  1. nothing wrong with my XR smell, nice and fresh/clean! although when it was in the panel beaters getting repaired the apprentce spliied milo in the centre console, didnt clean it up/out, car in oven baking the paint = vomit inducing when I went to pick it up (the carpet liner had its own little civilisation kicking along through the ages on it)
  2. I've had both sets of switches apart to paint the surrounds and couldn't see any bulbs or excess wiring to provide illumination but then again I may be wrong also..

    Fitting Gas

Jays Automotive in Karina RD taren point side. Do good work and have a good rep behind them. Not sure on rebates though...
  4. movie (excellent)

    Hey All

Nige things to look for: -dash holes as you said, hole in the carpet (torch/baton mounting points) -torn/repaired seats (where there pistols rub) - faded spots on parcel shelf (unmarked light location) -excess arials/grommets more than normal wear and tear( scuffs, scrapes on the underside from mounting gutters etc. But as stated check the manual first.. Most of the highway boys I know (and General Duties for that fact) flog the cars over medium strips, gutters etc etc.
  6. whoops thought you were putting a bigger cooler on. Direct repalcement but slightly larger Im not sure on mate. Radiator support is the top plate of metal that runs accross the engine bay at the front, see in the pic where the two brackets are hanging from...
  7. A hpoto might help some of the more technically minded members on here mate, maybe dimension so we know what your trying to fit in also? with my cooler the l shaped brackets hung it from the rad support and the flat/twisty ones from the bottom underneath the radiator. hope that helps you a bit!
  8. Seconded! After joing the "I rang Chris to see if he's still alive and well" club and reading this post (read boost cruising first) I agree with 03XR6T, I am the same age, same model car and cop the same sh*t. Everyone was/is young and stupid and does/did stupid things at one time or another in there lives, sometimes action that put others lives at risk, but we do it, do not know why but we all do/have done it but we really should consider the where and when we choose to act.
  9. MRDOSE that actually looks the goods mate. I had though of doing it as well but talked myself out of it a while back. What pipes are you running (aftermarket or mod stock system)
  10. same thing here, spent the extra $$$ for the gold PBR fluid and didnt feel anything different. went back to the standard DOT 4 yellow bottles...
  11. Cheers RAP1D, it s good to see someone who has heard/experienced the twin cannons put there 10 cents in. Meh, overall its what everyone like on there cars. Each to there own.
  12. Bahaha one? why stop at one? two is much better for a Piss Take for all the ricers. Does sound nice and deep though, not tinny or ricey but a nice deep note.
  13. looking at the photos I reckon you could get away with the gaping maw (jaws) on the T and the headlights would make sweet ahgry eyes... Go for it if you like, would be really personalised! Ryan
  14. When some metals heat up and cool naturally they begin to loose there internal stresses ie lathe beds are cast then put outside in the elements for a year or so, heat up and expand, cool and contract, helps stabilise the material composition, then they are brought in and machined and assembled. Yes rust is corrosion to an extent, detrimental to some/in some cases. Cast iron shavings and water dont mix however, react and dry like concrete haha Brakes I agree with, should be over engineered from factory not an optional extra
  15. Scubzz that feeling sucks I know it all too well, 65lt of Shell's finest, 450km range, drive out the driveway and it drops 100 odd kms off the range WTF? Ah well such is the price we pay from performance, wouldn't of bought a turbo if I was worried about fuel haha!
  16. Mate I've dropped back to the 8psi tune running rapids high flow v3.5 (4in intake, cooler hot & cold sides) and im just cruising around, no more than half throttle and taking it real easy untill I get the tune done. Should be fine if you take it easy mate.
  17. ouch! that'll put a dampner or your day mate. Good luck with the repairs, let me know if you need a good panel beater, cronulla area though... BTW the xr looks the goods mate.. Ryan
  18. Jason from JL Collision in taren point is highly recommended boys and girls. 5/139 Taren Point Road (behind Gasweld and Kennards Hire) 9525 4230 MRDOSE I took the badge off, used a fiberglass based bog to fill the gap, blocked it back with 80 grit working up to 240 grit, then fine bog to fill any small imperfections/air holes, block that back a couple more times with 320 grit, repeat a few times to ensure smooth, bog sinks back so make sure there is a LITTLE bump not totally flat. Prime and guide coat (light black spray to show high spots when you rub back. Then paint or do it all your self and get the panel beater to final block back and paint for you for cash in hand. Ryan What about the oxy then? if were cutting stuff apart go all out and make it a convertable???
  19. hmmm ya got me thinking now.... Nah seriously I took the oval badge off, looks great to me anyway and it cost me nothing but that's what I get for working at a panel shop.. Ryan
  20. just the usual young 'un funny's here.. On P's, couple of mates cars also, george street crawl on a saturday night, each set of light everyone would pile out and have a water fight, water bombs and supasoakers etc. Slapping traffic cones over whislt driving past, until mate broke his wrist that is. Couple of mates and I used to go to a well know "seculded couples spot" in cronulla around midnight on the weekends and run up and rock the sh*t outta the fogged up cars. Once got chased by a naked bloke all the way into cronulla then he realised where he was and what was on display.....
  21. I can highly recommend Bob The Tinter. rang him thursday arvo, sat morning my T was all nicely done in 18%. Great job, great bloke, great work. He actually takes the trims off the doors and tints below them unlike other placs who stop at the trim. So with bobs work you can wind the windows down and not have to worry about ripping the tints off! Once again Great Bloke, Great Product!
  22. smicky most dealers are anal where FPV parts to non FPV owners are concerned, hence they will only sell to people with FPV vin numbers (ie owners not joe bloggs) unless you know the parts boys really really well them will not give it to you.
  23. Does anyone have any recommendations for a trimmer in Sydney? Lookinga t getting my roof lining done in Black with sunvisors included. Cheers!
  24. See Chris from Rapid Systems on here, pretty sure he does package deals with dual pod and gauges.
  25. Cheers guys! much appreciated! Powerpoint it is but the MS Paint idea hadnt occurred to me being that its so old and standard issue sort of... And yes smicky everyones invited ya just gotta figure out where in NSW on the 2/8/08 its being held at!
