  1. I have a spare pair I Deja vu that could be painted up. The only downside is that a couple of the the little clips that hold them into the bar (or don't hold them in as we all know LOL) have broken off. It wouldn't matter anyway, they'd still fit 100% and with the silicone dab on the back they'd be nice and secure. If anyone wants them, I am happy to sell them 'coz I understand the prices fpv want are nuts...
  2. I can add myself to the overgrowing list! Couple of weeks ago I got a huge rattle/drone from my system which we found was the internals of the cat were not fixed tight, lucky mine wasn't to the point it broke it and blew it out the arse end.. lol I replaced it with another Xforce (the first one lasted me 3yrs) and this one looks of higher quality and also flows more.
  3. I'd also suggest if you are chasing a good solid upgrade in power without changing the turbo, do the dump and cat. The rest of the system will open it up past ~300-330rwkw (depending on what support mods you have) but only with the F6 turbo. From what I understand the xr6t (FG) turbo cant fully make use of an even more free flowing system, keeping in mind the only part of the sock system that holds it back it really dump/cat.
  4. For the record, it is possible to have the Xforce twin 2.5" system fitted properly and it wont scrape unless you are ultra low or driving over pyramids. I have this system, with BIGGER mufflers and I have also had the car slightly lowered. Add this with the FPV front rear bumper being lower to the ground than the XR and you are talking worst case scenario unless you go reallllly low.
  5. Full Monty, I read this too, but Rob isn't able to speak for the manufacturer and I took it with a grain of salt as did most tuners - I believe as there was just too large an outcry (by tuners, not so much us) that there had to be a backflip of some sort. Technically the xcal1's are running indefinitely, but they are now unable to have new programming loaded into them. What did Rob say exactly would be the situation on that subject? ARMs email reply is highlighting this exact point I am sorry to be making! It was there, in black and white. I am not saying it was the correct way to phrase it for the most people, but it might have been done that way to put out the fire at the time.. who knows. Now, understand I'm not saying it wasn't an abrupt end, albeit with a "grace period" almost to upgrade to new hardware at a lower than retail pricing point , but I (I can only speak for myself, (unlike many people on here) had been warned by tuners, people in the know for a loooong time coming that this was extremely likely to happen in the near future.
  6. Nowhere was my post directed to you, you need to calm down and lay off the intoxicants a bit I think! I have complaints and have posted them, but I think there are too many non-educated people (not saying in general) thinking it will be an easy or cost effective fight to take to SCT of Herrod. I can tell you now, it takes time, a long time. I can also tell you now it would cost more than the ******* upgrade to to an xcal3 if you wanna bring it down to basics! You don't need to get personal bringing my car or modifications into the scenario, nowhere have I done this. My car is a private/work scenario, mods are paid for by me FOR me. I am not rollin g cash by any means and I'm not ashamed to be in any badged car, so long as its good! If only most manufactures would make said good cars lol! As for LS1 forums, why the hell should I go there? The Xcal1 discussion doesn't stop at the gates of fordxr6turbo forum FYI, it is well known stuff - as it has been for 18months! The shame isn't anything to do with people cheapening the image of these cars, nor some of the twits we have all seen getting around in them. That is fine, as it happens to all cars over time.. but more so the way some users have reacted over the topic. Put yourself in SCT's shoes for a minute, imagine you're happy with the way things are/have proceeded and you come in here to read this entire thread! What you will see is nothing dissimilar to a schoolyard argument, a truckload of misinterpretation, confusion and a lot of wound up people who seemingly cannot all be pleased. I mean, the simple argument of "it happened overnight, where the **** was the warning" is just preposterous as its been on the table for 18months+ IF you can read my previous posts, you will see there are many views and beliefs I do agree with here, it's not like I'm not involved or getting the stick up there either!!! I just cant deny I knew it was coming, I sat on my hands for too long and I also don't have the time, effort or money to fight it.
  7. I think after driving both, the suspension in the R-Spec was insanely overrated. Better than FPV F6 suspension, marginally yes. Either car, I'd swap over to something better all round for a lot less money that would last longer, too! As said above.. if you come across the "right car" and it happens to be an R-Spec, not probs... but in no way is it the only option worth considering to discount normal F6s or FGs... knew when Ford called it an R-Spec people would get the wrong idea from what this model actually signifies. :S
  8. Spot on Adrian. The idea of Herrod and or SCT reading over this forum/thread (and others like it) makes me ashamed... the way many have reacted is childlike. If people are indeed this worked up and believe they've been hard done by; there are mature and responsible actions to take and paths to follow. Hell, just thinking about the process.. by the time it takes to sort these things out and see results good or bad, I doubt I will still own the car lol! I hate to say it, but these cars are starting to attract a "cheaper" group of owners and many people will simply just take the cheapest way out no matter what they believe/want/have. If I had a dollar for every person I read of or hear talking about modifying and trying to get cheap tunes on the side for their car would make me considerably more financially comfortable! The money and time to fight this properly would put most people who are so irate that they'd consider action well off the idea, really!
  9. What mods have you done already, it is important to know as some mods will work best in harmony with other mods etc.. Do you already have flash tuner? (Xcal box or similar for the custom tune)
  10. All BA/BF (I think also FG, somebody?) have a ford badge on the steering wheel, regardless if they're FPV F6 or Ford XR6T. Why not just ask the owner n see what the go is re the shifter surround/wheel etc? Then confirm the truth, obviously lol...
  11. The right way to quieten it down would be to change those mufflers then. It'd be a shame if you wanna keep it sounding like that though, as its not a free swap lol. I'd have a chat to your local exhaust shop, preferably a custom place, not doing so much of the "off the shelf" systems.
  12. Hey tab I concur, it was seemingly shutoff at the flick of a switch, but I know that some of my previous tuners were under the impression it would one day soon be redundant. This plus the fact 12 to 18 months ago (going by memory) there was some strong, serious talk of no longer supporting Xcal 1; it wasn't just rumors being thrown around. I have found that the good honest tuners have been straight up with me regarding the Xcal 1, even suggesting I either upgrade or consider it in the future while they become more and more unstable; suggesting one day there had to be a knee-jerk reaction to their ongoing support. The fact I didn't jump on the Xcal 3 when I was warned shows I'd rather not have upgraded without the need, but again I cannot sit here saying "I never seen it coming" or that I wasn't warned or prepared for this decision down the track. Cheers-
  13. Nathen, I have read (on this forum and others) the whole damn load.. in this thread that's gone so far off topic here 'n there its laughable; nowhere did I mention Microsoft in an attempt to give direct comparison so I don't see why you dragged them into it. Everyone here has the opportunity to spend their "$500" as you put it, on anything they like whether it be another Xcal or not, your choice. Everyone here has the opportunity to hold out and see what happens with the uproar and court case/s in the hope of a major backflip, again it is your choice. As a personal opinion... From what's happening with the obvious companies in question and the market in general; I'd say there's notable change in the wind (ZF tuning seems to be the most common guess around, time will tell) and I am far too busy being excited about the possibilities of this than to be pissed off and stressed out on the negatives of this situation, as it stands anyhow. I'm happy seeing some good change in the arena and hopfully a new level playing ground for the market we, the genuine paying customers 'invest' in. I think the Xcal 1 was a crude design that was flawed from day 1, maybe they should of done more before releasing it and maybe it shouldn't of been released with these flaws at all as some have said with the worry of possible illegal use - BUT, I made my own decision to buy, tune and to use it for years. Oh, and lighten up on the poor exclamation marks lol
  14. genebaby, I am far from a daft consumer who would pass around my financial details to be reaped unnecessarily; but I think I have a better understanding of what happens in the world in terms of electronic hardware either being upgraded, replaced or simply no longer being supported. Now, how the whole situation came about isn't ideal for a group of us, this is obvious, but in no way was it unforeseen as it's been in discussions for quite some time. May I ask how long you dreamt of using your Xcal 1, uploading new tunes and having tuner, software, customer and manufacturer support for this device? You seem to have taken this personally genebaby, is there more to this story or your own situation for you personally that has dragged you in emotionally so deep? On a side note. If people who buy, then modify cars refuse to accept the fact that odd things can change and update over time. Supportive software and or hardware may be needed in the future if you find yourself in need to modify your vehicle yet again, it's pretty understandable amongst everyone I know who mods cars. If somebody thinks this doesn't sound right or cannot comprehend this, then I'd think that modified vehicle ownership is not for them. Your case is unfortunate, but this is right. I'd suggest having a chat to the tuner who you purchased from, they may possibly be a little more sympathetic with your situation if they sold it to you recently and help out where they can with custom tuning costs. It depends highly on how long you've had the Xcal 1, the plans you have to go forward and where/who you got it from. Either way, you will have to upgrade the hardware to Xcal 3, then get the cash back for the Xcal 1 and start with your custom tuning plans. Good luck, you will love the car all over again once its tuned up nicely
  15. Hi, these cars are awesome, I highly recommend them and yes I tried to be as unbiased there as possible haha! To clarify for you, ALL F6's are numbered just like your 2nd photo on a SILVER coloured shifter surround to match the silver climate/stereo surround on the dash. This isn't too big a deal, it could be replaced from a part supplier and a new numbered sticker from Ford, at a cost worth investigating before buying the car. I'd not let it put you off if you think the price is fair or the seller has reduced the price of the car to consider it is missing this genuine part; also ask why it is missing/removed. I have seen some people swap to different colours for personal preference and hold onto the original pieces. Photo of mine below, its hard to see the sticker in this photo but again, its like your 2nd shot: There is a FPV numbered sticker/plaque in the engine bay yes, it is visible in the photo of my engine bay below, look just above the bonnet latch:
