Yeah a mate said he saw that under cover Late model camira chasing a XR6T past autobahn but the cop was struggling to keep up. Dunno how it turned out.

Should be able to recognise me around town now

Have you tried losening the spring in the BOV? Sounds like it's to tight and it's not venting.
-
Thanks for all the advice guys, I think I'll leave out the springs and cat but keep the funds aside as ms said, and dirty excuse my ignorance and slackness to search the forums but what is a UBP and what does it do? Wow if I have to replace so much just to get to 270 I spose I might as well go 300 or so. And sorry if the thread seems like a repeat of that one you linked hanra, but I heard there were some differences between BA-BF regarding springs, cat and so on so I wanted to make sure .
-
Mmk well I suppose I'll have to get the springs then because I don't want to compromise reliability. And a new Cat would be a maybe?
-
So I'll need to do the valve springs pretty early?

Hi all, I'm looking to eventually get some more grunt out of my T so I want to kind of get an idea of what I'll need. I don't want to go crazy with the power, probably just 270-280 so that I can have a firm win over some of the newer V8's at stock Heres all I think I'll need to get those figures. Bosh 968 Injectors Flash Tuner (Custom Tune) A cheap I/C (probably a $300 Monza/Wog one) to keep temps down a bit. From what I've read on the forums so far that's all I think I'll need. My understanding is that Valve springs aren't need till you start pushing higher than 270rwkw, same with Cat am I right? Just looking for advice on anything else that I will/won't need, specs in my sig. Much appreciated,

I did this BOV venting mod today and I'll give my thoughts. Keep in mind I've got an Auto. This is a pretty sweet mod IMO. Was easy enough to do, you really only need a rubber stopper and 1 hose clamp to hold the filter on. The sounds is a pssscchht that is only really audible from inside the cabin and isn't overly loud . I had to turn the radio off to hear it but you can definetely hear it if your listening for it. Had a mate stand on the road while I drove past and let it blow but he said he could barely hear the psschht over the sound of the turbo spooling and the turbo flutter. The only time you'll her this mod with an auto is when your hard on the throttle and then you take your foot of quickly. If your driving normally (not going over 3k rpm and driving slowly) you wont hear it at all. Also if your parked and you rev the engine you wont hear it either. I like this mod because you can show off (that's what this is all about ) to people in your car though the noise is only noticeable when your listening for it so it's not going to annoy the sht out of you. And because you cant hear it from the outside your not going to piss any one off with your car sneazing and your not gonna get any attention from po po. Speaking of po po, if they do notice you making it go off and pull you over, and ask you to rev your engine it's not going to be easy to hear and if you get the black monza mini filter like I did it blends in very well and you can't spot it unless you know the exact spot to look for. Great mod if you want the sound to show off but don't want it to get annoying. Nothing personal but I think the guide in the first post could be a bit better, theres quite a few dark spots that I had to figure out my self. Something good to include would be an underneath shot of the middle plastic thingy showing which hose to block, just a confidence thing. Also a tip on how to deal with those metal clips that are already on there. Was 10 mins before I decided to use some vice grips on them. Maybe also a warning of the little black screw thingys holding the middle plastic down, I snapped the one that's on top of the engine block trying to get the plastic thingy out of the throttle body >_< nothing dramatic but a warning would be nice. Thanks for the guide guys (Y)

First car was '93 Lancer. Big 15" alloys on it, a sports exhaust (punctured the orginal drivng to a 4wd comp with 4 mates in it ) and a pod filter. Handed that down to my sisters and I still drive it now and then cause I miss it's awesome manual FWD ness Couldn't fathom the power when I first got my T :D .
-
I've seen two T's driving around rocky with Dynamic Mechanic Stickers on the back, not sure what they think but if they're leaving stickers on they can't be to bad. I'm keen for a drive the w/e if anyone else is.
-
Nah still around mate, fuel prices are starting to twist my nuts though so I'm cutting back on unnecessary driving.
-
Well seeing as I can't make a new thread in the Queensland section :( I'll ask here. Where do us CQ suckers go to get a Custom tune? I'm thinking of getting Injectors, Intercooler and a flash box with a custom tune eventually but I don't know where to start looking. I remember xrcute saying he went down to Goldy for his tune (around 270rwkw I think?) so if someone could tell me where he would've went or maybe somewhere closer to home that'd be sweet.
-
Bah didn't see this in time. How was it? What are your other mates driving?
-
Nah didn't have particular dates in mind and I'm tryin to save my dollars atm for some new mags but if anything starts getting organised hopefully it'll get posted here.
-
Yeah these mags in 19" lowered without the spoiler would look great imo. Is yours lowered? If not it looks good at the height it's at now...
-
Wow they look great nilson though I think they'd look better during the day as the block spokes stand out as well. Must admit though, I reckon they'd look better on a Bionic Blue T Looking at that makes me think of removing the spoiler as well... hmmmm... Should have the $'s for them soon so I'll post up when I get them no matter what they are. Still no idea's on a selling price for the stock 17's? (no tyres)

Black Under Bumper Guard Near Intercooler

There are one of those fantastic quality plastic push screws at each end of the bumper but it's mainly held on by nearly a dozen 7mm hex head screws that are about 15mm long. -
Well my current wheels are 17's but I'll get him to check up if he really wants them. Yeah I know they're a few around up here as well but I've only seen them on small cars and a few VL's with slightly different ones. Though I'm not really fussed on having different wheels to everyone else I just want mine to look good. Anyone got any recommendations for wheels? Something they've seen recently and liked? Also has anyone got an idea on what I could sell my current 17's for?
-
Tell me about it! The choice of wheels hurts my head but unless these look crap when I put them up to my T as you said then I think these will be the winners. I saw a White Mitsubishi Mirage with these on in a 17" flavor and they looked great, they can only get better with size I imagine

Hi all, My tyres have been rotated worn, rotated worn and rotated and worn to the point where if the plod stopped behind me at some point chances are they'd be an easy spot and I'd be coping a fine however rather than just getting new tyres I've decided I'll get some big flash jigger wheel's as well to get the look. I kinda like the Advanti Medusa wheels, the advanti badges all around the rim really do it for me and the black + chrome looks good IMO (I had black + shadow-chrome in mind at first). What do you guys think? Bob Jane quoted me $2300 for 4x with Medium-High end tyres they claim they get really cheap because they buy in bulk. I've forgotten the name sorry. Also my uncle has a BA Territory and mentioned that he might be interested in buying my current wheels when I upgrade (with the right tyres of course). The two of the rims have not-to-noticeable gutter bite marks, one from previous owner and one from me on an early monday morning. How much do you think I could sell these for without tyres? My T is a Bionic Blue Sedan as in the picture to the left. I have the standard brakes but I've painted the Calipers bright Red. All opinions much appreciated. Sorry I couldn't glue the wheel pic on my car, I don't have a good side on pic with the painted calipers and my photo shop skills are dismal at best

Black Under Bumper Guard Near Intercooler
Locky28 replied to Locky28's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
I wouldn't be worried about water on the intercooler, that'd probably do more of a good thing cooling it down even more :D The reason I ended up getting it was because I was noticing some wind noises driving along at 100km/h with a breeze going through which was annoying. It also means that a few of the bumpers/guards around the front end and front wheel arches don't sit as solid. But the thing that bothered me most was the look, by that I mean if your standing in front of the car you can see the ground through the mouth on the front bumper which really annoyed me. As trough said it would no doubt help airflow down there and If you have one of the big rapid coolers then it might be a good idea to put it the guard back on to fully utilise your cooler. -
Was good to meet up buzz, unfortunate that the traffic didn't favour the falcon's sticking around but that's the way it is I spose and there was quite a few other cars getting around.

I had a Ford service last week, cost $900 but I had quite a bit done. -Full 75,000km service -Front discs machines -Brake and Radiator fluid drained and replaced -Plastic stone guard under the front bumper replaced -Handbrake adjustents and so on.
