Ford needs the Xr8 to fill the v8 gap to the FPV cars, even in the past when the XR8 was significantly inferior to the XR6T Ford managed to sell a lot of them so with the new coyote they got an even better chance (regardless of it being better/worse than the turbo). I’m just so surprised they did not drop the US engine as is (300KW/530nm). With such figures it would not steal any FPV sales and would sell really well for those who cant afford a 60K car …

Hi Guys, What is the weight of a stock FG XR 17” wheel? What is the weight of a stock FG XR 18” wheel? What is the weight of tyres? Lastly does a street car gain are noticeable advantage with upgrading to light weight rims? Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, Yep I got a stock FG XR6 NA which comes with the smaller brakes. I’m not intending to do any track work but I find the existing brakes very underperforming for spirited driving of any kind and they simply do not inspire any confidence to push the car at all. I was thinking of upgrading the brakes to the standard turbo brakes but I’m a bit confused with the available options as the BA/BF/FG models seem to have slightly different sizes when it comes to front and back callipers and rotors. What I want is something that will bolt on with my existing 17inch wheels, look “stock”, and perform well for the street without spending an arm and a leg for Brembo setups and the like … What would you guys recommend? Should I only be doing fronts or the back as well? Which models should I go for? And lastly where is a good place to obtain the kits? Thanks in Advance.

Hi guys, in my previous BF XR6 I have installed the F6 lower snorkel and that made a small difference. I was wondering if the same mod would work on the FG XR6? I read somewhere (some other forum) that the FG’s intake has been specially optimised and that removing some restriction actually reduces power. Also which models have the lower snorkel on their airbox (XR6T, XR8 or F6)? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I heard that the pacemaker extractors can be fitted to the FG I6 engines without too much drama. I was wondering if there will be gains in the power across the whole rev range if aftermarket extractors are fitted to an otherwise stock car? I do not want to tune this car in the future or make any other mods to it (apart from intake maybe) so I was wondering if the extractors upgrade was a worthwhile upgrade. Thanks in Advance
