  5. Ahh yes! I never even though that the clips were to keep the injector aligned. Thank's for pointing that out. I was just a bit worried that the o-ring would be too close to the edge of the cup on the rail and would leak fuel
  6. Hi gang, I recently purchased a set of shiny new Bosch 968 'Greentops' for my turbo BA six cylinder. Installing them this afternoon I discovered that there is a clip groove on the factory injectors which is not on the new ones. I tried test fitting two of the injectors thinking I may be able to get away with not using the metal clips, but thy still have a fair range to slide in and out of the rail and manifold. In the first picture (although the rail is out of the engine) this is where the injector sits in the rail if the injector was bottomed out on the inlet manifold. I'm wondering if this will still leave enough room for the o-ring in the rail to seal, you can compare it in the second picture to the stock [blue] injector. It was suggested that I use a very fine hacksaw blade to carefully cut another groove into the 'Greentops' so I'm able to secure the injector to the fuel rail. The third picture shows the clip in the groove compared to stock. Just wanting to know peoples opinions and findings on fitting injectors to a stock six cylinder fuel rail. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide
  7. How are the valves different? Are they a larger size as compared to N/A or are they just made from a different material? It's amazing how many small and subtle differences there are between the N/A and turbo engines!
  8. Thankyou! Finally, someone that understands that it's not just about buying another car
  9. Would it be safe to assume that an N/A 4.0l engine converted to a factory turbo setup could survive being driven off boost for a short while?
  10. I bought my Fairmont three years ago with 115,000km's on the clock, I'm just a few hundred 'kays off ticking over 300,000km's. My new engine and transmission has only done 28,000km's.
  11. Now how could I cause dramas? I know how to behave on a cruise. As for the turbo, its'a comin'. I'm gathering parts as we speak.
  12. Any chance I can tag along? I know I don't have an 'T', but at least it's N/A heart is in the right place haha. I'll stay at the back of the convoy and keep out of the photos, I'm just desperate to come on a cruise to see some tough cars.
  13. 104ord, have you got a build thread anywhere? I'd love to see the process and get some ideas for going from N/A to forced induction...
  14. Is that right? Wow! You learn something new every day. I assume this would have been done to extend engine life and durability. Has Ford had a few bottom end failures in a stock configuration?
  15. How much for a copy then? Haha
