  1. there is a large amount of wires under the dash locating the right ones might be a problem. surely someone has done this before?
  2. Hey guys & Girls, I have recently brought a G6E Turbo. hate povo sound so I changed the polarity of the sub and installed Rockford punch 6.5" Splits in the front and punch 6.5 component in the rear. I have been using the car for a few weeks with the speakers running off the ICC. found it not that much better than the orig speakers so I have now purchased a ( http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.aspx?itemid=120465 ) nice little amp I want to mount it in the dash somewhere. now my problem is iv got no idea where the easiest spot is to find the speaker wires to hijack. Can anyone point out where to find and what color the wires are? Regards
  3. well auto was from a previous tuner in melb I got burnt from and he claimed it had been modified. but I'm not sure. I just drove the car. 1 seems to be fine I can feel it go into 2nd but slips like mad and cannot fell a change into 3r or 4th. seems like the get box is stuffed to me. also seems to not slip as much when its cold.
  4. hi guys and girls, iv had a ba for sometime and was having some issues with it so I took it a tuner in melbourne (I live in regional vic) who found ring lands broken. he put a tune in it so I could drive it home at my request ( on the drive home the car didn't run smooth and gear changes very sloppy n slow, didn't have a gear changing issue before hand). once I got the car home I pulled the engine out and found ring broken. I rebuilt the engine and put back in the car. the car still wasn't smooth and gear box issue still present. I was certain the problem was in the tune. bedded in the rings and retuned to the tuner in melt to get a tune finished to that we found the VCT was not working after spending a day at his workshop trying to figure it out I returned home however this time he gave me a differ tune which made the car drive perfect and changed gears nice and hard. drivability was amazing. At home found a broken wire from a cam pos sensor. repaired and returned to melb to get tuned finished. car made decent power @ 350kws and as it was raining I left to go home. However this tune seems to be like the first. cannot even notice gear changes and doesn't change in triptronic mode. as it was a sat I couldn't get a hold of him and he had was not at the business. I called him on monday and he said he would check the tune and email it to me I could then upload onto the scx3 and upload onto car. he has sent me tune but its the same. My question is is there a lot of settings in the ECU to adjust gear changes and is it possible to get someones basic tune to try a completely differ tune. I don't want a tune to make power just to check the gear box. the tuner I have been using is now telling me my gearbox is stuffed. but just seems weird how its happens since his tune has gone in. A3YA is the comp code and its a BA 4speed auto. has deka injectors Is what I'm asking too much???
  5. Does fordxr6turbo.com get involved with the cruse for charity events. There is one coming up soon and its about 4 hours from me just trying to decide if to attend?
  6. ill see if I can find the post im preaty sure its right but ill check. Thanks
  7. dion seems to be very helpful so far with my car. sad to say iv had a bit of a dodgy mechanic working on it and dion is tryin to resurrect all the issues for me. seems very helpful. im dropping the car off to him tomorrow after I have fixed the VCT. hopefully all goes well.
  8. hello guys and girls. I have a heavily modified xr6 and once again having issues. I dropped my car off at dynomite performance to get tuned after a it had been rebuilt around a yr ago has been running on an old tuners tune since rebuild hasnt been flogged didnt get driven for 4 months of the 8 months its been on the road since build. done around 4000 kms. so dropped off to dynomite who adjusted the new turbo I bolted on (actuator) and started tune but promptly stopped when found the vct wasnt working. after spending some time with my dad at ford (as he is a mechanic for ford where I live) we replaced cam pos sensors and crank angle sensor. ran the car on the road and now after speaking to dion they seem to be working ok. however I noticed the dipstick out tonight and oil hanging around. first time its done this. I have completed a compression test all cyl at 190psi all very consistent and passed leak down cant understand where this blow by is comin from. while the intake on the turbo is getting done the rocker cover bleed hose goes to a catch can which vents to a atmos (filtered) can anyone share some insight regards Anthony
  9. Hey, I have a 03 BA with heavy mods which makes this problem hard to find.I was having issues when gettin up in the revs, power loss and other not real smooth. The turbo was gettin long in the tooth and I wasnt sure about the tune in it as I have been unhappy with my previous tuner. so I thort what the hell get me turbo fixed up and then retune see if the problem persists. bolted the new turbo on gate modded and flapa (actual new read housing) new bearing high flo 66mm trim wheel and .70 comp housing 16psi actuator. and limped down to dynomite performance who adjusted actuator to suite and begun to tune. got stuck on a Cam timming issue where the cams not adjusting their stuck on -10 degs. Dion put known working cam pos sensors the part in the back of the rocker covers in to still not work. I decided to take the car home to echuca as my father works at our local ford dealer to see if we can fix the problem. We put the car on the computer and found the cams do adjust however its very minor and eraticly. I pulled rocker cover off and checked cams where install properly and not damaged. there was a code logged in the computer however this was from havin the exhaust sensor disconnected. The exhaust sensor wire has been damaged in the past but has been repaired properly. We are guessing the computer is not logging any other errors as the PCM is seeing the cams working but there not failing enough to log a code. does anyone have an idea or ever had a problem/herd of any one with a sim problem. I want to try a new computer but its a fair job to do on chance. this sat comming we are taking my car and his car in to compair and maybe try some parts but its going to be a *beep* of a job I think. Regards Anthony
  10. GCG charge 2150 on average for the mod not including a .70 comp housing they just high flow it and do flapper mod and put a 66mm wheel in. im have just sent mine to them but im thinkin I want the .70 but they are tryin to talk me out of it. claiming its laggy. mabye they dont want to do it. im having trouble getting in contact with mtq turbo does anyone have a ph no
  11. Also if its not too rude of a question what price did u pay
  12. Hello MRDOSE, were u able to get the boost down while maintaing your power. as that's wat I want to acheive firstly is to maintain my power but at lower levels
  13. Hello Hiddeous, It seems your turbo is modded more than what GCG do as you have a .70 comp housing. who done your turbo mod. im leaning toward the .70 comp housing way even though things need modding.
  14. awsome good to hear. where is MTQ I might call them.
  15. hey guys & girls, im in the procrss of doing something with my turbo. Not sure if it put a T04Z and go the hole works or something else. I contacted GCG Turbs in sydney to get a ruf price on a T04Z. the guy told me they have an option that is you send them your turbo the refurb it, do the flapper mod with actuator and install a bigger turbine keeping all existing housings so it a bolt straight back on job. when I asked how does this compair to a T04z I got the answer it very close but not quite as big but very close my question is how much biger than std is a T04Z and has anyone had this mod done from GCG I want to find out if its worth it as it costs $2150. if its not really worth it I would rather put that money toward a t04z and setup. The reason for the upgrade is I have my std turbo running 18psi and I want to get my boost levels down to say 14 and maybe in the future push it a bit harder. If anyone can help it would be great regards Anthony
