hoping to upgrade when the hoey returned...but this announcement doesn't instill any confidence that this will ever happen. Bring on the Shelby gt500 if that's the case...

  8. If you click on the "show press release" on this link below it shows that team rs in Europe and svt in USA have joined up to form performance vehicle group. I wonder if fpv will eventually join this group as part of the global one ford strategy. I would love to see this 5.8 liter 351 motor in a gt-ho down under. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/08/2013-ford-shelby-gt500-convertible-chicago-2012/
  9. Happy Birthday revhead_71!

  10. Pics From Facebook http://www.facebook.com/FordPerformanceVehicles?sk=info Other than getting gun metal grey boss 335 rims, projector headlights and a 8" touch screen sat nav system I hope 3.5 years of f6 development brings more than this... Official release is tomorrow...Monday 5th dec
  11. Always go for something more unique. Get the f6!
  12. Unfounded speculation? 1) Wheels mag had hinted at a 351kw Allan moffat edition earlier in the year 2) Fpv have registered gt-h and both motor and wheels have hinted at 375kw 3) the current issue of motor mag has the true 295 tyred gt black concept going thru it's paces 4) fg2 has been announced for ford so the Fpv fg2 announcements can't be far away Timing might not be spot on given the latest Bathurst result so fpv might vary their approach but if you put all the above together you can bet that a higher powered greater than 335kw (although it maybe denied) gt-h intercooled model is on it's way and it will have all the handling bits that the motor mag true gt black concept is wearing. I was hoping that the gt-h would be announced at Bathurst ....but surely it can't be too unrealistic to expect once the Fpv Performance parts business gets going.
  13. Just got an email from Fpv to check out their new website next week. I wonder if something is going to be announced. The newsletter also acknowledges the phase 3 victory from 40 years ago but that's about it.
  14. Given it's been 40 years since the hoeys conquered Bathurst is anyone expecting some new Fpv releases next week? Will it be 1) gt-h? 375kw 2) Allan moffat edition? 351kw And with the current f6 in $59,999 runout mode has anyone heard anything about what to expect with the fg2 f6?
  15. Go to http://www.airbagproductions.com/index.php 6th row , in the middle and see the original television commercial for the F6 Typhoon R Spec Limited Edition "Fully Blown" Also having driven a standard Bf F6 and a Fg F6, the R Spec does provide better turn in on corners in my opinion. Others may not agree but its interesting that FPVs own testing with John Bowe shows it is 1.5 sec to 2 sec faster around Winton than a standard Bf F6 Check this out: http://www.carpoint.com.au/news/2007/large-4x4/fpv/f6-typhoon/rspec-typhoon-heads-fpv-limited-edition-drive-4745 However im pretty sure that if you are serious about tracking an F6 you would go aftermarket with the suspension ie Whiteline, Bilstein etc and get 6 pot Brembos front and 4 pot Brembos back. The lack of 6 pot Brembos as standard on the R-spec (as oppose to being an optional extra) was a major oversight. With rumours of a future F6 R Spec still in the air...I hope the next version gets a power upgrade, even stiffer suspension and 6 pot brakes...but I wonder if FPV have given up on the F6 as there has been no development of it for 3 years whilst the GT335 has taken center stage?
  16. Is the F6X exhaust also restricted?
  17. Seems to me like someone at Fairfax has a vendetta against Ford. They keep on reinforcing this same crap every 2 weeks spooking would be buyers. This was the same kind of media negativity that killed off Mitsubishi local production.
  18. Bump!....Yeah disappointing no details have been released about the revised F6 with Euro 4 compliance given that we are in July. I wonder if it has been delayed to match the delayed release of the Supercharged V8 which seems to be in September given the Internet chatter. Im surprised that none of the car mags have any scoops etc on it.
  19. I doubt it....I don't expect an 8 speed ZF for at least another 2 years when the mid life model change is done in say 2012...as was done in the transition from the 4 speed to 6 speed in the BA to BF. Although it could appear earlier in say something special like if the GTHO evolves...eg 40th anniversary of the Phase 3 in 2011. (Ok I know im dreaming )
  20. If this really happens (remember we seem to hear this every 5 years or so when they begin the design of the next generation) then I would be snapping up the last of the line F6 and GT as these are destined to be future classics. Imagine the implications for FPV of this decision??...Will we get instead the FPV Focus, Taurus, Mustang, Mondeo? or would the FPV name be replaced with some global performance brand? Shelby eg like the global AMG name for Mercedes With respect to FPV/Ford Australia I really do hope it remains part of Global development program....especially for RWD sporty large cars like the Mustang. Our engineers are world class and its a shame FPV/Ford didn't develop an export program like Expensive Daewoo and Toyota to show the world our cars and engineering skills. Now getting back to the original purpose of this thread has anyone actually heard/have any further info on the new F6 other than what I originally posted? Im surprised there are no leaks in the press, motor mags etc about the new F6...there usually is within 6 months of a change in model.
  21. Exactly.....Nose bleed torque! Bang for your Bucks mods of just 5-6K gets you torque of over 1000nm. that's Supercar Torque from a modded family car. I still can't believe how the greatest engine made in OZ has never been exported.
  22. I was told the F6 power & torque figures from an FPV dealer rather than the mags....I don't see the dealer trying to spin BS if they are trying to make an honest sale in the future. Your comment of "plenty of fuel in the Ford tank yet"...gives me hope that the new F6 will hopefully achieve those quoted numbers. Personally I hope the new F6 gets better rubber - 245s at the rear are a joke for this much torque and paddle shift on the steering wheel to change gears.
  23. Was with a mate on the weekend visiting various fpv dealerships around Sydney. Anyway I was told a new F6 is scheduled to launch in June 2010. It will have 321KW, over 600NM. (The GT im told will be 330KW). Orders taken in June with first delivery from August onwards. Anyway else heard anything about the new F6? That torque of over 600NM should be a cracker!!!
  24. that's my mate Joe "RIPGMH" on this forum. I picked that plate for him.
  25. not sure if these are taken in Vic JETPSI BOOSTD F6 F6 WOOOSH FPV6F6 FPVXF6 DPHOON PHOON6 A personalised plate can make a car...and that's from experience...
