No, but I find it easier to steer it gently up the kerb instead of hitting it straight on after you do an unintentional 180 on super sprint stages. heh So how'd it happen Tim?

Also been enjoying a simple platformer RPG co-op (or SP) game called Tallowmere, great for mindless fun with the missus after a day at work. Again, we both play with Steam controllers but just mash buttons! Prior to that we played a fancier puzzle action RPG platformer called Trine 2 (very fun and challenging, best played as co-op I reckon)

Heartily recommend this indie game lads, if you liked Descent back in the day, enjoy space shootem-ups and random level generation with a light story get on this, it's dope! Only $34 on GOG.com or US $29.99 on Steam. PS don't spoil the content surprises by reading or watching too much about it either, some cool sh*t to stumble across and get killed by. https://www.gog.com/game/everspace I fly only in cockpit view. A VR headset would the the BOMB with this game. The in game graphics are top notch (custcenes are 2D mostly static drawings but I like the charm...reminds me of the old Thief games). Loads of guns and shop mods to earn as you progress, it's a "rogue lite" (not "rogue like") so you are expected to die, restart and slowly improve your ship, though it is possible to get to the end on a basic ship with good skills, strats and a lot of luck from the random number generation gods. I've been playing it with a Steam controller and am loving it, once set up right it's actually better than mouse and keyboard for movement in 3 dimensions - can manage to fly forwards or backwards while strafing left/right and/or moving up/down and also roll left/right all at once (as well as aim/steer) after you get some practice in. If anyone needs a help with the steam controller set up for this game let me know. It can be a bit slow to set up well if you are stumbling through the options. One big item is I set the right touch pad to "Mouse region" instead of joystick and tweaked it until it felt accurate and fast. Also made use of the dual stage triggers to avoid having to press two extra buttons (great feature). I also play it in the Steam client despite buying through GOG and having a full DRM free version - just added the game to Steam so I can launch it there and be able to mess with Steam controller settings.

HELP! Car breakdown and popping after traction loss
discostig replied to rcklssrabbit's topic in XR6 Turbo
20's won't give you grip, it's tyre choice and width man. You might even find there is actually more grip with an 18" of the same width and tyre model due to increased sidewall giving a bit more flex! Also the ride feel on ultra low profile sucks ass if you don't have really smooth roads. -
I pity da fool that don't light up the rears in his van!
-
Probably a job for a good tuner that works on XR6Ts daily, I wouldn't go replacing any ECUs yet! Ford are usually not as good as an XR6T performance specialist either...
-
Yeah it was, saw that recently as well. Meowch!

Yeah was thinking people that have sh*t cars that can't make much smoke will love being able to make thick clouds now! Bit of water or old oil to get it going if needed, then you're away! Will make it faster to get the big clouds going so less time you might get caught doing it. So considerate.

Shredder roads???

Not quite a double digit effort, needed to wait another year and a quarter. Bad luck!

Yep pretty sh*t hey First ten pages of mine are like this until I changed to imgur in early 2013

Photobucket sucks, RIP all my early build thread pictures. Imgur FTW

Waste of cash going for the little fish, there's always more to take their place...easier for the police to do though I guess. It will never go away while it's illegal. They need to police the sh*t, make it a health issue instead of criminal and cut out the crime lords involvement. Political suicide suggesting that though...

That's true actually, the compressors I bought were cheap and did struggle a bit with the new Kings that went in. Had to go slowly a turn or two at a time each side when it got to the serious end.
-
You can buy spring compressor pairs for about $30, maybe $50. You could on sell them after ( I kept mine). PS don't point the ends of the spring at your body when it's compressed in case you don't already know.

Yeah thanks for the heads up mate. I've read that the behaviour will have changed, I'm yet to experience the conditions but have it in the back of my mind...will need to look out for it. So far just solid traction

Hmm edit didn't save, try that again Did some math out of interest regarding the stock LSD. It broke turning on to an uphill 100 zone and I floored it, new tyres hooked up well, diff not so much hahaha. Let's do a rough estimation of the amount of times I've floored it... Owned since August 2008, let's estimate that at 9*365 - 30 = 3255 days I've driven it probably between 5 and 6 days a week, so say (5.5/7) * 3255 = 2557 days driving, rounded down. Full throttle hits per day is very rough but I'd say...2 to 3. Many more 3/4 throttle but we'll ignore that. 2.5 * 2557 = 6392 rounded down So about 6,400 full throttle runs. To be fair mainly rolling starts, but 7 of those 9 years (77.77%) were with over 50% more engine power than it left the factory with. Not bad in my book!

I've read people saying the stock diffs are sh*t house and break easy but I have to disagree!

Out with the old in with the new PS Got my money's worth!

So this was the count on the odo around the time I finally did this to the stock LSD so I took it to Driveshaft Balancing Services in Malaga who did this for me I'd actually managed to break off three teeth that were happily sitting in the bottom of the diff housing Thankfully the original crown and pinion were still fine So Driveshaft Balancing Services got me back on the road after only a single day (cheers Blake and Wayne) and it's driving great again, there's actually less clunks now since the old diff was pretty flogged out. Early downshifting from 3rd to 2nd (with a bit of a rev match allowed by the ZF) was flawlessly smooth, a real pleasure after having it clunk. That could also be the worn out uni joint they replaced at the same time though. The diff is quiet when cruising along at all speeds too which is great, no whining. I wouldn't know it was aftermarket. It can clunk going to drive/reverse when parked up but that's small fry. Performance wise I'm yet to give it any real sh*t but I'm sure the Eaton "Detroit Trutrac" should be up to the task. Interesting fact, this model with the helical gears need both wheels in contact with the ground to work, otherwise the wheel in the air gets all the torque. Only an issue if you are racing around corners enough to lift the outside wheel though, which I've never done. A big advantage and part of my decision was also the idea that I cannot wear it out unlike the factory clutch based LSD. I don't know much about diffs and as I found out when looking at options the Truetrac is just solid helical gears. Diff oil changes are now just recommended to be 80w90 mineral based - no LSD friction modifier additive any more either (that is actually detrimental to this LSD's performance). Diagram and video of the unit in question for those that aren't familiar:
