Gday all, I have in my possesion a BA MKii complete engine, including turbo, intake and exhaust manifolds and wiring loom. The engine is currently being fully reconditioned. I plan to offer it for sale and was wondering if anyone could give me a price guide of what I should be asking. Ive tried searching ebay etc and cant see any complete motors for sale. Ive got a rough idea as I bought a new engine myself about 6 months ago however it is a Typhoon engine with billet rods and forged pistons so not exactly comparable. It is being reconditioned by a well known Sydney reconditioner which will inc;ude a 12 month warranty. Also if anyone is interested in buying it, feel free to make an offer Engine is located in Kogarah.

Guys, I am looking at upgrading my intercooler in my BF FPV Typhoon and have access to a Process West stage 2 kit which I understand is pretty damn good. I was wondering if I will need to put the car back on the Dyno once installed?

Ive searched as best I can in previous topics but couldnt see anything. Apologies if I am repeating a topic. I have a BA MKII and Im looking at changing my standard XR6 turbo bonnet for the XR8 bonnet. Is it as simple as a straight swap?

Thanks mate. Appreciate the advice and to be honest id love to use them not only because of their history and success but they are close to home, but they are nearly double what others are charging. I understand that in life you pay for what you get but in this case it comes down a simple equation of available $$$$ , and after shelling out some serious coin for the engine, I simply cant afford the extra $2k they want.

I’m installing a new engine in my XRT BFii in the next week or so and have come across MRC Dyno & Performance in Castle Hill. He was recommended by Atomic to I feel fairly confident with them but wanted to know if anyone had any feedback. They havent been mentioned on any threads on this site that ive seen so keen to hear if anyone knows anything about them

Does anyone know anything about Fordpro in Smithfield? Im contemplating using them for an engine repair. As I dont want to breach any Libel laws, please PM a response if you have any feedback at all.

Well for anyone interested I have been hard at working with the old man taking my expensive paper weight apart and have discovered something that is puzzling to say the least. Its taken several days on and off working on it over xmas, and in excess of 10-12hrs labour but we finally got the head off and discovered what caused my car to crap itself. We started by removing the obvious. Rocker cover, Cam etc. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad47/hickdeads/05012010003.jpg When it came time to remove the head we were completely astonished to find sitting there on top of the piston, what can only be described as part of an Allen key. I know it sounds crazy but I can think of no other piece of metal which has the same appearance. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad47/hickdeads/05012010006.jpg Judging by the damage to the head adjacent to one of the valves(See photo)it has slipped through there. http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad47/hickdeads/05012010011.jpg http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad47/hickdeads/05012010012.jpg So where to go from here im not really sure. The head is pretty buggered but im told can be repaired and ill do the valves and springs at the same time. Quoted about $500. Sound ok? The questions from here are almost endless. How did it get there? Where is the rest of it? Is the piston buggered? It has some minor score marks on it but the bore wall seems ok? Either way its going to be a while before im back on the rd and probably quite a few dollars later. If anyone has any ideas, advice or anything else usefull, feel free to post.

HEY GUYS, ANYONE TAKEN THE HEAD OFF A TWIN CAM XR6T?? ANY TRICKS I GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR OR IS IT FAIRLY STRAIGHT FORWARD?? I MAY HAVE THROWN A ROD OR SPLIT THE TOP OFF A PISTON. I WON'T KNOW TILL I GET THE LID OFF SO WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFO OR HELP. I'M NOT A THRASHER SO AM VEEEEERY UNIMPRESSED WITH THIS FAILURE. ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?? I'VE BEEN AROUND A WHILE AND RODS LETTING GO ARE A THING OF ANCIENT TIMES. CHEERS

Senna T - Yeah just the standard Flash tune done. I had some initial problems with it but took it back to the guys that did it and they fixed it and havent had a real problem since. Wasnt racing in the slightest. Just cruising. I dont give it a thrashing at all really. As much as you can in suburban peak hour traffic anyway. Never been to a race track or anything.

Car details - 2005 XR6T Ute, Flash tuned and dyno tuned in 2007 Yesterday it shat itself. Ford have advised that the spark plug has shattered and the engine has lost compression. They think that the conrod has broken and the piston has pushed up into the plug smashing it to pieces. I dont know a hell of alot about cars but mates that do say that this is very unusual. Questions are 1. Does this sound right/likely? Would this be because it was poorly tuned? 2. Anyone know a good place to get it fixed in SW Sydney(Liverpool)

Right, so the gents at Intune Motorsports at Castle Hill have some answering to do then hey? Cheers.

Gday all. I had the flash and Dyno tune done about 6 months ago? Just wondering what you think I should do next. Im not looking to spend a fortune though.

Gday all. Im a relative amateur when it comes to this stuff but I had the Flash and Dyno tune done on my car about 6 months ago. Ever since I had it done the car idle's like a Tank. When cold, the revs do this weird thing where when coming to a stop at a set of lights or something, instead of the needle dropping down to the normal idle of 750RPM, they bounce up and down like a Yo Yo from about 300RPM up 1000. It does this 3-4 times and then settles at the standard 750-800RPM but not before nearly stalling at every drop. Once the car warms up it generally stops. BUT the fun doesnt stop there. Even when the car is warm I can be sitting at a set of lights and the thing will almost stall out of the blue. It does this just about every time I drive it for more than 10 minutes. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem and if so whats the fix? To be honest the Flash tune and dyno has been a mediocre experience for me. When working properly its great but it doesnt always work. Sometimes when boosting it seems to miss fire alot. Im not knowledgable enough to know if this is over boost or not.

I have just added the flash box and tune to my car and cant believe the difference. The 10psi tune is out of this world and im loving it however it does raise the question. How much more stress is this putting on my car? The car was set lower for a reason I guess so running around at 10psi, is it likely to kill my engine quicker? I realise the XR6 turbos are a fairly new breed and it may be too early to tell what long term damage the upgrade might do but thought some guys may have some input.
