  1. holy sh*t mate, glad you guys are ok.
  2. I wont be this arvo. Got my ute back friday arvo at 5 with the turbo leak fixed. Got it home and once I went out again that afvo discoverd it now has a significant oil leak -.- which leaked all over my nice driveway. So they get the pleasure of my angry phone call monday morning tellin them how useless they are so on........ Should be good for the cruise though. On another note, was heading upto maleny today and seen about 30 or so fords coming out of a sideroad, must be that sunny coast ford club. there were all sorts of fords not just new ones.
  3. Ive just called my insurance dude about mods. What do they class as mods? Im guessing anything upgraded from stock would be classified? Eg, Im looking at getting the injectors, fuel pump, valve springs, cooler, catback exhaust and a flash tune? Do I tell them about all of it as I dont want to void my insurance if I ever need it
  4. I can answer the first 2 questions for ya. 2000-3000 would be around the money depending on where u go. I'm 20 and my car is in my old mans name and im a registerd driver, got full compo for 700 per year. Be careful though alot of places dont allow registerd drivers under the age of 25 for these cars so shop around for a while. Not sure about mods I actually just called my insurer just now and asked about that as im looking to mod my car. Someone who has gone throgh that may be able to help out more
  5. Update: Dropped the ute of early this moning and received a phone call late this arvo saying the are now "pretty sure" the leak has come from the dump to turbo connection. After not having log books with the car the questioned me about that, so I called a few dealerships in canberra and chaced up the old info which is all correct. The bloke I have been dealing with confirmed the is no gasket for this joint, which u guys have already in formed me. I was then told about the aftermarket gasket 03xr6T was talking about. I then said that I did not want that as it would void the warranty. The next option he threw at me was machining the rear to get it flat again so there are no leaks? Do either of these options sound like what needs to be done. And am I wrong in suggesting a new turbo for the car? I have no idea, as the car does have only 2 months left of warranty I dont want a bodge quic fix from them that is going to return soon. What should I do?
  6. mk thanks, ford didnt really go into much detail as to which section it was. it goes in tomorrow so hopefully they figure it out
  7. give em time 3 weeks still
  8. yeah I asked them if they checked all the bolts and they said they did. Im guessing there was a bit of dump movement before they were tightend whcih caused the leaks. Does this "machining" the of the face seems like a good long-term solution? as the warranty runs out soon I dont want it feking up in a few months
  9. Ok heres my story, throw some opinions my way. Took my car into ford the otehr day to get what I was told and exhaust or flange gasket replaced. The reason for this is a rather loud sound that sounds like alot of extra air or sumthing. Sounds like a truck and I've lost all my power. After being fekd around with them and waisting a couple of trips to them when I went to pick it up they said they hadnt fixed it. So I asked what the problem was, and they said that there was ment to be a gasket on the rear of the turbo that was missing. Apparently the ute has had some work on the rear of the turbo. So when they went to order the part the said it didnt exist, as a result of it "missing" there are some leaks out of the rear of the turbo to whatever connects to it. Now as they said this part didnt exist in the parts manual or log books they have told me they are going to remove the turbo and machine it back to a flat level surface so there will be no leaks. The car is under warranty till 30/12/08. Does this sound right? if not wat should be my port of call
  10. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...t=0&start=0 That should get u started on meeting some of us Welcome and enjoy
  11. Not an exhaust leak nemore, they misdiagnosed it... suprise suprise. Apparently there is a gasket missing from the rear of the turbo whcih is where the leak is now coming from, but when they tryed to order one there was no such part :s SOOO once it goes back there gonna have another look and machine the back of the turbo flat or some sh*t. Sounds a bit sketchy to me
  12. LOL, im trying ti be here for it. I'll come with brandon if it isnt ready
  13. its ford we are talking about here. By the time my car gets in the cruise will be 2.5 weeks away
  14. f*ck im starting to look a bit shaky for this cruise.... Took my car in to get the 'exhaust gasket' fixed. went to pixk it up now there saying that wasnt the problem its a leak from the rear of the turbo. so I have to wait another week until I can get it in for them to look at again. Problem being they have no I <3 Bananas idea, there saying there is ment to be a gasket where the leak is, but in the service and parts manual there is no such gasket..... Fingers crossed the fagtards can sort it out
  15. its was the nrl grand final that's y no one would have been out
