  1. Disco V8- Discovery V8 I think the LPG kit with rebate ends up costing around 3k. An F series would be nice, but the interiors are horrid, plain american crap IMHO. Along with the car will also be my daily so parking in a single spot is important!! Not to mention paying more for a car second hand than it sold for new. A ute would be great though with the two pups. Maybe some inquiries are needed re importing one. The range rover I have is good, but lacking grunt and any repairs will be costly. But so far on the short list is the 06 Range Rover Sport or, Range Rover, Discovery 3, Territory turbo. Tom- that's pretty much my concern. Thanks again for all the feedback guys, any more will be appreciated! Brad
  2. haha, yeah I know. The issues was that 6 months ago I just bought a house so wasn't sure on how funds would be once all had settled. Now I know I have more money left over than I factored in, plus I have had a great pay increase at work, so can afford to upgrade. The rangie is great, I love it, but dropping to 60km/h towing is a pain in the ass. The new car will be through my work so its in some ways more beneficial to me to have a car that's newer from a tax situation. We are towing a big weight and the rangie finds it much harder than I had anticipated. So its time to upgrade around start of new financial year, which means all the fun of research now! Brad
  3. Bit over 6 months ago. Brad
  4. What other cars would you consider xrotor? Landcruisers have no more grunt that a disco V8 do they? The big attraction the territory has is the availibility of LPG injections systems to keep running costs down somewhat. Brad
  5. Barry- that's pretty much the exact information I was looking for On the tune point, how would I control what tune was being used at what time? Are there flashes or plug ins that allow you to stwitch between tunes? Barry- don't let the haters get to you re the CX9 purchase, nice bit of car! I've got a bit of a soft spot for them... http://www.adam.com.au/ljbarnes/Wakefield%...ides/prev55.jpg Brad
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys. Its just when I bought the range rover I looked at Territory Turbo's and some of the sales guys didn't have confidence to recommend them for the weight I was towing and showed concern for the drivetrain durability and potential over heating issues with the turbo. Instead pushing me towards a V8 Sedan. So I was wondering if in the last couple of years if any maintenence or reliability issues had raised their head. Thanks again guys! Edit- done plenty of reading/searching on here in the last while and have already decided if I got one, the bung in the exhaust would go and one of Brett's from A.P.E. LPG injection set ups would be on the top priority list! Brad
  7. Hey guys, considering upgrading my tow car. Currently using a 98 Range Rover which is coping well but struggles to maintain speed and at 10 years old I'm starting to have some concerns for reliability and possible high repair costs! Anyway, I am towing 2-2.2t regularly (most weekends) alternating between really hilly stuff (out to murray bridge) and pretty flat stuff, round trip around 150km. I am considering a Territory turbo, I know they have all the grunt I would need but I am concerned about durability of drive train, etc to the kind of stress regular towing would put it through? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Brad
