  1. The NA XR6 is rated the same, 12.5L/100km.
  2. The standard wheel is slightly sculpted, the sports wheel is heavily sculpted. Also, I'm led to believe that the wheel itself is slightly thicker and has a smaller radius than the standard wheel, though that's not obvious from the picture.
  3. Just make sure you feed it and take it for walks and clean up after it, young man.
  4. Man, I've obviously gotta get out more. Mine was delivered on the 24th December and only has 1031km on the clock so far. However, trips are planned to the coast this weekend and to Sydney real soon now, so hopefully I'll get to 3000km before the service interval expires!
  5. As you get older, you (may) realise that owning a car is never a good idea, financially. Leasing a car over three years sometimes makes far more sense than actually buying one. I've leased all my cars since the first one I got when I was 20 (Golf III Cabriolet) and I get to change my car every three years too. For the next three, I'll be driving an XR6. Who knows what I'll be driving in 2006?
  6. What they said. Premium sound is worth the wait.

    Mp3 Player

That could be what he meant, but its not what solid-state means. :-) But I am also in the market for a decent high-capacity MP3 player and I'll probably go with an iPod or Nomad C, once I've paid for Christmas. :D
  8. Hey Chris: Did you ever try to see if the Ford CD wallet fits into the tissue box space? Enquiring minds want to know!
  9. Not sure about the consumption, but the recommended fuel for XR6 Turbo and XR8 is Premium Unleaded (I.e. Optimax, etc). My leasing company has also requested that I only use Optimax for my NA XR6 and have covered the additional expense of that fuel.
  10. I'm hoping someone else here has the satellite navigation option! The volume on my SatNav is very low, even when I set it to the maximum volume. It lowers the volume of whatever audio is playing, but the voice-over is almost inaudible when your music is at a respectable level. When I mentioned this to my service dealer, they said they'd need the car for an entire day to fix it, which I find slightly ridiculous. Does anyone know what the fix entails? Or has anyone had the fix performed and could tell me how long it took?
  11. I would say its very likely a Turbo-related issue, as this doesn't happen on my N/A XR6 when travelling at 100km/hour using the cruise control -- she's steady as a rock.
  12. Sorry to burst your bubble, but its Anakin Skywalker. Perhaps CJF will be nice enough to change the spelling for you. Just pop him a PM!
  13. My satellite navigation is definitely female, because she's not afraid to tell me where to go. :D Not sure about the car itself yet, though.
  14. Yeah, I'm kinda the same. I told the dealer I didn't want any stickers on the car, but I'm OK with a licence plate holders. However, the custom ACT plates don't fit into the standard holders, so they couldn't put those on either. Not that I'm complaining. However, when I picked up the car, there was a dealer sticker on the rear window which I got them to remove before I took delivery.

    Mp3 Player

The Nomad C is not a solid-state MP3 player -- it has a 1" 6gb hard drive built in (notebook size). Solid state MP3 players are either a lot more expensive or have much smaller capacity.
  16. I used to love manuals, but after four years of having an automatic Explorer and now having the Sequential Shift automatic XR6, I like not having to worry about the gear shifts in traffic. That and the auto box in the XR6 is smooth as...
  17. Djelibeybi is from the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels. Its the name of a ficticious country, vaguely like Egypt. If you want to know what it means, try saying it out loud.
  18. In the ACT, custom plates are all a once-off fee which varies from $380 (For XX-000 style, I.e. 2 letters, 3 numbers) right up to $3000+ for fully customised. I got my lease company to buy XR600 (the cheapest "custom" option) for my car. Sadly, XR666 was already taken.
  19. And to expand on XR8Chic's question, does anybody know what all the input/outputs on the Premium Audio are? I have the Aux Audio Input jack (well, its being fitted next week), but I'm wondering what else was available.
  20. Pretty crappy, actually. I can't find a version I can convert into a ringtone.
  21. A bit behind?! How about 2 weeks behind?
  22. The site obviously hates me, because I've tried twice and it still hasn't sent me any pictures. *poot*
  23. Well, its still a damn site better than my Explorer, but I'm only averaging 450km per tank (or thereabouts). I really need to take it on a long highway trip and see if it drops. Same though, I'm using the aircon almost continously too, so that's probably having a negative effect.
  24. Alternatively, if you know nothing at all (like me), a good place to start is www.howstuffworks.com -- they have great articles on how turbos (or even just engines) work. As well as hundreds of other articles too.
  25. Its the scuntion plug and it cafibulates the reuptake boost waste inhibitor gas inlet valve. Sheesh, don't you guys know anything? :D
