  1. Congrats Stever! Did you Celebrate by shagging the mrs all through the house?
  2. Housing is looking great pixy! Polished concrete will be awesome as well, it will all be worth it once it's done! Stever I was on the fence about an independent inspection, but now I might look into it We are having a quick walk through with the supervisor tomorrow arvo, so hopefully we find out a completion date
  3. Alright thanks all, I've got a bit more to think about now Melbourne's water is really good so I don't think that will effect me
  4. Yeah it's crazy how fast the wheel bearing goes from silent to rooted And yeah flops around like a hotdog in a hallway
  5. Have to admit I never looked at the dish drawer machines I'll do some reading up, but you guys make it sound alright
  6. House is almost finished :-D Builder said final clean is booked for this week and then we will have a walk through and pick the sh*t out of everything. We haven't been able to get inside for the last 3 weeks so just looking through the windows, all the little nic nac problems appear to be have been fixed, so it really is getting exciting! Hopefully we are in before the end of the month. Went out looking for a dishwasher last weekend, shortlisted a few and then went on Google to read up about them and my short list has moved to zero, so yeah but more research before I go back to the shops, if anyone has some recommendations that would be great Also ordered a house alarm system online last week, works out heaps cheaper if you are able to install it yourself, but I might regret saying that after I crawl through the roof for a weekend
  7. How is crossing my name off a list and then giving me a pencil secure? Oh wait the pencil has a string so I couldn't steal it Edit- watched the video above and it makes sense
  8. What a massive waste of paper
  9. Yeah I got no idea to be honest, but if he can provide the info I will share it
  10. He said it's something to do with if you blow a circuit at night it's so you still half of your roof lights working... He said when his house was built, they did the same... Made them come out and fix it because he had a copy of the wiring rules to prove it I'll put a copy up when he gives it to me
  11. There is only one lighting circuit Apparently all new homes are suppose to have half the lights on one RCD And the other half on another RCD He is bringing a copy of the regs. to work tomorrow and show me It's not unsafe, just not right
  12. Hey sparky dudes! I know most of you a far more talented than boring old housing switch boards But my mate has told me this is not to current standards Can anyone guess what the problem is...
  13. That catch can is both a thing of beauty and ugly at the same time!! Nice work [emoji108]
  14. I'm not a mad keen tech guru, as long as my internet works for emails, mobile games, Netflix and porn I'm in a happy place But yes I do understand what you fella's are on about
  15. Another home hub pic pixy Lots of things happened at the house this week, Timber flooring is down All door handles and hardware fitted Driveway has been cut and crushed rock compacted Wardrobes fitted out, but when we move in I'll be ripping the standard shelf and pole out and getting my mate to build custom wardrobe Tried some panorama photos to get more in
  16. My house had to have nbn distribution box as part of the build Was $1500, but that was four data points and 4 TV points, trench to the nbn pit and then conduit from external wall to the box I'm sure the price is way to much but it's part of the new build Box is in the garage, and has Powerpoint next to it I don't have a photo of mine but it is almost identical to this photo Hills Home Hub it's called
  17. When we signed our contract there was a specific page about not entering the building site, so yeah I'm not gonna even risk them being able to flip any issues onto me I'm just keeping a list of everything and I'll blurt it all out when we have handover inspection. Heaps of small mistakes easy to fix, but the tap problem is gonna be a lot of rework for them Might try negotiate something extra for the trouble, but don't like my chances
  18. We still get a shower screen you know... It still has a fall to the drain, it's not flat Also I know the tiles are gonna have to come off, just pissed how long it's gonna take before the builder notices their mistake We are not meant to go into the building site and look around, so I can't exactly ring them up and tell them what I have noticed Here is a pic of the shower waterproofing, there is aluminium angle around the edge, then sand/mortar is poured in and a fall created to the centre Then water proofing membrane seals it all up
  19. Nah apparently our builder doesn't do recessed/level shower bases So they can just pour a flat level Slab I guess
  20. Here is a pic of the kitchen... And yes that's an external door frame sitting on our bench... Here is the second bathroom This is our ensuite, it's hard to get photos to show it properly Builder rang yesterday and said the timber floor is booked to be laid this week so should be good We noticed that our bathroom plumbing is wrong, both showers and the bath are meant to have flick mixers instead of individual taps, so will be interesting to see how the builder is going to resolve this considering tiles are on the wall now Just have to wait and see
  21. I disagree I think base fuel is all the same, but each of the major fuel company's have there own blends. I work on fuel tankers everyday and have noticed that product indicators for each compartment (rotating barrel with many different labels on it) That there is Unleaded 95 unleaded Premium unleaded E85 Diesel E10 BP Ultimate Voterx Premium Now if they were all the same why would they bother putting two extra labels if all 98 is premium unleaded I don't have any hard evidence though Just my thoughts
