  3. Hanna Mikkola (80's Rally) James Hunt, Fangio, Brabham (Early F1, before computers) And the 60's and 70's Aussie touring car drivers, Bob Jane, Beechey and Geoghan, and Moffat. I prefer drivers from the age when everything you did wasn't computer controlled, it took real skill to drive and win! Cheers,

This is a pic of my two bikes.. at Trade in time My L's and P's were spent on a 2002 SR250 Yamaha, and it was Traded in for a VFR800 VTec Unfortunately after my problems with my Falcon, the VFR went to pay off debt :-( Shattered! From XR6T and Bike to No Car and No Bike Cheers, Cameron

    Close Me

Does a full motec system exhaust count? Can I please order one for my Datsun 120y? or would I be better off fitting it to my FSM Niki 650? along with a T88? Number plate DUZ-07Z :-) Rice On Man! Happy trails! Cameron
  7. :-) As Turb06 says above in the setting for the game you can choose how it reports things like MPH KPH torque and power etc... Unlike KPH to MPH (ie 320km/h doesn't equal 320MPH) for some reason 713hp suddenly becomes 713kw or 713ps or whatever you choose as your "rating" Its just something the programmers didn't sort out I reckon just like the bloody stupid Spec B mode, whenever the computer drives a car it goes WHACK straight into the back of the car in front all the time. Can't work out how to pull out from behind and pass! Bit like some V8 Supercar Drivers with the surname Kelly *COUGH COUGH*........... :-) Cheers Cameron
  8. AHHH for the love of MIKE .... LOL iPods in Ford! Just Don't do it! RUN RUN RUN RUN Quote Senior Ford Official in the CTTT of NSW "The Auxialiary port on the Falcons were not designed with the iPod in mind, and therefore the iPod is to blame for the 35 visits and the trip to melbourne and the 107 days you didn't have your car" *tongue out of cheek* Seriously though this is the general gist of what Ford Aus said to me about my Audio problems. Yes you can do it, and yes it works fine, either by FM tuner (Itrip etc) or via Aux plugs. Cheers, Cameron
  9. Whatever happens, I just hope for more on track racing, and less Pit stop "ACTION"! Just like F1 V8SC seems to have a little too much pitstop action for my tastes. Go the Fords! (coz I just can't bring myself to hate Ford quite that much to want a Expensive Daewoo to win) Cheers, Cameron
  10. Thanks for your support there Scotty! You will be glad to know that I will be rejoining the ranks of Ford shortly. I am arranging myself funding, out side the knowledge of the Director of Finance, for a Older Classic Ford(s). :-) To supplement my Japanese side dish of Familia and Motorbike. Cheers, Cameron
  11. G'day Yeah the PCOTY is for new cars, but they mentioned that the changes to the Mk2's were enough to make it qualify but they went with the Typhoon instead.... Fair enough in some regards, but if I pay 10k or 200k I expect the car to be able to be driven! No Brakes, No clutch, no power steering, and a confused Auto amongst the Aussie brigade do not make me all that impressed! Anyone remember the Suzuki Swift GTI's? Cheap nasty and tinny, went hard for a 1.3, thrashed sensless by most of the younger owners, but for most of them they worked day in day out. Swifts didn't cost 50, 60 or 100k..... and when you consider the standard base swift, the GTi's ended up pretty good! Either way, FPV and HSV need to sort out the key basics first. IMHO that starts with the engine, gearbox and drivetrain being "bulletproof" followed by brakes and suspension. None of those items should ever cause them to have car halting problems in a vehicle that is performance marketed. Whatever you drive, you can have fun in it, or it can be the bane of your existance! Cheers, Cameron
  12. Nah surely not, got the wrong person I think......... Besides I haven't mentioned who won nor who came last. And the winner is.................... Cheers, Cameron
  13. G'day, I've got a Japanese Import Mazda Familia, I reckon its pretty good. The risks: Because you can't really view the car in person or talk to the owner you do have a problem getting the right car. Because Australia has funny laws and import restrictions you will need to change, all the fluids in the car, and tyres (sometimes) and seatbelts, and remove any of the aftermarket stuff fitted to it, before it will go through compliance. *NOTE* Not all compliancers are the same, just like not every rego inspection is the same. You can buy Skylines and Supras etc from Car dealers now who specialise in import cars, and since they are already complied you don't need to worry about doing it yourself. You are basically buying a 2nd hand car from a licensed Motor Dealer. The only dodgey stuff I've seen, is people bringing cars in for rally / parts only (it is a different status meaning that you cannot legally register a vehicle brought in for parts / rally use for road use) and then taking it to another state to bypass the national registration records. THe other thing I have seen is a supposed R32 Skyline GTR which was dark grey, but the compliance plate fitted to it said it was a silver R32 Skyline GTS. It had all the GTR bits on it, Diffs, HICAS, body panels the lot..... Somehow this car had gone from a 2.0litre 6cyl non turbo RWD to a 2.6 Litre Twin Turbo AWD.......... Dodgy to the extreme! Cheers, Cameron
  14. No you need not worry, It wasn't a turbo Astra or similar, it was a vehicle few of us will ever own, But good luck to the lucky ones who do :-) My hands up for a quick trip! LOL Manufacturers build to a price, but when you start paying 70 - 80k for something It really should perform a little better. My main gripe is that all of the Australian cars in the field seem to have some kind of problem, except the GTP. Why can't they build a car which can be used the way it is marketed. Porsche and BMW build a car and they "encourage" (shock horror) you to drive them the way they can be. Which is a comment that the journalists make in the article, because the BMW and the Porsche have fully switchable Traction and stability controls, unlike the Mercedes in the field. I've been for a track day in BMW's from 316ti's to M5's (about three years ago) and whilst the 316ti's weren't the quickest thing I've ever been in around a track, they were 10/10th all day, and nothing broke or nothing leaked or was spat out or anything....... and the M3's? They are real performance cars, Great performance, great luxury and great reliability. My Dad's 1970 XW Ph 2 went harder than my XR6T and top speed too, although I have to concede that it was only slightly  noisier than my Old XR6T....... Cheers, Cameron
  15. G'day, *Rant Mode On* Without ruining the magazine article for those who haven't read it yet, The current issue of Motor has the PCOTY details in it, and of course they make mention of the problems they had with the Typhoon, and also why the BA MK II XR6 wasn't in the field. Basically because they were going to use the Typhoon they didn't take the XR6.. The thing I was interested in wasn't the mega dollar stuff because most people can't afford them anyway (although I wouldn't mind owning a SL65 just to say my car had a newton kilometer of torque), it was that the big Aussie cars all had some kinda problem. The Typhoon has been well documented, and denied / argued about, the GTP still suffers from excess weight and poor engine delivery for a supposed 290kw car, the SS ran out of brakes, the VZ Monaro spat its power steering fluid everywhere, and the AUto GTO couldn't make its mind up what gear it wanted to be in. It seems to me that the manufacturers, both Ford an Expensive Daewoo have lost the plot.... The GT / GTHO of the 70's were performance Icons, and yes the Monaro too, but now we seem to have these soft "passed" off versions which can't be driven hard or maybe not hard just Harder than what is defined as normal... And before anyone says oh yeah but its a passenger car its not a sports car....... Nothing else there at PCOTY spat anything out, or broke anything, some were cheaper some were more expensive. Finally, despite my troubles with Ford et al, I request that bosses in Ford Australia remove their heads from their rectal regions and start building PERFORMANCE cars. I don't want to hear excuses, I don't want to have marketing rubbish spouted everywhere. I want the king of the Aussie performance cars to be a FORD! GTHO ruled...... Therefore BA Falcon ????? should rule. Its not hard.... But don't expect me to pay 5-15k more than an HSV and be 0.5 to 1.8 seconds slower than them and be happy...... (Clubsport VZ vs GT / GTP BA ) *Rant Mode off* Comments Please; Cheers, Cameron
  16. Gavin, Yep the Car was sent back from melbourne with the brakes locked on, and even 240kw wasn't enough to move it against the brakes! Got stuck on Ryde Road in Sydney at 6pm on a Friday afternoon...... Still I at least had Premiums! Track; My Current Ride is a 92' Familia GTR-Ae, a limited run of what is basically a Mazda 323, Jap spec with AWD, and lots of Group A Rally Homologation parts on it. Low to Mid 13's stock, but as it has a C/R gearbox tops out at about 170 or so...... 152kw ATW (AWD Dyno) Shoot 4 @ 12psi, and 127.8 on Autotech's Dyno at Granville engine totally stock. Fun light little thing to chuck around. As a comparison against my ex T, the Familia is about 4 seconds a lap quicker around Wakefield Park. Cheers, Cameron
  17. 17? That's bad, But how about 34 in my case........... Towed back to Ford with locked solid brakes once, Headlight failures, Alternator, battery, gearbox, Water Pump, left wheel bearing, Misfire / flatspot....... Trucked to Melbourne from Sydney........ (came back worse than when sent) Still now I have found a better car IMO. Now instead of im Cheers, Cameron
  18. I got one too, Spirit perhaps, but not after my dramas..... Although the family did get a great laugh out of its arrival nonetheless. Cheers and Merry Xmas Cameron
  19. G'day, Be warned this is something that Ford Australia and the Dealer blamed for "causing" my original complaint of radio and CD interference with Premium Sound. Despite the fact that I bought the iPod 4 months after I reported the car....... Yes an iPod can be connected via a HIGH quality cable to either the factory provided (ordered) Aux Input jack, which I do not recommend because the quality and workmanship of this item is so poor that it renders the device unlistenable or worst case, like my car, completely stuff the entire audio system up. You can create your own AUx jack as other have mentioned above and in other threads, or you can buy the various FM Tuner type plug ins for the iPod itself. Happy Listening... Cameron
  20. 60L tank in my Familia, gets a nice 550-680 City/Highway, even got 400 around wakefield! Brrm Brrm! And My Familia is T! Cameron
  21. Definately a legal suit against Nike if that was in America! LOL in fact a legal suit against anyone and everyone ! "Ok ok did anyone see who kicked that ball? " 140foot high, 800kg, two tattoos black hair, geez I think we gonna need the SWAT Squad "
  22. DO you have the reports and the dates you have taken it back in relation to the problem. If you reported it fairly early on and you have records or reciepts as mentioned above then you should be able to say that its an ongoing issue. It is simliar to the problems I went through chasing up issues with my car, and you will need every bit of help to get it done. Good Luck Cameron
  23. G'day I shoulda said Hello to you while you were down there, as I was there too in my replacement for the XR6T.... That's my Mates GTiR in the 2nd Pic, and Japanese it may be, but faster than XR6t it is! :-) Oh by the way Nice Spin in the 3rd Photo Cheers, Cameron
  24. This is the place for all the info, There is a little tag there for "Create own" MyPlates Cheers, Cameron
  25. Look I think everyone is missing the point, Its all PHULLY SHICK MAYTE! LIKE YEAH SWOIT EXIE MAAAAYTE! That's why! And its also why real cars don't need them! My Father's XW GTHO Ph2 ran well enough with two neat straight cut exhausts as standard, slightly faster than the majority of excels and lancers and swifts fitted with the like... Imagine just how fast the XW would have gone with two fully shick 5" N1 Barrell Tips on it at least double! Cheers, Cameron
