  1. Happy Birthday Elias!

  2. scuff plates are for good looks these days I recon. it's the corners that really need scuff protection.
  3. you'd think with todays manufacturing process being far superior that such slack would be non existent or at least not felt. You can drive 30 year old cars and not feel any slack. There must be something else.
  4. Do they at least know what causes the shunt? One would think if they did know then they would know how to fix it. but surely they have worked out where the actual problem lies.
  5. heated seats??? nothing a couple of farts wont fix...
  6. Shunting at 4500 kms? how pathetic. I drive an EA with 350,000 kays on the clock and no shunting at all. Dont understand how they can build a car with this issue and claim it's normal.
  7. if this problem is so common, I would be asking Ford to foot the bill. Obviously the heating mechanism is not of merchantible quality. Heaters should last much longer then 4 or 5 years, it's not like they have such a hard job to do.

    Zf Auto

that's really impressive. I would have thought I would have seen more responses regarding blown ZFs given the amount of modded T's in here, but looks like they can take quite a beating.
  9. hi guys, just wondering if anyone has had problems with the ZF. If so, at how many kms, was your motor modded and how much did you have to fork out to get it fixed?
  10. I dont understand wht Ford doesn't set up something on their website where people who have ordered cars can log in and check up on the status of their delivery. Surely this would be more cost effective and customer friendly than dealers and 13FORD being constandly bombarded with phone calls asking them when the car is going to be ready. It would also be good if they simply reported on the delays and issues themselves honestly and openly rather than allowing rumors to spread and causing bad publicity.
  11. wait till they become available and take both the auto and manual for a test drive. I'm stuck in the same dilema, I can only hope that one really outshies the other and make the choice easier.

    Motor Mag

one thing I noticed about that article was that the Turbo had the Oil cooler option. I thought this was only available with automatic transmissions. Can some shed some light on this?
  13. why dont you quietly tell us what was said quietly?
  14. I dont think CVT can handle too much torque. I might be wrong, but I remember reading something which pointed this out. If it wasn't for that issue all manufacturers would be using them now as well as in racing aspecially, you could have the transmission moving up and down ratios to ensure motor is always running at peak power.
  15. more gears would mean better acceleration and better fuel economy. I can only see it as a good thing. Would hate to see the bill if you blow one though...
  16. I found this article on the new 8 speed ZF Transmission: http://www.themotorreport.com.au/411/zf-8-speed-automatic/ This article is about a year old, so I'm surprised I didn't find anything in here on it. has anyone heard anything about this? any idea of Ford will be putting this into upcoming Falcons in the near or forseeable future?
  17. When the option was 4 speed auto and 6 speed manual, choice to go manual was much easier. Now that it's 6 gears vs 6 gears makes the decision much harder. I'm having trouble deciding too, proof of the puding is in the eating though so I rang 12Ford last night to organise a test drive of both the auto and the manual. Also, can someone please explain what the big deal with launch control is. Any reason why you couldn't rev the motor to 3000 revs or so to build up boost before dumping the clutch without lunch control?
  18. does anyone know of any dealers in Melbourne who have a manual T available for test drives? not for a joy ride, I am going to buy a new T, but need to decide on manual or auto.
  19. dont I feel like a stupid bastard,, I obviously looked up all the tomorrows apart from that one
  20. James, about time someone can give us a heads up on the manual. Can you give us some more info on the manual please. How would you compare it to the auto performance and drivability wise?
  21. Which tomorrow exactly??
  22. Looks like everyone wants to see the ads where they talk about all the features and benefits. This is the cornerstone of almost all car ads and it obviously hasn't worked well for Ford. I think the ads get people thinking, the cars look good in them, all you need these days is an internet connection, anyone who sees the ad can simply hop on the net and find out more, there they would find out all about the features and benefits and the great reviews. Anyone looking for a car you would imagine would do this research. I think the ads will get people wanting to know more, and that's all they need to do I recon. On another note, what I find funny is that I have seen Toyota ads with the slogan 'tha game has changed' .... well it sure has dikbrains, Ford and Expensive Daewoo dont use the 'Game' theme anymore time to come up with a new slogan.
  23. the slogan is 'see the possibilities'... the fingers are from the people in the car, jumping around on buildings and surfing on the water and all the rest, it's like saying anything is possible... I'm sure someone else can explain it better
  24. if you dont have rain sensor in your car, just drive with your arm out the window, when it starts getting wet, turn your wipers on...
  25. Ads dont excite me much. When I saw the fingers t first felt like I was about to see a yellow pages ad. Had to see the ad a couple of times to suss out what the go was with the fingers now that I get it I must say it's very clever. I'm not sure if it will sell cars though. Also, one of the videos is of the car being put together, The motor in that video is a standard NA 6 yet the complete car is of a G6ET... I hope they dont make that mistake on someones G6ET order
