Ok, so I've been playing with the DSP options on the stereo and I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the problem I'm having: I created my own mix CD of favourite songs, and when I enable the DSP, it sounds like its been "robotised" -- I.e. there's a high-speed jagger of the sound. I haven't tested a store-bought CD yet, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Yeah, bluetooth is really useful in these kinds of situation. At the moment, I'm sticking with my handsfree headset until I decide if I'm keeping my phone or upgrading early next year.

Well, I picked up the Baby Beast yesterday at 1pm, all ship shape and gleaming. I was quite impressed with the dealer -- with all the paint and options they put on, it was delivered with only 22km on the clock. First impressions: Man, I hope I'm not responsible for all the pedestrian whiplash I seem to be causing. ;-) The XR600 plates really look awesome (pics coming later today, hopefully!) and the Silhouette paint with the tint makes the car look so agressive. Inside, the car is just beautiful, I can't fault the trim anywhere. The satellite navigation is incredibly easy to use. We've named the voice "Ruth" -- she gets really annoyed when you ignore her directions though, she kept trying to get us to turn right, for some reason. :D I'm going to try and take it up to Parliament House for some pics today and I'll post some shots of the full-screen map system as well.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah too. It'll be especially considering the XR6 sitting in my driveway RIGHT NOW!. (Pics will follow when I recharge the digital camera!).

Ok, this'll have to wait for a few days. I'm picking up the new car in 6 hours.. then its Christmas and stuff. Hope you guys can be patient.

I have the font and I'll create a few mock-ups and you guys can let me know what you think. I'm going to aim for business card size. The layouts can be taken to places like QuikPrint for proper card printing, if desired.

I think what he's referring to is an full ECU firmware upgrade to correct that oil temp bug.

My favourite plates will be the ones on my XR6 when I pick it up from the dealer tomorrow: XR 600.

I have some experience with designing business cards and such. If someone would send me the TTF file of the font used to create the FordXR6Turbo logo, I'm happy to create some templates (in formats like Word, PDF, CorelDraw, etc). If I'm stepping on someone's toes, though -- let me know. Its just that not everyone will have a colour printer capable of printing that logo decently, so a good (and simple) black and white version would probably be appreciated.

AFAIK, the Premium Audio and DVD Satellite Navigation have the same screen, as Premium Audio is *required* in order to install the SatNav.

I ordered and voted for Silhouette... I still think its the most quietly agressive colour. You can really sneak up and scare the bejeebus outta people in a black XR6.

Right, apparently I'm flying to Melbourne ASAP and will be there until Friday. Yay. At least it'll take my mind off the fact that my XR6 is sitting waiting for me.

There was a Blueprint Turbo waiting at John McGrath Woden when I went to go visit my NA XR6 yesterday. I didn't seen any others while I was there though.

Hell, mine's sitting on the floor at the dealer (I went to go visit it yesterday) and its going to take them a WEEK to do pre-delivery.

"Upgrading" from a 1998 Explorer Limited. I've been driving an Explorer for four years (Had an XLT for 2 years, then got the Limited 2 years ago). Before that, I drove a Golf III Cabriolet (back in South Africa).

Yeah, the Premium Sound and Sat Nav are already installed. The only thing the dealer has to do is clean the damn thing (its really dirty!) and do the paint/cloth/etc protection application. But, at least I've seen it. And I have a definite delivery date and time. I guess that's better than some!

Mine's in about the same condition as LionHeart's: Sitting at the dealer, still dirty, but only 6km on the clock so far. The bitch is that they can only get to do pre-delivery on it next week, so I can only pick it up on the 24th. *sigh* At least I can go and visit it every now and then.

Ok, so my dealer just called to say that the car's arrived, but that its going to take over a week for them to do pre-delivery (excluding all the paint/cloth protection stuff, which takes another day). Is this pure BS or could dealers be that backed up? Any suggestions on things I can do/say to get them to prepare my car earlier?

Well, mine's not a Turbo either, though not because of the expense. I just didn't feel comfortable a) buying a car I hadn't test driven and B) having a car quite that powerful. I'm happy with the speed and acceleration of the NA XR6 and that's all that matters.

Heh. I can make people think I have a Turbo for $26? Dude. Sweet. You'd think Ford would be more careful about who they sold Turbo badges too.

Meanwhile, my one seems to have disappeared somewhere. Not Happy Jan! The dealer says it hasn't been delivered to them yet, but it left Melbourne last Wednesday. *sigh* Hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow. I hate this last-minute waiting.

Yeah, my dealer won't confirm it either and I'm waiting for a call back on a firmer delivery date.

Arrgh. Where did you hear this? My car was supposed to be sitting in Mitchell at the moment, but my dealer hasn't said anything.
