  1. Having been around these things since the early BA's, I have some experience with quite a few different coolers on the T and F6. Most of the things here I agree with. That is: - rising intake temps will reduce timing and rob power - the cooler is a heat sink and therefore a bigger one will keep temps down a little longer than a smaller one (ignoring flow for the moment) - the Monza unit is cheap and you get what you pay for. However, I ran the original prototype with a different core for a year or so on the BA T. The car ran over 300RWKW. It would have run more with a better unit, BUT, ran a sh!tload more with it than with the stock BA cooler. It is bigger and it had better flow. Would I put it on a car today? Probably not. But I'm a little older and the extra folding for a better setup is not as hard to find. On a limited budget and power expectations though, it is a better option than running the stock BA unit.
  2. I have a clunky rear in the FG. Started about 8K ago and is not getting any better. Having had a number of these cars, it sounds like a diff bush. Since I'll have to go through the painful exercise of convincing FoMoCo to replace this, I thought I'd source a better replacement unit and hand it to them to replace. This is frustrating as I'm trying to iron out all warranty related issues before any hardware installs and the tune. Senna, could you please drop me a not(PM) on how to contact you to get my hands on a good set. Cheers
  3. That's pretty much it. The wheel spin is then taken care of by traction control. Easy enough to test, but if it's an FG then it will have it.
  4. Thanks for the replies guys. I wasn't sure if the carrier or the existing lines would fit. May have to get her some blingy wheels to go with the better brakes.
  5. 2011 FG F6 Nitro Manual - 186
  6. I've recently traded in the BAII Typhoon for a new FG F6. Before handing the Phoon over, I took out the 4 pot Brembo's I'd fitted and replaced the original premium brakes. My wife has a tuned TTG and could use the extra stopping power from the Brembos, but I'm not sure if its a straight fit. Since the F6X has these brakes I thought they would be no problem. Would any of you know if they fit in without any changes to mounts/lines?

    Colours

Hey Tabitha! How's the black been during this summer? Have you found it really hot?

    Colours

Anyone have any inside scoops on upcoming colours? Looking to order a new one soon and the current pallet doesn't really set the world on fire....
  9. FAR CANAL! And I haven't even ordered yet. BTW, does anyone know when the series II will be rolled out?
  10. Oh crap. Looks like I'll have a long wait ahead for a 2011 build...
  11. Bring back Rapid!!!!!
  12. It's also more about the gain than an absolute figure. What did the car run stock?
  13. I know how you feel mate. I lost mine for the better part of a year. At least your engine builder/tuner has not closed their doors and done a runner with your money. Hang in there. It will eventually turn good.
  14. What symptoms did you have from the regulator malfunction?
  15. I don't know if this will work on an aftermarket alarm system. The installer/supplier should be able to provide you with the correct rpocedure.
  16. I believe that the alarm will not go off if you have your ignition switched to the "ON" position prior to disconnecting the terminal.
  17. The AFR's are too rich to start with. Do you have boost graphs?
  18. I had a shop do the work. They've already relocated the earth once but the ussies are still persisting. The second symptom just seem really strange, and I haven't heard of this with anyone else...
  19. I've recently had my battery relocated into the boot and have noticed some issues as a result of the change: 1. An electrical whine coming through the stereo. I've read about this before but not sure what the fix is. 2. A voltage drop (?)) on throttle application. I only noticed this the first time I drove the car after dark. Every time throttle is applied in any significant amounts the headlights will "blink" just as the car/turbo is starting to ramp up. The lights do not go off fully, but there is a definite dip. I figure that this cannot be good considering the software calculates all sorts of things (including injector trimming) on voltage. So gurus of the electrical kind, please lend a hand with some ideas to fix these issues as they are driving me up the wall.
  20. How much are the Vipec ECu's? Are the aftermarket ECu's still a slice and splice option for cabling, or do they have options to place an adapter in the existing loom?
  21. Slightly away from serials. What ever happened to the Naked News?
  22. I also like the demo run by the Commodore. Sounded great.
  23. Mine is in the same boat but will be turning up anyway. At least come down.
  24. I'll need to be gone by about 12.30, so an earlier run would be handy.
  25. I think the day is more about enjoying the cars, gigles and company rather than an all out power war. Therefore, I would expect that the rules will say run what you brung. So. Put in whatever fuel takes your fancy, but DISCLOSE what it is just to keep in the spirit of things. Does that sound right folks?
