I took the old man to the Haigslea Motorcyle Museum just outside of Ipswich on the Warrego Highway today. My brother who doesn`t give a wet slap about bikes went there recently and was quite animated ( for him, anyway ) about it. So we went, and even though bikes are firmly in my past now, it was really surprisingly good. Arseloads of bikes, lots of top shelf gear too, MV Agustas, a Goldie, a Manx, XR 750 Harley in flat track race trim, plus lots of classic Jappers . I`m 46 and frankly it was pretty cool walking around thinking: I own one of them, or so and so owned one of those.. $15 to get in with a complimentary coffee or tea and bits of cake or biccies. I`ll whack some pitchers up when I can be arsed pluging my printer in so I can plug me card into that.

At this stage, I should be there after work, I may or may not be covered in sh!t..

Whats good is the quailty of the clip. No jiggling camera action like when a fight breaks out on Jerry Springer and it sounds good. No way Steve filmed this, he`d have been too smashed.

I`ll prolly be at work :( I was dead keen to take out NA 4 cyl with the Drift Spec R Daewoo.

Oh man! Normally I`d have removed the seat, but I just got up under there. I got 2 options here, in the carport and ya can`t have the door open more than barely half, or out on the driveway and its on a hill.. I got LED headsets but had flat batteries, so it was burglar style with torch in teeth.. lol best part is I used the stupid AUX about 3 times and have not used it since...

That had me shagged for a while too, but the impaitent SOB that I am, fitted mine in semi darkness with a lil torch clenched in me teef. Got it sorted though..

I`ll prolly work the saturday. But I plan to walk along a beach with my youngest son, prolly do atleast one kids movie at the cinema. Hopefully, drive my car.

But you`d agree, the 60 foot mark of a drag strip probably isn`t the place for it.. The dirty undies would belong to the hapless shmuck in the next lane.

I`d add a fuel pump to the list.. With what you have planned, the stock one is probably going to let you down, or at the least be a bottle neck. Scotty will supply and fit it for you.

Apu`s BP :D They sell BP100 in 20 litre drums there, y`know.. Though, you`d want a really REALLY high flowing cat for that.

I was standing next to a photographer with a tele lens about 300 long when the guy looped the bike, photographer had his back to the action :( Funny about waiting times, it didn`t seem that packed, just took ages to advance down the lanes. Some guy spoke to Steve and I ( reckon he might had 3 or 14 too many Red Bulls ) whinging about this guy`s Late model camira ute, the owner was AWOL and this other guy had virtually pushed it the length of the staging lanes just so he could advance his own car along. Was piss funny actually.. My car wasn`t there, so I talked it right up..

Incredible bad luck, The Bogan was next car to go and it just barely sprinkled rain. Spewin`.. I was sure that was going to be a street tyre 11 sec. pass. Was some tough cars there, ended up quiet cool too. Some highlights, Steve`s second run against that very cool and extremely tough looking red XY with 2 holleys poking out of the bonnet, it lifted the front wheel, but the purple XRT ran him down and beat him.. You see so many guys who are for the want of a kinder term, friggin` short, on bikes at the drags. What you often wonder about happened: old mate flipped a bike, was prolly a 600 or similar sized Japper. Threw a fair way down the track too, I lol`d when he got to his bike, looked down at it, then gesticulated at the crowd some of whom had obviously taunted him.. It was pure gold, just like the wrestling or summin.. I watched him wheel the bike back off the track, I reckon he got out of it really cheap, not too much damage at all. I reckon LION ETR blue FG XR6T might have needed a change of undies on one run after it really stepped out near paralel with the track at about the 60 foot. But he kept it out of the wall, top effort.

He made no secret of it. I didn`t think I was being disrespectful.

I used to watch that show, it was a tad esoteric, I suppose at the time we may or may not have been ready for the subtle nuance of the driving experience Peter tried to convey. I used to wonder why he had no eye brows too, but that became apparent when it was revealed he liked to spend quality time in the dress up box.. So to speak..

My kids groaned when they saw the Phoon, they knew they`d be walking miles every time we parked anywhere lol.. I`ll park out on the street and walk as far as it takes.. Or take the work car..

The contraption guys had a couple near misses, one guy went arse up in the wheel and near came out.. Guy who fell 20 feet ( atleast ) was on the high wire.. Errrm, there`d have been a time in my life when I`d have signed up for a go o n the contraption..
