Howard told me the 74`s would reduce my front rotor life to about 60,000 klms give or take which is still a little bit better than the OEM Brembo`s. he told me with the 24`s my DBA 5000`s could last 200,000. Perhaps its the new rotors only being slotted in my case. I hate drilled rotors, I replaced the front rotor on my XR600 years ago with one made in the State Rail shops out of boiler plate, no holes. With kevlar mix pads it was nothing less then phenomonal. Stands to reason, no holes means more purchase for the pads on the rotor. But yeah.. I dunno wtf goes on with the pads in this instance.

I`ve never had this symptom, I do pre pump the pedal though when I`m on a hot lap but that shouldn`t have any bearing. Its got me beat there could such polarising opinion. But that the interweb for you.

Okay, I have not nor never will have pictures of my kids on the internet. I`d say the guy craked the sh!t at a non serious bid. However he`s arse pipe for posting such a cokhead picture. Lesson? If you`re not serious about bidding, don`t msg. If you want a better pic, ask for one. ' If you wanna sell something, have a friggin picture of it. Some opinions are best never leaving you subconcious.

Okay! to the Original Poster, there you have it! They are either the best thing since the discovery of electricity or so bad they wouldn`t come OEM on a Tata Ute.

lol maybe something else is broke.. Are you going to do away with the VCT and say goodbye forever to cam angle sensor fault codes and open road economy ?

Sunday week, yeah? oight..

Matt! get it tuned!

It`s weird Danny, I found them so much better than my stock Brembo`s it wasn`t funny. But I did replace the rotors with DBA 5000`s. lol, if you want to be completely confused, ask a question on a forum!

beats the sh!t outa me eh. I not long ago went up a notorious mountain road in my car and drove like mental, I turned around and drove back down and I had consistent brakes all the way, I was amazed. I`ve never had them fade on me and on quite a few occaisons I`ve thought: this it, all over I`m not gonna pull this tank up, but it did. Howard does sell a step up from the RB24, he told me my DBA 5000`s would last only slightly better than the the stock brembo`s and pads which were toasted in 45K. He told me, why not fit the RB24s and then for race days and stupidity fit the tougher pads, after all its as easy as sh!tting in bed with Brembo`s. However, after a few spirited drives I find the RB24`s more than adequate. maybe some are having issues with brake fluid? Also, there is Race Brakes in Sydney that Howard told me is not affliated with him at all, as they were selling crud korean wood fibre pads painted red to mimic his pads.

I am a VERY happy customer of Howard at RaceBrakes Melbourne. As I type I look lovingly at the package that arrived from Howard today. It contains my DBA 4000 rear rotors, RB24 pads and 4 braided lines to complement the DBA 5000s and RB24s I have on the front. RB24s are just awesome in my humble opinion. They work great and produce next to no dust. Howard is a terrific guy who will spend all the time it takes answering any questions you have. He`s a dead set legend. He LOVES Brakes. Australian owned and made. Ring Howard tomorrow.

quote: they don`t walk around the cross with sniffer dogs. F*ckin` A, brother!! Where are the laws of engagement when we`re on the road? Like entrapment, when they come upside you in an SS ute and blip the gas? My Tomtom tells me the limit if I have it on and IF the road info is accurate, which with all the goings on around Brisbekistan isn`t likely.

I think the news reports I heard today sum it up, on one hand some superintendent puppet saying " so many ppl caught speeding, not getting msg etc " Then the next report lowesr easter road toll in QLD in 60 yrs. Now I will clarify by saying I find the annual death count on our roads appalling and it isn`t all idiot 20 yr olds driving like fools. Its families, kids. You couldn`t pay me enough to be the cop who has to deal with that or the ambo or firie. But to kill a snake you gotta hit it in the head, and 5 kph isn`t it.

Probably the only one driving thier own car since Shaz retired, but there will be other chicks present, unless they are over with doing warp factor 4 to somewhere in the middle of nowhere to watch guys talk sh!t. Unless, FPV Steve`s missus drives her Typhoon. Who`s heard from him lately???

Slightly off topic.. I went for a drive this morning down through Beaudesert ( wanted to see how the new road was going, omfg its near done and to see if the old plant was gorn, it is ) I think went down through Mt Tamborine emerged on the motorway and came home. it sucked having the sun in my eyes but holy crap the view from Tamborine, I`ve haven`t been down that way since my older brother did Nasho at Cunungra. If I can go on the cruise, I will, but the falcon will be wearing the final pieces in my brake puzzle. The DBA 4000`s on the rear to match the DBA 5000`s on the front, RB24 pads to match the front ones and braided lines on all four corners. So just LTFO is all I`m sayin`..

Kent knows about the dyno day and in his words " I should try to convince a couple of my customers to attend " Hope he does. Hope they do.

Where, in a highly populated country where that first vid was shot, do you find an empty motorway like that??? Do they call in some kind of bomb scare or what? It always intrigues me.

Took junior to see Clash of the Titans in 3D. Its just okay, bit like Avatar in sandals.

Given the current combination that a few have chosen, stock albeit re-enforced IRS and HUUUGE power I reckon that its going to won in the top end. Either that or someone is going to front with a papier mache' and balsa Falcon, 400 rwkw and some kind of computerised launch control system. Or perhaps a new interpretation of " Manual Gearbox " ie: hollinger but who`s going to spend 60k to prove a point and look grouse on a few forums for a week? The Motown Missile ( Spiro`s car ) missed it by nothing. .047 .. It`s unreal, the car can do it, but its in the lap of the gods in this case the officials at the track. it could come down to false plates and disguises.
-
I reckon the first manual 10 will be 140 mph or close to it.

My clocks are all kewl, cause we don`t do that curtain ruining, cow confusing crap.

I glanced at the F1 practice in Malysia this arv. I was aware the cars had been stretched to accomodate the new bigger fuel tanks and made different for other reasons but this did little to prepare me for the onslaught of rediculous clown car that assailed my eyes when I saw the Ferrari. It is the most deadsh!t looking Ferrari ever. It made me angry looking at it. Its just wrong.

I`ll add this as my final input. Everyone does this, I did. You only consider your own car. There are 2 cars on the track. Now I can not ( thank Christ ) recall 2 street cars locking oars at a test and tune. Okay imagine you`ve left the line and you`re on your way to an 11.8 at 115-120 mph. Old mate next to you sits there building boost and then with his big power car chases you down, at the 1,000 foot he`s caught you and sprays coolant on the rear tyres at 120 mph, he has front runners and baggy slicks and could`nt drive a nail into a watermelon anyway. He drills your rear quarter, first thing you know about it is the BANG! cause you`re fully focused on your run. You both plow into the wall and the next days newspaper. Now I`m very VERY thankfull that I`ve never seen happen but anyone who`s been to the drags anywhere knows full well that it could. Finally don`t mistake me for some snivelling apostle of safety, cause if something stupid can be done I`ve done it and have the scars and arrest record to prove it. Your point about eh GT-E is exactly mine, I`m not drilling holes in car, its not a drag car. So, if it comes to that I`m either retired or its 205`s and pursuit rims on the rear. heh.. That`d sweet. Sermon ends here.

Well that's interesting, I wonder when they`ll start doing that at Willowbank?
