  1. Hi guys, longest story possible made short: Smallest possible scrape on the rear bumper in 2007 by another driver in a car park, bumper was fixed 100% (paint damage only) but the rear grey FPV bar insert never fitted back in properly since. They sort of heated/shaped the insert to fit, use some double sided tape and I was no wiser.... Then 2008, it half falls off one day and I take it back to the shop who did the work and they say they will replace it with a new insert. Over the past year they have tried 4x new inserts, but they dont seem to be the right shape, refitting the old one 3x, but its had it.. too abused now (gr) and my car is now driving around with NO insert on the back some 2 yrs after the work begun! The (4) new inserts took months (according to Ford) by manufacturing delays and all measure up their specifications and blueprints. When we fit these inserts to my bumper, they simply are not wide enough to fit the gap of the bumper, leaving around 8-12mm on each side varying on which of the 4 inserts we compare! The bar is original, from factory; nothing dodgy going on there... No big accidents, nothing other than a re-sprayed rear bumper. Ford claim there is nothing they can do as when they fit the new surrounds to the new bumpers on their end, it is all 110% perfect. I am at a loss and just want it fixed; I'd be very keen to hear if anyone has had any similar experiences or idea to why this would happen? Ford, my panel shop, insurance company, parts dealer and I are all stumped and of course nobody wants to accept the idea of giving me a new bumper/insert and be done with it. I am trying SO hard to stay calm, but after lodging numerous complaints with Ford Customer Service (bunch of...) and taking days off work to go to them all with the new/old insert in hand to show them I am going to loose my temper soon enough. Below are some pics of todays attempt to fit #4 new insert (my 7th visit/day off work to fix this *@n thing) showing the gaps on the sides I talk about. It looks a lot worse on the car as you can see light THROUGH the bumper LOL, especially as the car is looked after so carefully in every way with no expense spared, but you get the idea. PS, I promise that's the short version haha!! I need a holiday! help
  2. Makes me want to buy a new car, again.. just to get this warranty and after-sale service as my previous experience with a new FFPV is an utter joke! Ford, read and take note of what I just said !
  3. Finally an unbiased opinion.. The blue is nice btw, I had a deposit on a blue one when I got mine too. Got a soft spot for them when they are REALLY clean! :rokon:
  4. How long has this fuel been circulated for? Days or weeks? I have a mobil I have to drive past to get to my house so it is VERY convenient.. today I was driving up to it and for some reason I can't explain, I turned around and drove to a BP which was a few KM up the road. Lucky I did maybe?! Any idea on how I'd know if my last tank (from mobil) would have affected my car?
  5. Mine will go both left or/and right; but most of the time it will be left. The road camber certainly affects the result on my car. Wheelspin while cruising at ~40kph to ~90kph will go left 90% of the time btw. I should add, sometimes it doesn't go left or right at all, just spins straight.. interesting.
  6. Yep, definitely possible.. I used to have it on my last car even, NL Fairlane By Tickford... was great for cold mornings or times you wanna make a REAL fast getaway
  7. Since I got my F6 I can honestly say each time I have retuned it I get a new found respect for what I am driving and my driving changes accordingly. Day to day I generally pot around under 1500rpm or 2000rpm if I want to be ahead of the general people from the lights, but sure I still have a play when I go for a drive in the hills or get a suitable road to stretch her legs; if I didn't then I'd be an absolute fool to own it, financially that is! When I jump in slower cars, I seem to drive a bit harder around town than I do in mine.. In these cars there is a very fine line between tame and placid to aggressive and what can be simply brutal. A real eye opener is when you drive other people around or even let them drive your car(the ones you trust and know how to drive), but they are either unaware of what the car can do or just not used to power of any sorts LOL.
  8. Go a typhoon spoiler or take it off for sure
  9. I have washed my car several times in the rain.. It is by no means nearly as bad as it sound at first. I doubt I'd do it in the middle of winter when its like 0 degrees however lol
  10. Ouch, sorry to hear about the accident! I too would be pissed, I think any of us would be.. The damage at the back seems to be 'not too bad' for such a fast collision with your vehicle stationary; the front looks nasty however. Do you know the extent of the damage under the hood? This may possibly a write off now that these BF's have been replaced by FG for some time now and value has dropped so far and fast. Just think, there is possibly a new car on the way for you.. time to consider a sick and twisted possible upside?
  11. Does it still have a note? When I say drone, all the shops I talk to think I mean the note.. There is a big difference in the note and sound of the system and in cabin drone/resonance as most of us know Out of interest, I just had a look under my car and found that the pipes where they go over the diff and pressed hard up against the heat-shield; would this add much for in cabin noise? I have to take it back for them to refit it obviously before I ply with new mufflers again lol
  12. Nice, I will keep that in mind for the near future. What gets me most is it was 100% perfect when fitted, but got really droney within a few days of fitting... this will be the 4th time I have changed it and just want something that doesn't drone... I don't want to even think about how much money I have wasted trying to get it right! I even sound deadened my *entire* boot different products and under my car, rear wheel arches etc trying to shut it up LOL!
  13. Well what should I weld up in place of the 2 rear mufflers? Any input on something that can flow decent but doesn't drone like a...
  14. I have large Xforce mufflers, the volume of the system is fine, just that there is some drone at the rpm I use most (obviously v annoying) Would adding small resonators or hotdogs along with the mufflers I have now help with the drone? Thanks for your help :D
  15. Hi all.. Just a quick Q here, what is the most affective to stop in-cabin drone from my exhaust in the 1500-2000rpm band? Should I try to add hotdogs or resonators? I asked around a few places and looked up online, but is AMAZING how contradictory online information is and how bias some shops are... Any input people?
  16. I like Jags in general; not sure I'd own one of the older style ones though.. a little too traditional looking for me. This new range is really sharp; I am now a big fan.. I think most people that like astons (cmon, who doesnt?!) would like the new jags when you see them in the flesh! They don't look 'modern or cool' to them that will date like most manufacturers use (inc ford) and THAT I think is hard to pull off.
  17. Awesome car; a great base for a perfect all rounder that can wipe smiles off as easily as it puts them there to begin with :D Of course.. I am not too bias haha Congrats!
  18. I am amazed how many people who drive automatics (of any car manufacturer) don't know or even FEEL this?! Not to do with the original poster, as he is new to autos.. and what an auto to start on.. the best! I watch people all the time slamming in and out of Park or getting their trans locked in gear as they don't know what to do! Should be incorporated into the parking test. Funnily enough I thought it was as my teacher taught me this from day 1... yearssss back
  19. This could be a big problem, I went down the road and it has been sort of 'fixed' recently.. you can tell its dodgy and not done properly yet either. I didn't go to wok yesterday, nor today and have not been down the road since Wednesday (It was still there then) It is a dangerous road to get a picture, might be able to do it at night, but no chance during the day... Altho, I doubt there is a point in taking a photo of a hole that's patched up now.. Now I'm twice as annoyed lol.. half at them and half at me not taking a photo the day it happened.
  20. Hi guys, I know everyone has had a little experience with the disgraceful roads in some places around Australia and hit some sort of hole.. In a distance of 1.5km from my house to the train station most mornings I avoid 3 of the USUAL potholes which are roughly the size of a large pizza box and varying from 10-20cm in depth. I have seen these 3 (luckily) many times before I got to them and am vigilant to avoid them on my daily adventures.. Sadly I watch countless people thump into them daily without any warning and the best I can manage is to have the stones form the holes flicked back up at my car as I swerve to avoid the hole itself. This Monday gone, on my way home from work I was coming back the usual way and ended up slamming my front drivers side wheel into a new pothole! I am 150% sure it was there the day before and all I can say is $@#*! I've driven in so many around my local area (south east Melb) over the past 2 years and its not because I'm a idiot or that I don't watch were I drive; the sad truth is this overpopulated area with its unmaintained road-network is a JOKE! This time damage has been done and my $500+ front tyre has a bubble forming where the impact occurred.. possibly damage to the 19" rim too! What chance do I have to get some sort of compensation from my local council? I know they are quick acting for parking fines, rates and any sort of money going their way.. I have a feeling it isn't worth chasing as they will just say no? Do you guys have any stories of similar things happening where they have been accommodating for the damage they have caused on your vehicle?
  21. Yes, lubricating the bolts, rail and hinges is exactly what Ford would do first if you took it to them.. I'd do yourself and not waste your time or money taking it to Ford for something so simple. IF this then makes no difference, by all means squeak your way to Ford and take them for a drive to display your concern.
  22. Mine also makes more noise when I turn left, hard.. For this reason, I now avoid all twisty roads etc.. It is a joke, but to be fair I haven't had a chance to get the car back to Xforce since fitting.. so they may take a look at it without getting too defensive.. Well, one would only hope!
  23. I have had 2 sorts of squeaks, which I have fixed both myself as I didn't even think I could be bothered begging to Ford on my hands and knees to please replace it... Squeak 1: The leather was rubbing on the plastic sides of the seats (both front seats) so I found some adhesive felt (available in various colours and style/thicknesses from places light spotlight and even Bunnings, and cut it to the same shape as the plastic and applied it along the top. This looks stock and not cheap/nasty and has not made 1 noise since! Squeak 2: The under seat noise which is what is discussed above.. Sounds like a hinge and drove me INSANE for around 2 months before I went to town under the chair! At first, I lubricated everything as carefully as I could, but what sadly that didn't help.. I was very confused haha.. The next week I went into a bit more depth and found out in my case is was the main bolts that hold the seat base to the rails (4 big bolts, one in each colour) so I lubricated them again and double checked they were tight. Success! So I don't know if this is going to help you guys too much, but I think its worth putting up since I had 2 different sorts that I was able to fix. Good luck
  24. These systems are known for having some clearance issues yes. I have an issues with something vibrating too, I am not sure what or where it is at this stage, but I will be taking my car back to where it was fitted while I getting it the tune seen to.. When I turn hard it clunks too, VERY annoying!
  25. My setup is precisely the same.. (BF Typhoon)
