  1. 2010 will see the end of current format I6 and Boss no matter what due to EuroIV Emissions control. I6 may go direct injection, but unlikely as they (Fraud) already have the V6 twin turbo planned from the US powerplant, and will unlikely ever match the power and torque of the I6, so the F6 as we know it is likely to be canned long term. Same goes for V8 Boss is dead - Coyote will be the next platform. They're alloy, stll have overhead cams, but lighter and higher revving, and with force fed air, should scream. If they release a revised F6 with the current I6 retuned to 320+Kw and 600NM, it will have to be before July and Euro IV comes in, and absolutely will have to come with 265+ rear tread and beefier lower suspension as standard to put the power down. As more than 60% of FPV sales are V8's most likely scenario is a broader range of Coyote based V8's N/A, supercharged and a single model V6 with the twin snails. The V8's I'm guessing will need to be the big sellers to bring FPV's fight to HSV.
  2. Jeez FPV sure went all out on the photography budget for this one - digital camera snaps in the rear parking lot! At least they tried to edit the white ute out of background in the top pic. They gotta lift their game when "launching" new cars. Their competition wouldn't even let spy photos come out like that!
  3. Noice - you've got a choice car there I reckon sitting in that with the V8 sound under the bonnet, would be make it difficult to go home at night!
  4. My average is 10.5L/100. That's with a mix of highway (40%), many long (600-700Km return trip) mountain climbs/descents (40%), and some town driving (20%) over the last 10,000kms. I cruise at the speed limits on the highway, and give it plenty on the mountain trips, around town -whatever the traffics doing/or the speed limit. On the highways - instant consumption shows about 7.5 L/100km when the road is flat at 100Km/h, the rest of the time of course it varies hugely depending on terrain and what the right foot's doing, but averages all out at 10.5. The exact same driving pattern was showing an average of 11.5 at about the 25,000Km mark, so it's getting a bit better efficiency now. My car is stock BFMkII F6 with ZF Auto and with about 55'000kms on it, running 95 or 98 Octane and Valvoline Synpower 10W50 full synthetic.
  5. That will be a sweet ride. After reading June 08's Wheels review of the new GT engine and the Dyno test Vs the GTS - it outperformed the LS3 in power, torque, heat stability and consistently gave better figures. They have got alot right with this engine. It may not give you whiplash like an F6, but with plenty of power and torque for touring it is one hell of a unit - not to mention the sound. I think I'll be looking at one next time round. Have fun!
  6. It certainly opened up debate - and you will always get opinions at every end of the spectrum. But it sounds like you're making the right move at this stage - the FG F6 is a superior car in every way. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  7. Hmmm – had to add my 2c Sure you can pump stacks of power out of either a T or an F6. But if your going to mod anyway – you’ll get better results from the F6 everytime. What FPV gives you over a standard XR6T, and a generally better finished vehicle overall, for the extra coin – no question WORTH IT. OF Course it is - you do the Math. And these things are NOT all options on an XR6T, they only come from an FPV F6 Then the R-SPEC .... Now at the time, these cars were bought on road at the same or less than a standard F6 thanks to Fraud’s desperation and rebates so those that think these were 5 or 10k more – your’re a little misguided, and looking at list price is academic. Even now you can buy one for similar price to a std F6. RSPEC STANDARD inclusions. FPV Leather Sports seats - Leather and suede-feel bolsters, FPV logo embroidery and F6 silver stitching TrakPak lowered Performance suspension. 5-spoke 19”x 8” alloy wheels in Thunder Storm Grey with machined face, fitted with DunlopSP Sport Maxx 245/35ZR19 tyres. MP3 accessory port, R-Spec Floor Mats – yes whoopee R-Spec Limited number build plate Those Extras for Nothin – Worth it?? Uh yep. It simply sits and looks better on the road, handles better – without spending an extra cent, and for nothing over a standard F6 - Value?? And the fact theres only 300 built – there will always fewer than the standard F6’s and a sh*teload less than T’s on the road or on Carsales anytime. Everyone who drives one knows this, those who don’t are in denial. Soooo F6 vs XR6T (with a spend of 20k worth of mods) – No Brainer F6. And if you want that NOW, go the RSpec, it’s extra value for nothing, but then be prepared to hang on to it. The only real question here for the chap who started this poll with a million questions is timing – Go for the F6 RSpec now OR wait for some second hand F6 310’s. IMO I’d go with the latter, your Xr6T will not lose that much more in 6-12 months, you will lose more in changing twice. Then when you get the FG, tune it, put some Teins on it and you’ll have a rocketship. It’s just a question of can you wait – no one else can answer that. Nuff said.
  8. If you drive like a loon in suburban streets - first off your're an accident waiting to happen and a danger to others and second you're going to use a lot of fuel! Dah! WTF is the diff if you use 20, 22, 23 24 or 25 or bloody 26L or bloody more - who gives a flying F*** how much fuel you use unless you drive economically and are looking for ECONOMY! Expensive Daewoo Drivers! BTW mine uses 45L/100k when I flog it on the track - does that help?

  11. They need to wake the F*** up! How the hell are they going to make headway in this market by behaving like that. What a joke. FPV
  12. A freind of mine Bob, who's from England, often visits his mother who lives in Darbishire, in the UK. He was visiting his mum recently, and she notified him that she has some new pakistani neighbours, who are extremely freindly. She said they try too hard to be neighbourly and are constantly asking her over for drinks or afternoon tea, she finds it quite a drain. Suddenly there was a knock at the door - it was the neighbour, the husband of the couple had come over to invite them over for morning tea. Bob's mum gestured to him, and whispered in his ear, "oh go'on, could you go over for me - go over there and appease him, I can't be bothered". Bob politely accepted the invitation, and said to the neighbour, "Oh, OK, I'll come over, but just for a few minutes". So they went next door, to find the neighbours wife holding a three month old infant boy. She asked Bob in a heavy Pakistani accent "would you like to hold him? Go on, go on, he's likes being held...go on..." So bob agreed, sheepishly, holding his arms aout to take the baby. "Rock him, rock him" Said the mother of the child, gesturing... The father looked on intently to make sure Bob was doing it properly. "Now, wind him, wind him" the mother said in her Pakistani accent, and gesturing, "go on, wind him, wind him" "Oh dear" said Bob, "That's a bit harsh, how about I just give him a dead leg!"

  16. That'd have to be the first and only bill they would've passed on health in the whole 8 years. What a bunch of A******'s. They can kiss my But a moment of pause. Mayer Amschel Bauer, who founded the Rothschild family had said, "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws" His son, Amschel Mayer Rothschild said, "Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws." Another son, Nathan Mayer Rothschild bragged, "I care not what puppet is placed upon the throne of England to rule the Empire on which the sun never sets. The man who controls Britain's money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply." The fact is we all have to to them and no-one really has a choice as long as we have the current global monetary system in place. It's their system, and they have the licence to print money.

  18. Wow, its a plastic car. It looks Like a DEVO hat.
  19. Tis much bigger than normal market cycles including the last 3 crashes, and the great D. This situation is out of everyones control except the very few who control the US Federal reserve. It's going to lead to a new level of Global monetary control, global federal ownership, and debt to everyone else. We're yet to see the full extent of the crashing house of cards. I'm not sure I'd be buying anything just yet. Hanging on and buying gold is probably the only safe bet. The bunnys not dead yet.

  21. WOW What a weapon. FORD should employ you guys, pay you megabucks, produce this car as their F*****'n anniversary special, and watch the sales roll in! More power to you. Cant wait to see the final tuned result.
  22. Very true, and also to iTec's comment - as far as a legend Ford cars go - lets face it, since then, ford have been making them for the last 5 yrs, and a lot of us here drive one: The F6. This website and such a cult following is testament to that. So , apart from trying to flog some GT's you cant shift now anyway - why even bother with another trumped up, stickered, optioned, slower (than F6), heavy V8, that anyone can put a set of 6potters on, then option leather and mats, then knock down the driveaway price and still come out in front of your so called "anniversayry special" with money to spare for a decent suspension set up and zorst? If buyers want the sound of the V8 and a GT, they'd buy one like that already Unless it's truly special (and faster than the F6) the rest is just poppycock.
  23. That would be special - and they would sell! it's not a question of whether the Market exists for those types of cars - They would go in a flash! Lets face it, they just want to move stock they already have and can't sell. Ain't nothin' special about that. Tell'em thy're dreamin'!
  24. Stickers and token giveaways for $9500 aside. I think they would sell a hell of a lot more of them if they made a special edition SPECIAL. Like A blower on the 315GT making 400Kw, with suspension to Match (like on my RSpec) and brakes to stop the Space shuttle. Then they can put a special sticker on saying whatever they like - like GT400 I'd buy that!
  25. Yeah but we got special mats too ! Which are sitting in my hallway cupboard
