  6. I had the same problem on the weekend. I called ford and they sent me the parts diagram so I could ID the bit that was broken. Could be helpful to you all. They quoted me $18.50 for 9v684 and $36 for 6c661.

    10psi Tune

Yeah I do plan to get in on a dyno, but I have to drive from adelaide to katherine in the NT on monday, so it'll have to be done in darwin. Anyone know anywhere?

    10psi Tune

I finally got hold of the previous owner of the car, and it turns out that ford had the car for the first 8 thousand k's, and used it as a development car, experimenting with various mods and lending it to motoring journalists etc. The bottom line is that the tune was done by ford development, and they were the ones that locked the ecu, and need to be contacted to unlock it. The previous owner has all the ford docs for this, and so it all ought to be covered by warranty.

I'm in adelaide. I got it from a dealer, so after christmas I'll see if I can get the details of the previous owner and give them a call. Some history would be good.

    10psi Tune

G'day all, I've just bought a BAII XR6T manual, and after having it's 45000k service by ford discovered that it has had some kind of tune and is running 10-11psi boost. Ford reckon it should be put back to stock, but I guess they'd probably say that if you changed the rims. The problem is that ford reckon the computer is locked and they can't put the stock tune back on, and so are recommending a new comp ($1200). I've had one issue where the vacuum hose for the turbo came unstuck, resulting in some massive boost, and some backfiring over 4000rpm, but now that's fixed it's running beautifully. Should I leave it, go back to stock somehow, or try and get it detuned a bit somehow? I'd like the car to last a few years ideally, and I'm unsure how much damage running this kind of tune is likely to do over time. Incidentally, I've got no idea if it has any other mods. Any advice or suggestions as to what the best course of action is, and why the comp may be locked? Cheers.
