  1. It would be a hard choice. Last purchase I waited approximately 4.5 hours to get the tune.
  2. The reason why a lot of us have external pumps is to combat the surge issues which develop at higher power levels. The placement of the pick ups in the tank slurp air instead fuel at half tank or below when under heavy accelaration. Not good. The best solution is to fit a surge tank and an inline pump. the original pump feeds the surge tank whilst the inline unit ensures enough fuel is being supplied.
  3. I'm really looking forward to this! Will be great to catch up with guys I've met before (like big girl's blouse Tabitha) and put a face to the name for all the "newbies".
  4. Sniper will be the lowest cost for a flashbox, bullit, tune software/licence combo.
  5. I was a little disappointed that it took until the end of page 2 for Jeff to sink the boot in. Normally it doesn't take that long. Opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one. From my own experience I can say this: - On the stock motor(Mod for mod), Nick was able to produce more power/drivability out of my car than anyone else. - When my engine was rebuilt by a shop in Brisbane (took them over 6 months), it lasted less than 30km before spinning a bearing. Nick built the replacement for me in Melbourne. The F*ST f*ckwits in Brisbane did not have time to fit it, so Nick came up with his offsider to put my car back together and tune it. I cannot think of too many others who would be willing to do that without a bill large enough to mortgage your house for. - Nick travels around the country tuning cars, which has its challenges regarding time and the use of dyno's other than his own. I currently run tunes from a Qld based workshop. I do this purely to have access to the tuner whenever I make additional mods to the car without having to wait for Nick's next trip to Qld. I would have no issue in having Nick look after my car if I was based in Melbourne.
  6. Sounds like some awesome hardware. The concern most people have is that the boost level does not correspond to anywhere near the power you should now have. the plenum and high flow induction and exhaust normally provide much highed output at LOWER boost levels. Therefore, when the boost s actually wound up to 18PSI, the power should already be well into the 400's. Please ask to see the AFR's and torque curves, as well as the BEFORE mods power run for you car to gauge the actual gains made. a run down the strip purely top get the MPH would also be handy to get an idea of the actual power being generated.
  7. Here's an idea. We could gaffa tape Tabitha to the wall and make him watch whilst Paul throws a tune in his car.
  8. We had this exact decision some time ago. The wife had a Mazda 6 previously and we really loved the service from the local Mazda dealer. We tested the CX7 and, although good, was not big enough and had no 7 seat option. We deliberately delayed our buying decision until the CX9 was available for a test drive. We found it way too large, cumbersome to park and further away from standard sedan handling/drivability. The 3rd row of seats in the CX9 are almost more comfortable than the middle row, but this comes at a price. the thing is BIG. Next day the local Ford Dealer arrange for my wife to test the TTG overnight. She was sold on just the drive home. That was nearly 12 months ago and we still love the TTG. We don't use the 3rd row of seats often, but do come in very handy. Typhoon air box, bung removed and slight touch up to the 0's and 1's sees the TTG with economy between mid 13's and mid 14's / 100km, with enough grunt to leave almost any standard HSV looking at the back of it disappearing into the distance. Truly a great car.

I saw the same show from probably the same seats a couple of months back when the tent was pitched at Loganholme. Was it one of the guys in the spinning contraption that fell? If it was then it was only a matter of time. The guy running on the outside nearly fell off during the performance we saw. Also the globe with the bikes....... You can imagine the view we had when three quarters of the way through the act there was a loud BANG! 2 bikes at the bottom with 1 rider underneath it all motionless. 2nd rider was dragging the bikes and rider out of the way to get the door open whilst the 3rd stayed circling at the top of the globe (no room to come down). The finale went on after they dragged the rider away. they even brought the rider back to wave to the crowd with an able bodied rider under each arm. Weekend at Bernie's came to mind....... The includes a girl standing in the middle at the bottom of the globe in one part of the act. Jetute went the the performance after us. They still had the same number of riders but the girl had been replaced by a bloke. Whatever these guys earn to do this stuff is not enough......
  10. Besides the cars on dyno & picking on big girl's blouse Tabitha, what other entertainment has Paul organised for us? Dancing girls, raffles, BBQ?
  11. Give it 2 months max. You'll be over it and looking for more. Enjoy the power and the new addiction.
  12. Awesome effort! The sound of a big bore V8 with twin screws on song would be as awesome as the shove it can produce.
  13. I'd say Jet's going to turn up as well. Neither of us has made it to a XR6T social event for some time so it'll bee good to catch up with a few of you.
  14. What did the car make on the standard tune?
  15. How about a skid pan day? We haven't had one for ages and the last one was an absolute hoot.
  16. Just so I can see Tab's
  17. 12:1 is just about perfect. Mid 12's are just fine, particularly at lower boost levels (10PSI included). If that is what you had on your 8 PSI map then drive and enjoy.
  18. Or live tuning (at least currently).

That is an impressive power increase over stock. I'm also glad to see you are taking the sensitive route and driving with the more moderate tune first. I also note that the power run was done in 8F instead of 6F for a different ramp rate. For those that know these things, what difference would this make to the overall numbers?
  20. Nice car Tabitha.
  21. So who is the Australian SNIPER distributor?
  22. Steph, Sounds like valve float.
  23. Great results, especially with 30 degree temps.
  24. The Mrs is a lead foot from way back. A seduce TTG, debunged, Typhoon intake, panel filter and tune. Fantastic car.
