  1. I wish I had the skill to do it myself, but I dont... mates are useless for that sorta thing too. Thanks Jet, I'll send you a PM.
  2. Anyone recommend someone to lower my ba? Thinking kingsprings SL front, SSL rear. Flexible on shocks, ideally bilstein, but I suspect its probably not worth me getting them. My first quote seemed excessive. (4.5 hours labour at $90), they were to supply parts, which they would have been profiting off as well, that's excluding wheel alignment, I can get those for free elsewhere Ideally someone not to far out. Surely someone other than Bruce can do it. Unless I combine lowering with another round of mods its not worth me going out there.
  3. Anyone know what cooler that is? Its for sale (in SA), looks like a monza to me, but the seller is calling it a 'plazmaman oem' replacement. Does anyone know if they are marked in someway? The monza I currenly have has a massive 'monza' printed on it, which is lacking in this picture... Cheers
  4. Sweet thanks Jet. I put it back on earlier, tightened it up, and went for a spin, back to normal. I think one end must have been loose for a while, its quieter when I really step on the loud pedal! Used to get an odd induction noise sometimes for the past month, but only when I really stepped on it.
  5. Hey Noticed on my drive into work that I could hear a lot more spooling and induction noise this morning. I assumed the piping from my intercooler has come loose, as I changed the intercooler about 4 months ago, and the existing piping seemed a bit of a stretch at the time. I checked what I could when I got to the car park, and couldn't see anything obvious under the bonnet, thought it must be the pipe hidden by the bumper. Just got home, popped the bonnet, and found the pipe that connects the turbo to the cross over completely loose, just setting on the engine!! When it cools I'll reconnect. I had the turbo rebuild around 10 months ago..... Would I have done any damage driving it this way? I didnt boost, drove slowly (most of it was bumper to bumper). I can see oil on the edge of the turbo, and the edge of the cross over. Is this normal? Should I clean before reconnecting? Thanks. edit: BA MKII if it matters, stock turbo (rebuilt), wog cooler. Edited ~250rwkw (before cooler added)
  6. Thanks Jet, Just wanted to make sure it wasn't super urgent. I'll get it done in a few weeks. While I'm at it going to do injectors, cooler and hi flow cat. Fuel pump too if need be. Hoping for 300rwkw.
  7. Sub 11 sec, good work! Last night when I floored it, only 0-80km/h, then came to a stop, the idle was very rough for a while. Then then sorted itself out. I assume this is valve springs? I'm running ~ 250rwkw, stock everything apart from air intake, and rebuilt turbo+auto trans. I've been running that power for just over 6 months (had the car for 5.5 years). Once the valve springs start acting up like this, what is the urgency in getting them replaced?
  8. Event has been cancelled (Collingrove Hillclimb SA) due to weather, so no report. Bugger.
  9. Cool thanks I'll report back where I mounted and whether it was allowed or not tomorrow....
  10. Sticky as in permanent? I've got confidence in the suction cup, I've used it just driving around to experiment. But if its not going to pass scrutinising I'll have to come up with something else. I'm thinking of mounting it on the upper part of the windscreen, in front of the rear view mirror with the suction cup, then using a cable tie to the mirror. Not sure if the mirror can support the weight if something did happen though. Where do others mount?
  11. Hi Does anyone know the requirements for mounting a gopro in the cabin during a CAMS event? I've got the official suction cup mount, but I'm not sure if that's enough, Ive heard you need two mounts? Thanks
  12. Got my car serviced at Paul Pavlou yesterday, was happy. Did a good job, and picked up on things they should. Got a dyno run too, to compare to Bruce's, everyone says his is generous. Pulled 256rwkw at Bruce's in January this year immediately after the tune, 247rwkw at Pauls. Not sure of the temp difference, but it would have been much cooler 2 days ago then Jan, I remember using the a/c in the Lancer on the way to pick it up and watch the dyno run. Car is the same..... ...almost....., I was at Bruces for the dyno run in Jan, no problems. After the run two days ago they said it misfired a couple times after the 3rd run, indicating the valve springs couldn't settle back down initially. They said under normal road use I'd probably never hit the same issue, but if I chase more power I'll have to do them for sure. Undecided if I'll go further.... would love the magical 300rwkw though. If the valve springs are showing weakness now I'm inclined to do them, which means I might as well do the injectors, and actuator, oh and hiflow cat, and a intercooler and and and..... Giving the Collingrove Hillclimb a shot this weekend which will be a laugh. I know a few guys in rex's that do it, said I'd give it a go for fun. I'm wondering how I'm going to launch of the line in the wet...slowwwwwwwly I guess. I just hope I can get a few runs in without the backend overtaking the front... I know its not an event suited to a large rwd car. Anyone else had a crack in their T? Any tips?
  13. Thanks Nick (your loc says melb?) Impatience got me, booked in for next wed earlier today. Figured how bad can it be, its just an oil change! Plus all the fancy classics there everyday would have very particular owners! Lonsdale (day off work) is currently a deterrent to doing more to the car. Paul is 2mins away. Kind of hoping its a bad experience, or it could get expensive.
  14. Its got quiet here lately, you lot all sick? I'm due for a service, can't be bothered going all the way to Lonsdale for it, only way I can really manage it is taking a day off work, hardly worth it just for an oil change. Has anyone been to http://www.paulpavloumotors.com.au/ on George st, Thebarton? I go past it everyday, and there are always multiple cars that are drool worthy, and quite often a falcon of sorts.
  15. So I got a sandwich plate today, as pictured. Have I been given a bum steer with the middle bit- surely it must have thread on the inside so that it screws onto the engine? If I put together what I have, the sandwich plate screws on to the oil filter, but what remains is a smooth hole in the middle, doesnt seem right to me....
  16. Bubbleboy - the supplied t piece is much narrower than the tube in the picture, will this effect anything? We are talking the tube right in the front of that pic, or are you referring to the smaller one at the back of the pic? Thanks
  17. Hi All I bought some gauges for my BA Mk2 T: * Autometer Cobalt Oil Temp (electrical) Half Sweep 60-170C 6148-M * Autometer Cobalt Boost (mechanical) Full Sweep 30vac-20psi 6107 * SAAS 2 gauge pod I've looked over the instructions, and searched high and low, but I can't find precise details on how to do the 'under the hood' part of hooking them up. I'm somewhat confident with the electrical aspect, but not the under the hood stuff. I appreciate the existing guides, but they seem to trial off on this department, and assume you know what your doing, which I dont Mechanical Boost Gauge: It came with a tiny t-piece, is this adequate it seems too small? I assume I should use a screw clamp or what ever they are called at each end? Or do I need another t piece? Next, where do I actually put it, I gather its one of these hoses? Electrical Oil Temp: Came with what is pictured here: Do people use this, or do I get a 'sandwhich plate', which goes between the oil filter and filter screw in? Thanks
  18. Lol @ the drunk. Was always concerning when I used to work at a servo and a drunk would come in to pay for his petrol and then drive off. Hard to confirm if they are drunk until they came in to pay though, and by then they'd be out the door well before cops could come. I'm gonna head to the drags, never been! Want to try it myself, figure I should go and watch at least once first
  19. I felt like I needed a shower every time I got out of it!
  20. TC - sounds like I need to get used it turning it off, and taking the right hand turn on to south rd easy in the mornings.... Marc - Straight 85, is that a pain in adelaide?
  21. Marc - Nice number! What are you running? Since getting bruce to tune mine two weeks ago, I've noticed something strange. When I _really_ gun it, at around 4000rpm then the boost is coming on, my wheels slip, and traction control engages. When this happens, often my TC light stays on until I stop and start the car. From what I read on the general forums, this isn't completely uncommon, with people having all sorts of crazy theories, from stuffed abs, to a checkbox the tuner didnt check while tuning. With those tuned from bruce, did you have this after a tune, what was the fix?
  22. Collonades - never been there. Maybe I'll just hide in my boot. Or in the back corner behind cars on the dyno. Would smell better than BO.... and the view would be better than muffin tops!
  23. So were and when can you do a 1/4 mile? I'm a complete noob to this sorta thing. I wouldnt have any idea what to do on the day, or before... http://racingonn.com.au/ - "Promotions" is a bit of a joke. Clear as mud. They have an 'entry form'. All I want to do is a timed run or two. Not competitive. Is that an 'entry'? Do they have newbie days? I know I'm not gonna set the house on fire, and a heap of guys would have done a time on a stock xr6t with a tune (what would that time be?), but I want to do it for the experience.
