  3. I own a Dec 2007 build BFII2.5 XR6T ex police car - as such it is factory fitted with what seems like larger front calipers and slotted rotors (I'm not sure if this is the "premium brake upgrade" or the cops got something different). I will need new brake pads (soon) and possibly rotors (maybe in 6 months) and am trying to work out what sizes I need. I tried to measure the rotors - its really hard to get an accurate measurement as the tape goes over the hub and adds length - I tried it from behind the rotor and the best I can say is somewhere between 320-330mm. I don't want to take the caliper off to remove the rotor as I'm sure I'll stuff it up somehow and have to bleed the things. I don't know if this helps but I can see its a PBR caliper and it has "K247-259C7" stamped on top of it. The bottom of the caliper/pad measures 132mm (see crappy paint drawing I did below). I also measured the thickness. It looks as if factory new thickness is 28.0mm, my verniers show mine are down to 26.4mm. Is this OK? Can someone please enlighten me - I have read so many threads on this and other forums all with differing info...
  4. Given that the rear bar has a cutout on the right hand side and none on the left does this mean you have to cut the left of the rear bar to fit this exhaust?
  5. Yeah thinking of plugging it in to the 3.5mm plug - your right the boosted cable plug is 'male' but could you not use a male/female adapter (like $5 from dick smith) to get it to work?
  6. Just became the new owner of a BF2 XR6Turbo ZF and first thing on the list to do is getting my Nokia to go handfree for work. Options I can think of is 1) Ford blutooth kit ($500 ouch); 2) Universal bluetooth kit like Blueant ($100 but fiddly) 3) Some sort of Nokia car kit (I'd prefer wireless though). At the same time I was looking at the mp3 adaptor kits so I can buy an mp3 player to listen to my music - did some research on here and it seems I need the "boosted" cable to get decent sound ($130 from ASL or $85ish ebay). This got me thinking - if I had this mp3 cable adapter (3.5mm socket) does this mean I could buy some sort of a bluetooth dongle (with 3.5mm connector) like this: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-Bluetooth-3-5mm...%3A1|240%3A1318 Would this allow my bluetooth enabled Nokia to go handsfree as well as stream songs from the phone saving me buying an mp3 player?
  7. on the roll, same outcome....sleepy stuff...yeah riiighhht, no one wants to run anyway they just sulk off, except for echo drivers! Motards though mmm tasty, wouldnt mind me one of them would need an xr6t ute though to chuck it in the back of....best of both worlds
  8. Spend a bit more and you'll be beating some of the quicker bikes too. You should see the looks on their faces. Priceless!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> clearly these guy's can't ride Chooka <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I have had numerous runs with my mates Injected R1 with yoshi(no power commander) Rolling run from 100kmh(ON PRIVATE ROAD OF COURSE) He would clutch his bike and I could hold him till 200kmh,which is when I hit overdrive and he then passes me. So to answer Sutty post. Yes you can hold your own with 1000cc inline Jap bikes. My 2 cents <{POST_SNAPBACK}> mwhahahhah funny sh*t! Seriosly mate I would be finishing a cup of tea by the time you changed into second. And I ride a stock CBR600 and have run 10.99 at the Creek. Tracks dont measure 0-100 but roadtest show 0-100 in 2.7 seconds. A 1000 would kill you sorry. As for the T I would back it against most cars under $80K. Cheers.
  9. If you care more about looks instead of performance why not a second hand GT? IMO a better looker than the T, though personally I would go the T (only because I rate performance ahead of looks)
  10. What a fuggen tosser (not you the other guy). A heap of accidents in the nasho due to people cutting corners there - if you can't take a corner without cutting it get some driving lessons or go to the track Nice read though seems like you had more power on the exits, he had better brakes.
  11. No worries, I found it hard to beleive when it was actually happening but now that I find out the auto has only 139kw its not really surprising anymore!
  12. Dunnu but I have no reason to BS - my usual ride is a CBR600 Myabe it was an auto RX8 - don't they have less power?
  13. I was driving home from a Christmas do late at night not long ago and this guy in a black RX8 sped past but got stopped at the next set of lights. He had one passenger as did I. Speed limit was approx 100 on this dragstrip. Now this is the good part - the car I was driving was my work ute which is a BA XLS ute 182kw auto I was bored at that hour and he was carrying on revving the little thing with his fully sik girlfriend and his fully sik custom plates which allude me for now, but anyway I have never really respected or liked the RX8's so I thought why not When the private lights went green, I just left the auto in Perf. mode and floored it. Initally pulled about 3-4 carlengths and then maintained this gap all the way to the speed limit. Ended up having 4 runs with the same result each time. Oh and he was trying in a big way as you could this thing screaming and at the end of the fourth run he got so frustrated he started tailgaiting me. Moral of the story is that if my N/A work ute can beat one of these things a T will eat it up and spit it out at half throttle.
  14. ZF six speed is an optional accessory on XR6 non-turbo. Check the Ford site.
  15. I know how you feel (the test drive that is) Went for a ride in a stock XR6T auto last week and was VERY impressed with the shove in the back when the pedal was pressed (and this from a guy who rides a 10 sec bike daily), not to mention the sounds the turbo was emitting (bliss). The premium sound was also very good as well.
  16. I have a Yoshi exhaust on my CBR600F4i - I would love to claim it is for safety reasons, but honestly I just love the sound it makes On bikes if you buy an aftermarket exhaust you have to stick a little metal plate on the muffler and have it engraved stating it is legal to the dB limit, no sticker = trouble, but even if you have the sticker they can still test you As for the cops being too scared to pull over Harley riders - I don't think so - most are accountants under the helmets (obviously not talking about gangs here) It's just one of those things I think, Harleys are regarded as having there own unique sound (straight from the factory), whilst the cops pick on sports bikes *shrug* for aftermarket cans. Harleys are definatley not my cup of tea but each to their own. As for the centre muffler, yes its illegal, but I seriously doubt anyone would pick it unless it went over the pits.

    Xt Vs Xr6

Read the print to the right - it clearly states: XT was a manual XR6 times were recorded with automatic transmission.
  18. what you blokes need is a radar detector detector detector (RDDD) so when you detect a radar detector detector, you can turn your radar detector off.
  19. Obviously wasn't a GTR then...

    Roll Call

I'm still floating around - the Nizpro stuff makes a very interesting read indeed.....
  21. We all now the japanese gentlemans limit of 206kw is absolute They have a fair bit more than that
  22. Mitusbishi Galant VR4 - AWD turbo beast - too bad it looked like a baby Magna
  23. The boost gauge in my old VR4 just had a + or - just like the typhoon. I replaced it with a 4 inch white faced spitfire gauge for $80. Looked much better and scaled up to 30psi - simple to install too.
  24. I dont think it is rice as long as you have the performance to back it up. For instance an Apexi sticker on a Honda Civic is rice but on a GTR Skyline it is OK. Seeing he has a 300hp+ turbo 6 then I think it is worthy of FPR badges. PS - GT has FPV badges not FPR badges
