  1. Well done. A little bit into the 300 club is better than being a little bit under it!

Stock cooler and filter. I just put one of those F6 intake rubber things on the front of the airbox, that's all. Like I said - not many mods for a good outcome.

Yeah I was very happy with that number for $500. And it still did 100,000km no problems with fuel economy close to standard too. It's not so good now though!
  4. Mine just made the power with injectors, walbro pump, tune and 4 inch exhaust into twin 2 1/2. I think the intercooler is the next restriction, but for one-off blasts it is great

I don't know what sort the cat was - it was supllied with the system. It was 4 inches in diameter and about 6 inches long
  6. Hi to everyone. I have been a reader in the past, but decided to post after today's results. I have a BF series 2 xr6t with the auto. I am a regular at the Tassie dragway, and punt all my cars down the quarter. The BF stock ran 13.7 at 156km/h with 190rwkw. A generic tune over the net got me 233rwkw and 12.7 @173km/h plus a super street championship. Then last year I decided to bite the bullet and get a proper tune. The generic tune had been in the car for over 100,000km, so time for a change. I put 62lb injectors in it and had the tune done - with an increase to 273rwkw, but only a 12.6 at 179km/h. They also played around with the trans and stuffed the usual good shifts, so I was not happy overall with the result. Anyhow, I won the super street championship again, and remained the fastest xr6t over the quarter in Tas. So I decided last month to go for the next level. That resulted in tcp exhaust (4inch dump and cat, twin 2 1/2 after) , walbro pump, 4spot brembos and another tune. The exhaust is great - deep, a little bit noisier, and flows heaps. The pump is a little bit noisy. Took it to GTgarage yesterday and picked it up today and was greeted with 303rwkw at 16psi. WOW! The trans is all back to nice as well. I love the feeling now. It feels like a low 12 sec car now, and has all of the nice characteristics at low boost. The dyno also tends to read low: cars with 340rwkw run around 300 at the wheels on this one, so I feel it is more than the actual number.
  7. Jeez Mike, I will have to get the wife's shopping trolley going hard if I want to keep my tag as the quickest xr6t in Tasmania over the quarter! I will be interested in the next cruise.

    Tassie Chat

Justin gave me the heads up on this one, but I won't be able to make it. Doing the kingston fun run with the family, then got to hit the books for study (exams in 3 weeks). Would have loved to bring the green slug for a cruise.
  9. The 5 speed is fine if you keep it stock. The 6 speed is better though. I don't like driving a v8 unless it's a manual. I have a turbo BF xr6t with the 6 speed auto, and it is fantastic for the turbo, but the v8 and manual is a better drive.
  10. I have a BF II and ran 13.7 at 105mph with 210rwkw all bog stock when I first got it. Now with injectors and a tune only it runs 12.6 @112 with 277rwkw
  11. I have got to say that I prefer the handling of the gts over the ford stuff, but I have not driven the new 335 boss motor yet. The front end tucks in nicely on the track, compared to the falcons that want to roll over at the front and understeer. I thought the review was fine, and it's good to see the ford take the crown. And as for mods - how about $10k on the gtp. I'm sure an intercooler and a smaller blower pulley will surely match an f6 with more boost. The limiting factor for both forms of boosted fords is traction.
  12. droooool Me like muchly muchly
  13. well done! Pics when you get it.
  14. Got to love the way the bug just gets on with it. No noise, no flames out the exhaust, and it can stop at the end of it. I want one!
  15. there is one exactly the same on carsales at the moment. Different number plate, so I am thinking it is the other neo coloured car
  16. They were just not popular - so they changed the name to gte and f6e...which are still not that popular compared to the regular models. I love the understated looks, but the big price hike is the stumbling block for most.
  17. That is a beautiful car. The wife and I pondered long and hard over whether to get that one. It was a bargain price, and well worth it. Enjoy the ride
  18. Just go for it. I am 36 and in my second year of medicine - just for a change. Do something different, don't be put off by naysayers, go at it with determination, and you never take a knock-back as the end of it.

    Ba / Bf Specs

they cooled your nuts nicely. Now I have a hot pair whenever I am in the bf!

    Ba / Bf Specs

Inside my ba series 1 also had extra vents on the side below the big one near the window. The bf series 2 does not have this, but maybe because the ba was a premo pack, vs our bf povo pack. I know that this is a huge difference.
  21. Yep. My bf xr6t is getting done next week, or at least we are going to get a base tune figure, then work out what next.
  22. The best roads in Australia are down here. The one to Strahan is an absolute ripper - but do it when there is no snow or ice. If you go at the right time there are virtually no coppers, and the trip into queenstown will be a memorable one - 99 corners of armco inspired bliss where they cannot put speed cameras and the radars cannot get a fix on you in time!!! As for race tracks, Baskerville is 20 mins from the centre of Hobart, and is one of the best short circuits around. If you decide to go out I will be along to join you with a few mates. The drag strip is a let down, but at least you can get plenty of passes in. I Race a 9 second XA coupe regularly, so it can be used to run a good time. Simmons plains is close to the dragway, but once you have run at Baskerville, you will get bored of simmons plains very quickly - it is just a couple of straights with a nasty hairpin. Finally, Rodney Howell of Howells automotive is doing custom tunes. I a in the process of organising a BA GT-P and my BF xr6t to get custom tunes. You will probably want a bit of fine tuning down here as the fuel is different - they blend it differently for the colder weather. But when you have a change of season, the car will run wrong because they take too long to change to the summer or winter brew. My T pings occasionally when the season changes - not good.
  23. You play, you pay! I edited my BF xr6t 4 months after purchase. I intend to do over 200,000km in it before selling.
  24. The 8psi tune is pretty good for 300rwkw. I use it every day and just ran 13.2 at 174km/h on the weekend, so it must be close to it. The missus does not want the 10psi setting. But ford can detect that you have flashed it back to standard
  25. I prefer manuals, have usually bought manuals, but the 6speed auto is way superior, so I have that in my bf xr6t. If you have not driven the zf auto, you cannot really comment - that's just my 2c worth.
