  4. No they are different. I had the sports steering wheel that was an option the BF T's and it is exactly the same as the normal xr6 t steering wheel with momo imprinted in the leather on the bottom of the wheel. Then they FPV steering wheel is that bigger chunky version. Whats weird is they both sell for the same price. MMMM just realised how old this thread was lol
  5. Guys, As many of you would already know there are so many ways to deal with these pricks but heres the one I found works the best. No one likes a customer that nags so you got to get them on your side by making them sympathise with you. You just bought a new car it cost you a lot of money and you need it to be running right because its effecting your work blah blah blah bringing it back all the time. Call the dealer principle tell him about your concerns and that you want to work with them to get the problem sorted. He will refer you to his customer service manager who has no option but to listen and help you out because his BOSS just refered you to him directly. Write a list up like one of the other guys on here mentioned and offer to leave it with them for as long as they want even a week if they need it and tell them that you dont want to take it back until its fixed. If you drive it out... and theres a rattle its coming straight back in for another week and a loan car at their expense. After going back and forth so many times this one worked the best for me! Go to the top then work your way down!
  6. Spot on Mika... end of the day the smartest thing to do is cop the $30 on the chin get your car tested then checked and move on. Drawing unecessary attention to your modified car is silly because if they look further they might just find more stuff to screw you over with. I guess its just one of those things you get with a modified car.

    My Turbo Is...

BF MK II Upgrade 07 - EGO T56
  9. I hear ya... I wont let myself go much more then ive already done. If anything ill go an intercooler setup and that's it. Im about to buy a house in the next few months so it looks like the mal wood option 3 will be the best bet! Plus one of my best mates is a mechanic so he'll be fitting it for me as a favour so ill save some money there! Thanks for the tips though you can never have enough!
  10. well that's unfortunate... haha I didnt really want to spend any more money anytime soon. tell me senna... how much will a clutch roughly set me back that will hold the power comfortably... it doesnt have to be anything fancy just do the job... what would I be looking at fitted?
  11. Yeah I love it although im a little worried that im going to break something. I had it in 4th... and I kept the foot down flat and when it hit boost hard it already slipped a bit... I know 4th is a strong gear and u need to build the boost into it because it seems like the standard clutch just isnt strong enough.
  12. I turned up and they were just doing the final fine tunning on the dyno, it got upto 278rwkw. Jumped in it.. drove it out of the driveway and rememberd his advice to not dump the clutch in 1st because it wouldnt last long.... so I babied it into 2nd then stomped it... traction control light started to go all nar nar and yeah fantastic piece of work! I believe I have been bitten buy the thing you guys call the "bug"
  13. mmm ok ... is there something I missed?????
  14. haha I hope so.. just hope I dont break anything!!! tell me... does the spoiling up sound any better with the greater boost?
  15. I think the justification is something along the lines of whatever you modify... if something breaks that is linked to the mod then you are not covered. It kind of rules out most things when you put more power into the car because that reflects on all parts like the trans, engine, turbo, drivetrain so on so on.
  16. Today I woke up and finally decided that I would take the car into Nizpro to get some work done to it. Ive gone with the Stage 1 kit to kick it off and I cant wait to pick it up later this evening. I know that its going to be much faster then when I took it in. I know that on paper its going to be faster but as far as how its going to feel first hand I have no idea what to expect. I cant wait!
  17. I ended up doing this solinoid maintenance today and I did it easily like most of you here did. I got a BF MKII Upgrade T and found that plastic pipe that comes out of the solinoid that the hose connects to on mine isnt actually plastic, its metal so I didnt have to be so fragile it wouldnt break even if I wanted it to. Anyways... what I noticed Boost comes on much smoother and more consistant through out the rev range. Actually the whole ride just feels smoother. Great tip =) Cheers =) Michael
  18. yeah mine feels rough on throttle in the back end ..... its done 18,000ks so im not sure if that would go on it already. My diff seems to be making a bit of noise to... I actually think it sings to me haha! Would this have anything to do with it ?
  19. thanks for the info mate.... can you tell me what the symptoms are of the bushes being screwed? like what effects does it have? cheers,
  20. Hi Guys, Silly question I have been reading up a bit on driveline issues with the BF Mk11 T T56's...... can someone tell me what Diff Bush means? Im thinking its just Diff Bushers. Do these need replacing after a certain amount of KM's? If the need to be replaced what are the symptoms? Cheers, Michael
  21. thanks tab... having a cruise on the 27th of september?? but that's grand final day!
  22. Ex chasers.... besides them being ex cop cars.... is there actually anything different with them? Id assume that have better springs? Modified boost?
  23. Mate... I dont have an FG but I have a November Build XR6T BF MKII that had pretty much exactly the same problem. Like yours it had a very disturbing rattle on throttle that resonated through the gear stick destroying any other enjoyable sound you could possible get from driving your car. Took it to President ford in Elsternwick they told me it was normal and shoved FOAM down the gear stick shaft (which they didnt originally tell me) and said to go away its a ford enjoy it. Clearly not excepting this explanation I called ford head office made a official complaint and then took it to Ethridge Ford as I hear they have a better reputation then other dealerships, got the foreman to have a drive with me while I drove it. The key however is to kick up a big stink to Ford H/O so the rep that looks after you follows up every stage with the dealership putting pressure on them to make sure they get the job done right. They'll do this because any bad remark on their record shows in their history. He agreed that it was not normal... tried to fix it... it was ok for 2 weeks then it sh*t itself again. Took it back and they put a brand new one in for me. Its been great ever since... you can still on low revs hear the hash roll over noise and you can still on idle hear the thrust bearing shaking around but most of that goes away when the car warms up and you have the clutch down. Point to this story is.... make them put a new gearbox in your car!!! you dont pay good money for nothing!
  24. Perfectly described I am having the exact same problem... I thought I was silly trying to explain it to ford the first time the guy had no idea what I was trying to say. I can go back to them now at the next service and say stick it right up ya its a common problem!!!
