  1. I was all set to use Royal Purple until I read their website and the part about reduced fuel consumption and ahhhhhhh... It sorta reminded me of that Bitron stuff and cures cancer claims. I ended up going with Penrite Syn 15. I can always get it, I`ve used Penrite products before and found joy with them. End of the day its all down to personal choice and what makes you comfy.
  2. In England they put tyres full of petrol on them and flick a Bic. There`s a website dedicated to it, literally dozens and dozens of them charred to the sh!thouse.
  3. Let us know how you go and what it ends up being..
  4. Open your bonnet, sit behind the wheel and start the car, with your foot on the brake stall the car up in first.. If the motor tries to fold over the drivers side front guard you need a new engine mount.
  5. Lee did that many 10 second passes I doubt there`d be need for a disguise, just wait a bit. I kept wondering why they didn`t twig earlier.. I would have thought you`d do one sub 11 pass and they`d be all over you getting details.
  6. Matt's CRYPTC F6 is coming along nicely after the engine went pop!! Gearbox is coming out of the car soon to have the housing welded back together then off to WA for a bit of ^qoutey. It HAS to do 11`s miaow...
  7. Best thing is go to Willowbank Raceway, gates open at 4. Go to the staging lanes and look for Falcons.. Approach the guys milling around them and introduce yourself. Also, its gonna cost ya 20 odd bucks to get in, if your take a mate or significant other, you may as well bring long sleeves, long pants and a helmet and have a punt. Cause its costs the same as 2 adults entry to have a go. My plan is to run FULL street trim. Mainly cause I can`t be arsed to get my ET`s out. Heh. I like to arrive as gates open, get numbered and park till dark. Get the temps down. I usually push my car ( FPV Steves and the Bogans too, while they go off to the sh!thouse or buy a coke or w/e ) down the lanes also to keep temps down. If you`ve never had a run, do it. If people laugh when you fail you can`t hear them with the lid on and windows up.
  8. Pics or it didn`t happen!!! Magazine coverage? Mate I`m flat out getting a blurry pic of my car on Boostcruise :( It wouldn`t be the first time that half the cars in the staging lanes were Elite afiliated cars doing 11`s though.. Bring on some good weather.
  9. I drive at night. I`m not scared!
  10. Paint the actual Headlice Assembly. Commit..
  11. You can`t park there.. Old mate of mine does that bizo. Geoff Haley, he`s contested the Aust Champs a few times. Dunno if he still does though.
  12. Lol, I`ll pay that.
  13. I`m hoping for: good weather, some good results for the guys above and a good turn out for support. Be a good mini meet. I`m toying with coming out of retirement for a summertime true street tyre turn. Spiro`s car sounds unlike many others I`ve heard.. It screams.. If Lee ( Dalts ) is there too, well it`ll be a grand show for the Blue Oval Camp I reckon.
  14. Crikey..
  15. Your lucky, a mate has a series II BF XR8 and the engine bay and under bonnet is undercoat, its a rough as guts slate coloured finish. Lol, anytime the bonnet is raised on my BF Typhoon with him around there is a gnashing of teeth and coveting of thy nieghbours ox. It is has a sorta argent finish that looks horn against the mercury silver. Fords not the only one to save a few pennies slack arsing the under bonnet and boot area.
  16. Um, not many manual trans have a 2,800 rpm stall converter..
  17. Marrrrr, I didn`t go. It was sorta cool here last night maybe I shoulda.
  18. Quite few members have the Marangoni Mythos. Most rave about them. Some have expressed grip concerns but mainly when used at track days. I have them on the front of my BF Typhoon. They grip better than the OEM Dunlops, a bit, maybe a fair bit, however they are not really any quieter. I wonder that a 35 series tyre would ever be trully whisper quiet. One thing I`m really pleased with is the the fact that these tyres will cop one hell of a pizzling. I had one brand new and my hardly touched the road spare Dunlop on the front and was shocked to absolutely scrub 3 shades of sh!t off the shoulders in one mildly spirited drive. The Marangoni`s have stood up to several as they possess a really stout side wall and shoulder. They are $350 - $370 a pop. Will I fit them again? Dunno. I bought my car to DRIVE it when the fancy takes me, so I might go to a semi track tyre. But, yeah the Marangoni`s tick several boxes in my opinion. Okay they`re not 800 dollar Potenza`s but they aren`t Bob Jane out `a` rounders either.
  19. Willowbank.
  20. Anyone test and tuning tonight?
  21. Me too, fully agree.
  22. I`m with 72 on this one. I pretty much did my suspension one step at a time, Bilstiens, then heavy Kings then the front bar. Every step made the car better, but on my test and tune corner the car still had this slight bobble, the Whiteline rear bar cured it. It`s staying how it is.. To each his own.
  23. Not much goes on here.
  24. Okay, regarding the Heifer Creek Road Cutting, Allan Goos, my Leading Hand in the Gatton Council told me " the convicts did that " when I was a Labourer with the Gatton Council in 1984. I`m convinced I mis heard him and he was talking bout the old bridge that's been done up - replaced, it`s at dry Creek I think.. No Matter, here`s the scoop. Theiss`s did it in 1940 with a D8. The 104-feet deep Heifer Creek Road cutting between Gatton and Warwick, Queensland, was the deepest in Australia at the time. Using the D8 bulldozer, the brothers carved the cutting rather than building a more conventional tunnel. This approach allowed the brothers to complete the job in just six months.
  25. Okay in hindsight this is a somewhat pithy comment. Its just that the original post or near to it suggested a cruise eminating from Blacksoil, that doesn`t leave much to the imagination. 20 odd lairy falcons in a servo would attract attention. It`s like: OoOOoh, a big Elephant has just sauntered into the living room, but we`ll ignore it Saying we " don`t want to attract undue attention " might imply that we were up to no good and NOTHING could be further from the truth! Oh my wordy lordy no! It was a great cruise, few cars that I have not seen, some I normally see and didn`t. Good atmosphere, good chat.. Look forward to the next one.
